EV companies circling the bowl low and tight!!!
Posted by: ruh roh ribtards ()

Headline in the Wall Street Journal this morning. LMFAO. How's that EV stock doing? How about ZERO!!!! All my friends shorted EV companies long ago and have made fortunes. Our triggered libtard here better buy about 100,000 more EVs this year if he doesn't want that ship to sink. Maybe the gov't will buy all of them.

***

Why Short Sellers Are Targeting Struggling EV Companies
Electric vehicle manufacturers like Lucid, Lordstown Motors and Faraday Futures were big winners of the stock boom two years ago. Now all three companies’ shares are about to hit zero.

Same thing happened to gasoline powered car companies in the early days of mass produced cars. Ever hear of Nash or Edsel, Packard, Delorian or AMC?

Some news crew was on TV today doing a report on EVs. The guy was driving a Tesla half way across the country with a co-pilot plotting out all the places they had to stop to recharge. Overnight parked at the hotel the battery was dropping 20%, chargers were out of order and they got stranded once already when they couldn't get to a charger in time. They were supposed to arrive at their destination this morning but are less than half way there.

100 years ago you could hardly find a gas station. Once the need was there, so were the gas stations.

America is more than capable of doing this if the Trumpers would just get out of the way.

So how's the greenie transition going in Germany and Europe? Let's check in on the huge savings they are realizing over there... From the AP today;

The Price Germany Pays for Net Zero
The cost keeps rising and rising: an estimated €1.9 trillion by 2030.

Germans stopped counting long ago, but the rest of the world still might be interested in what Europe’s largest economy is paying to accomplish its transition to net-zero carbon emissions. The short answer: There’s a reason Germans prefer not to know.

Consider the construction of new green electricity generation capacity, which is a small part of the net-zero transition. The latest estimate, from the Institute of Energy Economics at the University of Cologne, is that Germany faces a €60 billion ($65.5 billion) financing gap up to 2030 to build sufficient power generation.

That’s the investment that can’t be funded via utilities’ and generators’ retained earnings, which means that plugging the hole will require either higher electricity rates or more taxpayer subsidies. About €10 billion of that will have to be spent on new gas-fired and hydrogen back-up plants to keep the lights on when low wind or clouds keep windmills and solar panels from contributing to the grid.

That subsidy bill is the good news. Separate research from the same think tank recently estimated the total cost of approaching net zero at €1.9 trillion between now and the end of 2030. That’s around €240 billion a year, for those keeping score at home. We couldn’t believe it either, but we checked and this is only for Germany, not for the entire European Union. Also, this counts only new investment. Older windmills or solar panels that require replacing in coming years will cost extra.

That enormous figure is worth putting on the record because in practice it will remain hidden from the public. The report counts both private investment (including spending households will have to undertake to improve their energy efficiency) as well as public spending. If anything, more of the burden is likely to shift to the private economy in higher prices and more expensive mandates after a recent court ruling has made it harder for Berlin to offer direct subsidies.

This is a warning for everyone else because Germany, and Europe generally, is much further down the path of the net-zero transition than the U.S. Two decades and uncountable hundreds of billions of euros into its energy transformation, Germany’s net-zero bills never shrink and the promised boom in green industries and jobs never materializes. Does Washington feel any luckier?

From the WSJ today;

Chevy Blazer Troubles Add to GM’s EV Growing Pains
General Motors halted sales of the new SUV, citing software problems. Automaker also has had issues with its other new EVs.

The Chevrolet Blazer’s turbulent rollout is the latest setback as GM seeks to establish itself as an EV player. James Hattin was loving the SUV—before the problems began.

On a trip from the mountains back to his home in Burbank, Calif., he and his wife heard weird clicking noises coming from the dashboard. A short time later, the cruise control went out. A few days after that, in his driveway, the car’s screens went blank and the car wouldn’t start. The car never started again, wouldn't take a charge and had to be towed back to the dealer.

GM instructed Chevrolet dealers late last month to stop selling the Blazer, while it sought to address certain software-quality issues that have frustrated buyers and auto reviewers alike. The company hasn’t given a time frame for when it might have a fix and has stopped building them at its plant in Mexico, a spokesman said.

Fox 32 reports that the recent wave of freezing temperatures in Chicago has taken a significant toll on EVs, causing an unusual scene at the Oak Brook Tesla Supercharging station. Desperate Tesla owners in and around Chicago were seen trying to charge their vehicles with no luck amid frigid temperatures that have gripped the Midwest.

Charging stations have essentially turned into car graveyards in recent days as temperatures have dropped to the negative double digits, Fox Chicago reported.

"Nothing. No juice. Still on zero percent," Tyler Beard, who had been trying to recharge his Tesla at an Oak Brook, Illinois Tesla supercharging station since Sunday afternoon, told the news outlet. "And this is like three hours being out here after being out here three hours yesterday."

Beard and several other Tesla owners were trying to charge their cars amid long lines and abandoned cars at other Tesla charging stations in the Chicago area, the news station reported.

"This is crazy. It’s a disaster. Seriously," said Tesla owner Chalis Mizelle.

Mizelle said she abandoned her car and got a ride from a friend after hers would not charge.

"We got a bunch of dead robots out here," one man said.

Kevin Sumrak told the Fox station that he landed Sunday night at Chicago O'Hare International Airport and found his Tesla dead and unable to start. He was forced to hire a flatbed tow truck to haul the vehicle to a working charging station.

https://teslathunder.com/how-do-tesla-heaters-work/ FROM THIS SITE:

"These types of heaters are fairly simple and provide more than adequate warmth when used to heat up a space, but they consume a lot of power.

Even though resistance heaters manage to heat a Tesla’s passenger cabin adequately, there is no getting around the fact that they can consume a lot of energy in cold weather, which can decimate the range of an EV."

Battery Heaters

Teslas and all other electric cars have large high-voltage battery packs that must stay within a certain temperature range during operation. :MORE BATTERY POWER DRAIN

Electric cars can’t use engine waste heat because they don’t have internal combustion engines. To heat up the cabin of a Tesla or an EV, other heating methods are required such as a resistance heater, a heat pump, or waste heat from the drivetrain." GAS CARS HAVE HOT WATER RADIATORS FROM THE CARS HOT ENGINE RUNNING AND HOT WATER HEATER CORES THAT THE FAN BLOWS AIR THROUGH TO MAKE IT HOT TO HEAT YOUR CAR

EVS USE ELECTRIC HEAT WHICH COMSUMES LOTS OF ELECTRICAL BATTERY POWER

FXU TRANSLATION FOR NARROW MINDED LIBS : LEAVING YOUR ASS SITTING IN THE COLD

ITS EASIER TO COOL A CAR A AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR CAN BE FITTED TO RUN OFF A CARS GAS ENGINE WHICH TAKES UP TO 15 HORSE POWER TO OPERATE DEPENDING ON CAR SIZE YEAR MAKE AND ENGINE SIZE TESLAS WOULD HAVE A POWER DROP TOO IF THEY USED MOTOR DRIVEN AC COMPRESSORS

NOW TELSAS HAVE HEAT PUMPS FOR HEAT AND AC WITH LOADS OF PARTS THAT STILL REQUIRE LOTS OF ELECTRICAL ENERGY JUST AS HEAT PUMPS IN WINTER OR SUMMER DO IN HOMES

What will happen is Democrats will be thrown out of office forever by many of those they allowed to stay in the US illegally and the black Americans and whites who dont want any stinking EV and can not afford them or their maintenance

They will turn against Democrats in mass when you threaten their ability to own cheap used gas cars to get to work and go where they want

Not under your socialist elitist dreams of they should live

Your working toward the greatest "F you" to the Democrat party in US history pushing expensive EVs that use battery power that is still hazardous to life on this planet

As at the whole time you bring millions more impoverished people into this country
Creating poverty breeding more crime

Your ideals are contrary to the natural order of man in the universe

Thats why you the pompous ass leftist elitist shall fail so miserably once you step too far taking cheap reliable personal transportation from the people and more of your oppressive acts against our freedoms

Why you so whiny got all your cash in green energy stocks huh to use government to force others to buy or use against their will so you can reap huge profits

But the truth was in that last post when Virginia turns bright red in rural and semi rural areas where lower income minorities and whites too must have cheap low cost personal transportation that they can afford and work on to save money urban elites working mostly for public employers throw away to the STEALER because they live in HOAS where Karen lives and jumps fast on their ass if they even pop the hood with letters of fines and penalities plus the real danger of working on high voteage high amperage EV without the specialized tools and instruments and factory parts and knowledge that the STEALER has

You can get away with a lot even with computers in as gas cars today but your risking your life on a EV plus the availbility of parts and the rest mentioned at any reasonable cost

To say nothing of the fact the pompous liberal elites cant work on jack shit if it takes brains and tools to do it , they only can plod along like cattle in a dreary overpaid government job pusing on keyboards writing governmentese silly reports over and over churing out trillions of useless bits and pieces of nothing of value slow walking when a Republican is in charge

Just look a the billions of dollars spend by US gvernment agencies to gather immese trivial data to determine how many immigrants can enter the US legally each year without damaging our low income hiusing and job markets overcrowding avialibkle schools social services medical providers crimininal justice systems 911 services and goverment operations itself

Then it all goes to waste when Democrats support allowing public charges into the US legally and masses of millions of illegals too that are aloowed to stay in teh US until the become US citizens parents or parent and get that magical green card all others world wide must wait to get leagally with its path to US citizenship 7 years hence and the right to vote

In the 4th quarter of 2023 Tesla sold 484,507 vehicles which was good but that is 20% fewer vehicles than they sold in the 4th quarter of 2022. These electric cars are coming on strong and it is great to see an American car company making these sales.
You poor people can start buying our EV's that we are trading in on the latest model. There is no way to stop EV's so you might as well stop being so afraid of them.

Over a 5 year 120,000 mile period ownership costs of a Tesla 3 is cheaper than owning a Toyota Camry. These Teslas provide a good value for the average middle class American.

I own a Tesla and I can verify that this is 100% bullshit. After two trips to the body shop for minor collisions and numerous stays at the dealer it's obvious that EVs are far more expensive in every regard. You doubt me? Look at what the insurance companies say.

You are full of shit.

They can not fix by their own hands and tools

Only the fools want EVs

Cost of the Tesla vs a basic Toyota are so much more a lower to mid income person can do all required maintenance and most repairs on their low cost Toyota and none in a Tesla with out risking their lives but keeping air in the tires even brake jobs on rear brakes are a pain in the ass with electronic parking brakes so if theres not tricks around that or cheap enough scan tools to retract the brake pads to change them then a trip to the stealer is in order once every 70 80 k miles

The biggest bitch with lower cost Asian cars today is the stinking cvt transmissions which develop more heat use steel belts and may not make 150 k without replacing as rebuilding them is not cost worthy so a diy guy can change out the trans for 4500 dollars instead if 6 k up at the stealer

But they get great gas mileage and if the Democrats stopped pushing more stupid unneeded shit on the makers people can have low cost fuel thrifty cars

Today Democrats dont help the working poor to middle class people at all with the working poor being those just getting by who cant get any public assistance paying more then their share of taxes and car taxes too and and the middle class who also dont get public welfare and make what the average to slightly more then average American does through work or retirement bennies earned through long years of work until age 62 up

Democrats say they are for the very poor giving them enough crumbs of the American pie to keep the vastly increasing masses of poor many imported by being allowed to stay after entering the US illegally or as public charges soon after coming here legally

But the ones Democrats really support are the well off government workers whose incomes are far higher then the average American who works in private employment and the well off pompous ass liberal elites who uphold all Democrat "values" and rich multi millionaires and billionaires who support the Democrats with large donations

Some people are scared of EV's. I rented one when I was visiting Portland and my hotel had 10 charging stations, I loved it so much that I bought a Tesla 3 a couple months after I got home.

I rented a 3 last year. Both chargers at the hotel were broken. Had to drive 13 miles to find another room in a shitty hotel just to find a station that I thought worked, only to come out the next morning and the car was at 2%. Broke down on the road a mile from there and had to be towed.

Imagine going through such bullshit for a fucking EV.

Never again.
