This is a milestone of no small accomplishment,,,,there has never been a thread with 100 pages before on FFXU,,,not even close
The fact that the posters have been able to milk this topic for over two years has been an amazing feet,,,we've squeezed and squeezed this turnip till it finally bled,,,,

This is our Mt Everest and we are about to plant the flag on the peak,,,,

Congratulations are due to WashingTone-Locian

Cheers!!!!

I certainly hope that reaching the 100-page mark will not affect the frequency and amount of posts this thread is currently experiencing. This thread serves as way more entertainment than TMOS could ever give. Let's keep it going. 10,000 posts, here we come!

In that last picture, Oscar looks like his shorts are not fully zipped. Was there something going on before the pic was taken?

Also, for those of you who are championing that no other thread has reached 100 pages, I believe that the South Lakes redistricting thread was at close to 300 pages, it is the one the got me on here in the first place. I cannot find the thread to prove my belief, but I am pretty sure this thread has a ways to go to top that one.

Here's to 200 more pages!

We dont want people to get mad by making false accusations against Oscar. But on second thought, maybe you are on to something.

As usual +100 with the graphic!!

I tuned into the O'Meara vs. Oscar podcast, and could take about 10 minutes, but I came away with a couple of thoughts:

1. O'Meara calls this undisciplined cluster fuck a "mash up" - is that him excusing himself in advance because he knows this 'broadcast' is a piece of shit?

2. If these guys are at all serious, they need a producer and someone to organize daily topics and content.

3. MOM has two "affiliates" - I wonder how many stations he's pitched this crap to? I can't see too many real radio people taking this content seriously enough to hire the whole crew - I guess the affilates number proves that.

4. Rob(b) stop for God's sake. Your "Green Acres" audio bits aren't funny now and they weren't funny when that show was on the air 1,000 years ago. Your bit of giggling madly at everything O'Meara says needs a rest too - again, just stop.

5. Has anyone ever seen a fan sporting a $37.99 "MOM Show" polo? How many of those rags are they selling?

I haven't posted in this thread since it began and just noticed it hit 100 pages, lol. This isn't the first one to hit 100 though- the "high school redistricting" thread did that back in 2007-08. That yenta-fest went on for 184 pages, and was so large at one point that it crashed the Phorum software.

How about this. Apparently my idear of LFF and the lovely Kara doing an exercise video has been rejected. How about Miss Kara in bikini seated next to the LFF, would you watch this on U-Stream? With the sound off of course.

I thought Mark Ronick was sort of the producer of the failcast and RJ Diaz the gatherer of the fried foods. I understand he might be familiar with the gals on backpages, sure wish he post on that FU topic.

How about the LFF gets his hair poofed up like the big O? I think that would be a good giggle.

thanks Johnny Walker! Another duh moment for me.

Looks like K&M are about to ride the tidal wave of ratings straight to number 1, with this little morsel of promotional genius!

That's the actual copy (I did not alter it). So, once you provide the station with all of your personal information, you get a silly t-shirt and some money stickers so you can rep the K&M show.

Of the thousands of shitty ideas they could have ripped out of a trade pub, they pick this one, the idea is not all that bad, but the execution of it is the cherry on this pile of shit. K&M's ad budget has been spent on, a couple of banners for appearances, some bus boards and this, BRILLIANT! It's really no wonder why Mike is still on the air with the brain-dead management at WVRX.

It sounds like something Mike might write, but we all know he is too fucking lazy to do that. I imagine he got Rob(b) to do it for him.

27th??

That's an unmitigated disaster. He's trending behind Amy Goodman on Democracy Now! I mean, stations in Fredericksburg and Winchester are pulling better numbers than Mike. And I can guarantee those stations aren't paying their morning people anywhere near what Mike is making, even with his deeply discounted income.

Poor Mike, indeed.

WTF, another post from the O'Meara clan, let me guess Dave, this one came from a random Hotmail account...

DCRTV Post:
"Enough already...It is time to join forces and show " The Mr. Bigs " that we have a voice ( and an ear ) and we NEED to listen to Kirk&Mike. We need to be vocal about it. . No I am not getting paid for this, they are just funny guys and very talented and I know of no one else in the AM drive that is as good as they are. "Ohhhhh Jimmy, get me a cup of coffee, to God bless you, Jack Diamond " Blocked Nasal passage Elliot with a girly laugh, to Kane and his high school hijinks and man boy Sammy side kick. C'mon lets be real Men and Ladies and grow up and listen to a real " Grown up Morning Show. Just a thought, not a sermon. Patricia Lenahan Mike O'Meara (2/15/11)

Dave's response: Kirk and Mike 27th in the 12+ PPMs for the third week of January? Say it ain't so! Two things 105.9 must do now: 1) No music in K&M's show. It chases morning talk listeners away. And, 2) broaden the playlist to include a load of 1980s and 1990s alt rock, including bands like the Cure, Depeche Mode, New Order, and, yes, even some Duran Duran. And let Cerphe program the music for his own afternoon show. The station just sounds too much like a "red neck" rocker you'd hear in a place like Altoona or Terre Haute. Please, 105.9, no more David Lee Roth. Ever. Ugh....."

Not cool Mike, not cool.

You would think the GM at Citadel would remember what happened to Michael Hughes for sticking with this loser too long. Worse for The Edge is that as bad as Mike was on WJFK, I don't think that shitfest ever fell to 27th place on Hughes' watch.

If you have to resort to explaining that something was intended as satire/parody/humor, then it is not likely that it was as brilliant as you thought.

Not only that, "I got it", and still found it incredibly lame!

While I am on the subject, this (copied from your post) does not appear to establish the point you were trying to make:

> > > PAGE #121!!!!!/BASE-10 #100!!! PAGE
> > > #121!!!!!!/BASE-10 #100!!!!!

Shouldn't that be referring to base-10 page 121 as being base-11 #100?

dapjdj, you made some good points in your last post:
-------------------------------------
>If these guys are at all serious, they need a producer and someone to organize
>daily topics and content.

I think a big problem with the lack of organization in the topics is a man by the name of Robb Spewak. I listened to the podcast yesterday (I was hoping that with the bad ratings at The Edge, Mike might have another meltdown or something).

Mike actually did try to talk about another personal appearance he made (at yet another store) over the weekend, but it was ruined by Robb's constant interruptions. Man, Robb was annoying.

In fact, Mike and Oscar could hardly get a sentence out of their mouths before Robb would interrupt with a question or one of his stupid quips. Then he'd giggle at his own comments for the next couple of minutes.

I used to wonder why Don was so strict about keeping him off mic. Now I understand. Robb can be entertaining when he drops in an occasional comment, but an unleashed Robb is a total disaster.

The poster above who said there's too much Robb in the failcast is precisely right. A little of Robb's smirking and self-adoration goes a long way; Don understood that; Mike apparently does not.

Yeah, but by having Rob(b) do more, Mike can do less, which probably suits him just fine.

guess I will contribute since the thread has reached a milestone. I listened to D&M back in WAVA days, then at JFK for a while. Not sure when, but it really started sucking in the latter years - maybe when their egos became so enormously bloated. A year or two before D's wife died the show was complete crap. Then it got worse. And Mike on his own? what a joke.

To reiterate exactly how bad K&M are doing in the current ratings book...

I read DCRTV almost daily, it's a decent site. The guy who runs it is a spaz who is way too into local radio, but to each their own. I just had to repost his video segment where he outlines the morning shows that are beating K&M in the money demo. He gives us the top 28 AM drive shows in the DC area in the 25-54 demo, it's really sad when stations from Fredericksburg and TV audio channels are beating a local morning show on an FM station in DC.

(Go to 1:10 -6:00 the remainder is garbage, just ignore the fact that this guy is a freak and listen to the content.)

Caught that.I checked it out yesterday. I was trying to figure out how K&M could drop to 27th or if it was even possible. At first I thought it was just someone fucking around or a typo. Once I realized TV audio feeds had to be factored in just to show where K&M ranked I was a little stunned. I sat here slack jawed looking at the computer screen for a few seconds then had a good belly laugh.

Jesus Christ! The SUCK factor can't be emphasized enough here. It seems like Mike defies the laws of physics to figure out ways he can suck more then he already sucks. Hell I could reach more listeners with a freeking bull horn in Death Valley.

Especially after Mike spent years pissing on Diamond when Mike was Don's sidekick and they had better ratings.

I think Mike should steal another bit from Don and fart into the microphone...

Yes, literally just fart into the mic! I guarantee ratings would go up, how could they not? It's quite obvious that people don't want to hear Mike talk.

It's that easy O'Meara, crack the mic and just let go, no talking just pure flatulence! No prep required; unless you count last night's dinner as prep. It's a win-win situation, less work for Mikey, a more tolerable show for the listeners.

I heard that Jeopardy crap-fest today. Yes, Mike was blaming Shamrock for the shitty segment. And Shamrock kind of called him out on it.

Why was the segment shitty? Well, it's obvious Jeopardy sent out a bunch of questions and answers to DJs as a sampling of how hard the questions are on the program. I'm sure the Jeopardy people expected most DJs to have enough common sense to commit five to ten minutes to the questions and laugh about how hard they are.

Mike, on the other hand, decided to dedicate segment after segment to these questions. It was fucking PONDEROUS! And you can tell that Mike probably didn't read any of this information ahead of time. He probably got something in his e-mail, forwarded to Shamrock and said, "Let's do this tomorrow."

That's what no prep will get you. A shitty show and 27th place.

I think it's the fact that the MOM trolls are working on his nerves. They seem to have come out in full force this past week. They obviously see the writing on the wall, and know that the LFF will soon be earning his second pinkslip in less than two years.

Mike O'Meara Facebook status update from about 13 hours ago. It has 28 "likes" and 33 comments. Quite the scary response to that "juggernaut" of a broadcaster.

Mike O'Meara:

"Need my good friends to check out the "Edge" 105.9 Monday through Friday from 5am to 9am. I haven't promoted this show enough here on FB and I need all of your support, so check it out when you get the chance. Kirk McKewen and Mike O'Meara. Whatever happened with the "World Tour" that he was supposed to make in December?

Wasn't he going to Buffalo, Toronto and other cities TBA to make appearances with the huge numbers of podcast listeners to show local radio stations how popular the show is?

Did this fall through like all his other plans that require effort and cash?

This morning, Mike brought the show to a screeching halt to send Shamrock to go get a guy who works there to come in and explain on-air why he didn't say good morning back to Mike--Mike was freaking out that maybe the guy hated him or something. During this ego collapse, Shamrock told Mike that he came across as intimidating at times. Kirk said, "How can we be intimidating? We're last!"
Heh, at least he can laugh about it, I guess..

He and Carla went to Buffalo and Toronto on vacation (in Winter...seriously, why?). They went to a couple of bars to hang out with their "fans." Basically, four or five people showed up. Just like the four or five people who showed up at their big Iowa City rally.

His commute? He drives in at 4am. His commute should be free and clear for 40 minutes.

When I listened this morning they were talking about musical stingers. Maybe tomorrow he can talk about the color of the drop ceiling in the studio or the lack of parking on Jenifer Street at 10am.

I mean, has this guy learned NOTHING about what makes interesting radio????

There were actually a couple hundred people at the Iowa City gathering, I was there. Some folks came from as far as Sioux Falls and La Crosse to hang out. Overall it was a very positive experience and Mike was well-received by the crowd. We made him feel right at home here in the heartland, unlike you rude east coast jerks. Mike really enjoyed himself and the party lasted well into the night.

Okay. Jack White may be a douche and the White Stripes might be over-rated, but they are not a bad band, much less the "worst band in history." I would also argue that Hanson is very good musically, even if their stuff is obnoxious. I also don't hate Sugar Ray, though you might have something with Starland Vocal Band.

Worst band? Where is Maroon 5? Nickelback? Creed? I mean, c'mon!

Go to the photos on the MOM Facebook page. You are lucky to see half a dozen people in any of those photos (who are not members of the MOM crew). There isn't 100 or more anywhere to be seen.

I thought EXACTLY the same thing when I listened. It's so nice to hear Rob(b) off in the background, and I love the way D&M would talk over him before he finished his sentences. That is the only way to use Rob(b) as a radio "talent".

Congrats to MoM for making this thread a bigger success than his failcast. I've never listened to the show or chimed in on this thread but there is one thing that's surprised me about the D&M comments here, Don really does seem to have a lot of fans.

THe few times I tuned into the D&M show back in the day, Don was the one giggling like a fifth grader while making a lame quip like, "thank you from the heart of my bottom" or even lamer taking a on-air call from his wife or son. Since MIke could do a decent Jack Kent Cook or Marion Berry impression I tended to think he was the more talented of the two at the time. Maybe DG was just and acquired taste that I didn't hang out long enough to acquire.

The only other time I tuned in and found some entertainment value out of their show was during their on-air feud with Opie and Anthony.

From the above comment, I take it that Mike has accepted the fact that he sucks shit and the only thing he can do now is try to bring Don down with him.

No, Mike sucks and Don doesn't. You may think that Don isn't as good on his new show as he was with Mike in his heyday. But that makes Don Paul McCartney with Wings and not the Beatles. That doesn't change the fact that Mike is Pete Best.

It's not that I think Don isn't as good now (haven't heard his new show) as he was in his heyday with Mike, it's that I always thought D&M sucked and Don sucked slightly more. I admit I never gave them much of a chance but what was it Don ever did that could be considered good radio?

Ask the people who brought him from number 23 to number 3 in the ratings. You can have your opinion, but a hell of a lot of people disagree with you.

When LFF did bits like Marion Barry, it was Don's idea. LFF just did what Don told him to. That much is pretty evident now that Don is not Mike's Oz pulling the strings behind the curtain.

You make some great points. Rarely on this thread does anyone claim that Don has talent. They get puffed up about his ratings, his net worth, and his income but they're honest enough not to try and convince anyone that he's a very good comedian or impressionist. Don's the good businessman, and Mike has the talent.
