He and his lawyers are so desperate they 'hope' he is King. I suspect this is the only argument available to his legal team - no lawyer would resort to this unless there were no other option. Certainly if he was innocent of wrongdoing there would be no reason to elevate this to a constitutional crisis, which it has now become.

Sorry, President cannot escape indictment for shooting someone as Rudy claims. No way. This states outright sitting presidents are above the Law in every respect. Its not even theoretical at this point. The President can do anything and not be indicted. He could shoot Comey, any witnesses, have the bodies removed/hidden and threaten anyone who talks with death of themselves and their families. And even if discovered would face no indictment.

I dont even believe his supporters would back this up. So what possible reason could there be for making this argument to Mueller? The only reason I can think of is its Trump's only defense - they know he is guilty of obstruction of justice.

The fact that there is a mechanism for impeachment itself is a declaration that the president is not above the law and subject to it. The fact that Republican pieces of shit are even supporting such a president whom is making such an argument makes them domestic enemies to the Constitution.

If the president can shoot anyone he wants and is above the law. What forces him to follow the laws enacted by congress or rulings of the Supreme Court? If he is King then why do we even need other branches of Government? He can rule by edict.

The fact that the DOJ has a policy of not indicting the president is not a law, its not in the Constitution, its simply a policy that may in itself be unConstitutional given a circumstance the Supreme Court may be forced to intervene upon.
