Welcome, Expensive Jeans
Posted by: Expensive Jeans ()
Date: July 16, 2007 04:13PM

I am a net detective and internet pwner that happens to live in Fairfax County.

I am insenstive and cruel-hearted. I work from home and have an abundance of time to donate to the betterment of this board.

I do not discrimate based on race, age, or sex. I pwn all without bias. I realize this is a diverse crowd - that is not a problem. I welcome spics, fags, women, blecks, and even sand *****s in my threads. I am a firm believer in the right to free speach.

My door is always open.

I have heard this forum is un-moderated, that was a major draw. I would like to use FairfaxUnderground/Off-Topic as a blank canvas in which to paint my Sergio Leone, Techi-Color like brilliance - in the form of pwnings.

I am a message boarder

and the board is life.

I would also like to state that, like many of us here in Fairfax County, I am extrememly wealthy.

I drive a 2007 Lexus which I purchased at Pohanka on December 1st. I shop only at the Galleria. More specifically, Neiman Marcus and Saks. Ocassionaly Nordstrom's when I feel like slumming.

I live on an extremely nice property. Some of you may be familiar with it.

I come from "old money" but still gross an enormous annual income.

That was me above, I accidentally used the handle "Designer Jeans", as some of you may have noticed. I also spelled "Extremely" wrong - I am much smarter than that. My spelling is near flawless.

Assuming Mr. Stidman's first name is Robert, he lives in Clifton, Virginia. Suprisngly close to myself.

He has a string of traffic offenses from multiple residences within Northern Virginia. Nothing serious.

To where exactly do I deliver this gentleman?

Okay Expensive jeans, I hate to drive all the way to Neiman's to get my favorite hair and skin products. They are called Keihl's. Neiman's is the only place I can find that stuff other than in South beach in Miami. Use your net investigative skills and find me a place besides Neiman's that sells Keihl's.
I used to be a PI too but I only made $15 an hour doing adultery and child custody stuff.

Thanks, Trickie

Trickie,

I too am a user of Kiehl's product. I use their men's facial moisturizer, hair product, and "baby lip balm". Neiman Marcus at Tyson's II has always been where I have purchased Kiehls.

However, I know they sell their men's product at Nordstroms, and also Bloomingdales.

It is a somewhat incovenient product to acquire.

For decades, the capitalists who ran private equity, venture and hedge funds managed to convince Congress that the 20 percent carried-interest profit share they took on deals wasn't ordinary income (taxed at up to 35 percent) but a capital gain (taxed at 15 percent), even though they typically were risking almost none of their own capital. This gross inequity was taken as a financial fact of nature. moguls are paying a lower tax rate than the people who cleaned their offices

But no more.

Even the wealthy -- at least those with social consciences -- seem to share the new concern about restoring fairness to the tax system.

"Fairness" means different things to different people. "Fair" to some means "people that worked hard to become rich should pay much more than people who didn't." "Fair" to others means flat-tax on income. I think the fairest tax of all is a flat sales tax of 10-15% on products and services (5 for state, 10 for feds), and elimination of income tax.

Except when is the last time somebody worked hard to get rich? These guys Use the social stratification to STAY rich not GET rich. a good example is W bush taking his dad's money, going to Harvard graduating a C student, then driving every Corp into the ground before being bailed out by his fat cat buddies. Come on!

Re: Welcome, Expensive Jeans

The simplistic "flat tax" idea is once again rearing its ugly head. In the U.S. Senate, Arlen Specter proposed a flat 20% tax on earned income (working people's wages), from which rich people's unearned income (capital gains, interest and dividends) would be exempt. Congressman Dick Armey supports similar legislation in the House. Former presidential candidate Steve Forbes (who has exhibited virtually no entrepreneurial innovation in his life and became wealthy by inheriting his late father's publishing empire) made as a centerpiece of his failed campaigns a flat tax scheme that salutes the idle rich (as distinguished from hard-working innovators or entrepreneurs who actually earned their wealth) by exempting UNEARNED income gained as a return on investment (not merely protecting the value of the principal, but allowing those who gain wealth without working for it to avoid taxes while those who work hard for what they gain pay all the taxes). Since Forbes' plan reduces taxes on the poorest and especially favors the wealthy, but is supposed to be revenue-neutral (no loss of incoming tax revenues) once again it means the middle class working people would be the ones squeezed to make up for benefits to the rich.

Apparently you don't know just how low household income has to be to trigger AMT. Look it up. "Rich" as defined by the tax code is real easy to hit with two professional working adults in one household in NoVA.

And yes, if I am "rich" compared to my fuckup friends who decided to drink and take drugs all day while I actually did my homework and graduated college, and they don't have much money because of it, I do not believe I should pay a higher tax rate than them just because they don't have much money. They fucked off and I didn't. They should be paying more than me.

That's all we need... new rewards for not making the correct life choices.

That is possibly the stupidest analogy I have ever heard someone make. You can't just go by percentages. Let's say the rich guy's income is $150,000/yr, and you are a fuck-up, so you only make $15,000/yr. If income tax was 20% flat, you would be paying $3000/yr income tax, and the rich guy would be paying $30,000/yr... Isn't that fair enough for you?

Perhaps income tax should be influenced by the amount of chilren you have? Where C stands for children, and T stands for thousands over $100k income:
Income tax (%) = 20 - log2( C + 1 ) + log6( T + 1 )

uh no. cuz there aint nobody on the planet that can live on 12,000 a year while some rich bitch lives on 120,000. Why shouldnt the wealhy and better off contribute more since they are going to stay wealthy and comfortable rather than the poorer sections of populations it would actually Burden them to give more?

Because it's their money and they should be able to do whatever the fuck they want with it. Rich people already donate money to charity. Who do you trust more, Bill Gates, or George Bush? I don't know about you, but I don't trust the government with my money.

Because Fuckin BILL GATes GETS enough MONEY THROUGH MICROSOFT ASSHOLE! George W gets enough money from his affiliation with the Bin Laden family oil connections. They have more money than they know what to do with already so why not TAKE that cash and put it to the common good rather than wait for thier greedy selves to ooooh throw a pitance down to the poor pigeons?

When you pay taxes, you are paying George Bush. George's $400k salary comes from somewhere you know. You sound like Hillary Clinton, "Lets take the profits from the oil companies." Who's fault is it but your own that you are a homeless person posting from a computer at the library.

I've wondered the same thing myself, not having lived through the sturm and drang that EJ appears to have stirred up (the remnants of which are now only faintly visible, like the archaelogical ruins of a city destroyed by volcano).

Most of the EJ posts I've seen are quite witty, with a very dry, almost sublime sense of ridiculousness.

Doesn't anyone on this website have a SENSE OF HUMOR??
