The Fairfax County board will decide on 8/25/17 whether to change the name of Lee Highway to Malcolm X Highway

They will also be deciding whether to change the name of the portion of Jefferson Davis Highway (Route 1)that runs through Fairfax County to Martin Luther King (MLK) Highway or Thurgood Marshall Highway!

While good for stirring up controversies, I believe changing the name of a highway would require the consent of the Commonwealth Transportation Board.

They should rename it MLK Blvd. That should take care of over-inflated real estate values for people living out that way in about six months time.

Y'alls realize that changin' a name don't mean shit, right?

My business is on Jefferson Davis Highway. If and when the name is changed...the only bit of my branding that will change is an addition of (Route 1) on all my printed media and e-information.

Even after they change the name...customers will still be able to put my building number with "Jefferson Davis Highway" into mapping software and GPS and it will pull it up just fine.
