I have a quick question.

I've been busy and away at college in another past for the past few years and in between that time I never sought to get my driver's license. Now that I am at home for the time being how hard is the actual road test it's self. As I figure that's my only obsctacle since I already have the learner's permit.

I've heard from many that the test it's self is actually quite easy since they spend more time inspecting your car is road worthy more then anything else. I feel confident about driving, I'm just a little unsure around the edges with things like parking etc.

So what is the actual VA DMV road test like?

Its actually very difficult because you're in the Northern Virginia area and everyone drives like idiots.

So they make the test very hard

When I took mine, shit in 1997 at Gallows DMV it was ridiculously easy. Turn right out of the DMV, right on the next street, right on the next street-drive in the center of the street???wtf??never understood that-stop AT stop sign, not an inch past, then rool forward to check for traffic, then turn right, stop at Gallows, turn right, turn right back into the DMV.

It was like the polar oppisite of Nascar lol, slow and to the right.

But then again, the hubby took his is Herndon and is was hard and he had to re-take it to pass..heh

That you are in VA where the bar for passing a road test is incredibly low and requires nearly zero command of your vehicle. A few turns and a stop sign? Why even bother giving a test, just check for a pulse. No wonder people around here can't park, negotiate a 4 way stop, or a traffic signal. Too complicated I guess.

God I hope so! Although I'm far from a bad driver imo!

If you live near the Franconia DMV try their test. The traffic around that office isnt so bad.
