Why do New Yorkers and northeast in general seem unusually rude?

You can go around here and in the D.C. area. I find that maybe we are not the most polite people on earth, but we have a more easy going manner and a friendlieness here. It gets more friendly as you get south of the Metro. But in the Northeasteran areas, even in the rural areas, people just aren't very friendly . I spent time in Upstate New York and Northeast PA. Its just a different culture. They tend to be very blunt and straight to the point. I don't mean like mindless small talk. But even in how they communicate. It was a culture shock to me when I left the D.C. area and moved up to Boston. I am so glad to be back here!

You're just a feminine southern pussy.

This is why you lost the Civil War.

None of the masculine qualities required to fight and fuck things up.

I lived in the south for seven years. the area we lived in was NOT welcoming and friendly to northerners. Still we made a few friends. I think when they realized that all we wanted to do was assimilate and fit in the best we could, some left us alone. Still there were a lot that just as soon as you opened your mouth they would say "Where you from"? "You're not from around here". "You must be Yankees". (and they spat that out like it was a four-lettered word).

I think a lot of it is insecurity, they know northerners are generally intellectually superior. We aren't smarter, we just have a much stronger emphasis on education up north.

Boston is rough, the neighboring city of Brockton (city of Champions) because Rocky Marciano, Marvin Hagler, and a lot of famous Boxers were born and raised and trained there. I'm from the South, South Boston where gangsters like Whitey Bulger, the Winter Hill Gang and Raymond J. Patriaca and the crazy Angeulo Brothers, all Mafia, held turf in the turbulent sixties. Gangsters from this area could never compete with guys like that, remember crazy Joe Barboza?

One man's education is another man's indoctrination. They prefer to keep their culture, even if others find their means off-putting.

I went to Boston for a couple days.. I got some unusual vibes from people on a couple occasions. I think the area my hotel was in was a college student area so maybe I just looked old and out of place or something.

There lots of dolts up North. And let's face it, the South is just more interesting. I wouldn't include the D.C. area because its a fake, just like Atlanta. But most of the South is strong in personality. Southerners have great stories and wisdom. Also lots of great writers, musicians, and artists from the South. The North is just kind of jerkwater towns. If you ever met someone from NJ or something you'd never think Northerners were intellectually superior.
