So a week ago, it was the painters in to power-wash and repaint the McHenry house. Beautiful job of course. They also rebuilt and painted the 20-year old pergola out back. Nice work by them again. Today, we’ve got the grounds crew in to put new batches of mulch in where the old ones used to be. The yard and gardens will appreciate it, and the place will look really nice once they're done. Costs a bit, but it’s worth it.

Meanwhile, back at the Sweet Spot, one of The Principals has stopped by to assist with kitty claw-trimming. Not the Thug Kitty though. We do the others periodically, but he always goes to the vet. Safer for everyone. Well, maybe not the vet.

Well, greetings once again this morning from the gorgeous Sweet Spot home that the wife and I have owned and so much enjoyed living in for more than 40 years now. It was already 'the big house on the hill' when we became its second owners, and the series of expansion, renovation, and landscaping projects that our lofty incomes have made possible in the years since have only made it an even more impressive place.

Well, we were already long gone from the pits of FCC of
course, but once we had the money, making the move from
McLean to the Sweet Spot was just a no-brainer. I could
still go desk-to-desk in under an hour, and we had a
wonderful home and all this beautiful land to play with.
It was already the big house on the hill in the mid 70s,
and we’ve only made more of it since, both inside and
out. This is why the assessment is what it is. Should be
getting a new one of those in a few weeks.
