uh what? LTE is 4g(well LTE advanced is). do you even know what LTE is? Both companies are switching to LTE. T-mobile began this stupid label wars by calling their HSPA network 4g. HSPA is the next step up from 3g, so its 3.5g.
Technically speaking LTE IS 3.9G, with advanced LTE being the TRUE 4g. Just because marketing says something doesnt make it true.
att doesnt have 4g, but they are building it. Then again att hasnt even fully converted EDGE to UMTS yet across the country.
WiMAX is nothing like LTE. The fact that sprint is pretty much looking at LTE down the road speaks volumes.
Wimax is 4g, but wimax is to cellular network as betamax was to videotapes.
I have att and i worked for att. The fact is, ever since CINGULAR and their parent company SBC bought AT&T wireless and BELL AT&T, they've changed their attitudes. this new "at&t" is far from an innovator. the fact is its been what? 5 years or more since 3g came out? yet there are large portions of the nation living on EDGE speeds. You can argue all day and night, but the fact is gordon doesnt know wtf he speaks about.
I am a firm believer in the fact that verizon will be the future of the wireless industry, unless something happens with the partnership between verizon and vodaphone (who owns a stake in verizon wireless FYI)
