Unemployment Rates

Sometimes we forget how we got to where we are. Some blame Bush, some blame Obama. Perhaps it is over a decade of buying cheap goods from China and exporting our jobs overseas.

We are not the only ones to have done it. Canada, the U.K. and the EU did too.

Enjoy.

We don't have to.

But we do need to act more like China than Europe if we intend on turning this around.

Just eyeballing the graphs ... one of the charts is obviously using fake data, and it's not one of the charts with higher unemployment rates.

I'm sure the chinese just start throwing people and jail and executing those in jail to make room for the new comers when there is excess labor. Thus supressing the unemployment #.

Or decide to move mountain but use pick axe and shovel instead of a bulldozer you know... to create more jobs.

They also build giant ghost citys.

The Chinese probably also have conscripted military.

Sounds like paradise me!

Feel free to pull up the statistics yourself from Eurostat, the U.K. Office For National Statistics and Statistics Canada. With a population of 1.7 billion, I doubt whether the PRC's statistics are all that accurate. A .1% rise in population means millions of people there.

Even our own unemployment rate doesn't mean "people without jobs" it means people seeking jobs and not finding one" pretty much and I'm sure all of these statistics bureaus have their own formulas.

To save you one search, here's the U.K.'s unemployment situation as of 9/12:

Edit: For the link above, check out the slider for the map of the U.K. at the top to watch the country go from near full employment to high employment from 2008 - 2010. pretty neat.

It's not credible that China's unemployment rate barely moved during the recession from 2008 to 2009.

I would be hesitant believe any numbers put out by the Chinese. The rest are probably legit.

The Euro area has unemployment numbers that are roughly 3 1/4 points higher than the US...but at least the Greeks got to live above their means until it all blew up.

I have you now.

I know some people who analyze the chinese economic reports and they tell me offical chinese gov't stats on exports and imports seldom reconcile with thier trading partners.

For example the chinese will claim they exported 100Billion in steel to EU, Japan and US. They add up steel imports from China and its 35Billion.

It is. The whole thing with communism is that they abhor unemployment. They would rather employ a million street sweepers than have idle hands. Its these inefficiencies of underemployment that make that political and economic system so shitty in the long run.

The Chinese government is fearing for its life that the petals will fall off economic boom. If the growth rate in their economy falls below 7%, all hell could break loose, not only with their overinflated housing market, but politically.

People are willing to overlook their horrible political oppression and corruption while times are good, but if the economy tanks things will get rough.

Double- and triple-counting due to metal output pledged to multiple trading firms.

You know asshat we have 27 million people on food stamps in this country and they all own i Phones made in China.

It always gets me when I here Libs run their cock gobblers about our diminishing manufacturing base. Do you think Michelle and Barry are raising their girls to work on the assembly line at GM?

Who brings a child into this world with great expectations to run a rivet gun in a factory or shovel at one of Obama's fucked over ARRA jobs?

Why would you hate your children like that?

Use your head.

There is plenty of room for wealth expansion in this country. The only thing holding us back is the 51% of you idiots out there that fell for the biggest hoax ever perpetrated on the electorate.

Now you've forced me to tell you to go fuck a camel and have a nice day!
