A teenager has been killed and four others were injured in a crash on Furnace Road in Lorton, Virginia, Thursday.

Officers responded at about 11:24 a.m. Thursday to reports of a single-car crash on Furnace Road near Lorton Road and Dairy Road, police said.

A Nissan Maxima was traveling southbound on Furnace Road when it left the roadway, struck a tree and flipped, police said.

The four surviving victims were taken to the hospital by both helicopter and ambulance.

All five of the people in the vehicle were teenagers, Fairfax County police said Friday. Police are still investigating what caused the crash, but said speed is believed to be a factor.

The teens’ identities have not yet been released. Detectives are working to identify the teens and notify family members.

Updated info. Initially said 14 year old driver was killed. New info, 15 year old passenger was killed not 14 year old driver..
