I read on Facebook that Don got fired from KHTK in Sacramento. I am not sure all of the details. It sounds like he got fired on a Saturday. I am sure Jason Ross will kill take his place and kill in the ratings. Possibly Ross' show will go into syndication.

he should come back to fairfax and start up the don and mike show again. maybe they can get the greaseman and g gordon liddy to come back too.

Is this true? Can't find anything on the web about it.

I don't think he's been out-and-out fired, because he's one of the few radio personalities that can actually force management to give him a contract, rather than the at-will agreements most on-air talent has to work with.

All KHTK has done is taken his show off the air, so he'll sit out the rest of his contract until it expires or he gets another gig.

The reason there's been no news about this is because no one at KHTK has issued a press release and it happened on a Friday, so there's been no one at the station for reporters to contact. Don probably has a gag clause in his contract which prohibits him from talking about it, which is why nothing's come from his side.

Has anyone checked with the Greaseman yet, to see how he feels about this? What about Mike O'Meara? Or, Rob ... whatever the hell his name is? Even, Buzz Burbank?

My guess is that none of them really give a crap. How can one milk the same old crap in radio? Don might have had a good run (in his own eyes) but maybe he should pack it up. Also, the Mike O'Meara pod-casts seem like a waste of internet bandwith, too.

Radio is dead people.

According to DCRTV, Don was fired. Dave Hughes is seldom wrong, so it must be true. I never saw any news article from the Sacramento paper. I am sure that Tom "Demarcus" Couzens and Joe Davidson of the Sacramento Bee are so happy he is gone. Jim Crandall of KTXL television must have been elated when he heard the news.

KHTK carries the Oakland A's baseball games this year. Don absolutely hates the A's with a passion. Don's show would get pre-empted and cancelled due to A's baseball. Don despises A's players, management, and broadcasters. Don can't stand Lew Wolff, Bob Melvin, Coco Crisp, Eric Sogard, and detests Ken Korach.

So the bloom has faded with regards to the popularity of the olde dons and mikes show in the Big Sac. Did don finally do the Sacramento dance as they escorted him out the building?

Maybe Don should give old Harv Moore a call in Buffalo and see if he can take over Harv's old job?

The Sacramento Monarchs use to be a WNBA team in Sacramento. Their radio affiliate was KHTK. I remember that they use to play about three weekday games durning the summer. This use to piss me off more than you could believe. This use to fuck the Don and Mike show and the Mike O"Meara every year. The Monarchs would also have these long ass dreaded post game shows. If the Monarchs were around today, I think Don would have been suspended for blasting the lame product.

KHTK is the hire them fire them station. I thought David Coverdale was bad for Whitesnake. This station is the worst. Unless your name is Jason Ross or Grant Napear, you will get s-canned. Even F. P. Santangelo got fired from this station. F.P. is the biggest kiss ass on the face of this earth.

I am not sure if Don was fired or what the case is. I don't see any articles except on DCRTV. Where can I find his radio ratings for KHTK? Does anyone know if they were good or bad? If anyone could post some info, I would appreciate it.

You forgot about Jed Lowrie. I heard Don wish cancer on Lowrie's entire family once.

When the Kings sucked and Jim Kozimor was on Noon-3, the station had almost literally zero ratings (even worse than those posted above). Now they've got guys on-air that make Koze seem like Howard Stern, and the rosiest forecast for the Vivek-era Kings has them at maybe .500. Hopefully Donni will land on the air somewhere else and lead us in cheering on KHTK's continued plunge into the toilet.

They're the ratings for the entire station.

I'm not blaming all of the KHTK ratings on Don, but KHTK's ratings are dreadful. Fucking Sac State is beating them in the ratings. Also,the classic hits radio station from C.C. is ahead of KHTK. That station has a weak ass signal. Drive to Folsom in you car and the station goes in and out. KHTK can be heard clear as a bell and they are getting crushed in the ratings.

Don had always go into it with other D.J's in Sacraemento. There is nothing new with radio wars. However, I remember about a year ago, KHTK was doing a remote at a well known park in Sacrmamento. Don was doing his show at a rally to keep the Sacramento Kings in Sacramento. I know Don almost got into a fight with Brian Wheat. Wheat is the bassist for the multi platinum rock band Tesla. Wheat almost got into a fist fight on air. Wheat hates Don like no tomorrow.

Download The Don Geronimo Show episode aired Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from iTunes. Maybe 1:30:43 into show had something to do with Don being pulled off. They didn't catch it.

A regular caller who calls himself "Ted Kaczynski" was on air and said "Yeah, so have I told you guys lately how FUCKING much I love you?" Yes it made it on the air and you can still download it on iTunes. I don't know but maybe that getting through had something to do with the show being pulled.
