We're not talking about being Warren Buffett. We're talking about being among the 90 percent of Americans that didn't lose their homes to foreclosure.

It'd be 100% if we lived in a free country.

Well played, but not married, not foreclosed on, and unlike Mike my Restaurant has been standing for over 15 years. We love guys like Mike in the business because they show people how it shouldn't be done. It shows that no matter how much money or local fame you have, that this a cutthroat line of work that will eat you alive. You will never get rich owning a restaurant, comfortable maybe, but not rich. Nice try though.

Saw ad on DCRTV for a morning radio announcer and program director at an Oldies format station in West virginia.....Oh Robbay

Went to see the filming of Sportsweek at Primetime this week. didn't really seem to be much of a draw for the bar. I did think the combination of Dukes and Mitchell is way better than LaVar Arrington. I must admit some admiration for Dukes ability to keep talking and talking. But he is most definitely fat and the ponytail doesn't help.

Another difference, imho, Chad Dukes has talent on radio and actually helped the Big O and Dukes show gain in popularity. Robbbbbb was a tiny add-on to an already successful Don and Mike show and he has hung on to that for much too long. Robbbbbb could perhaps be a huge talent in the sanitation field. Or maybe he could be hired directing those that are looking for a way to hang on to some sort of previous success in a field that they had no business being in and not fall away into obscurity.

Rob(b) Spewak = obscurity in radio.

It's pathetic to think the zenith of Spewak's radio career were his weeking "Wedding Show" and "Used Car Show" on JFK.

Ooops, I keep forgetting he does an **hour** each week on KJCC in Cedar Rapids, Ioway. That gig plus his manic giggling on the pudcast will surely keep America thirsting for more radio gold from the Rob(b)-ster!!

Some of you people just don't understand. ROBB HAS A SUCCESSFUL RADIO CAREER, which is more than any of you haters can claim. Has he hit some bumps here and there? Sure, but haven't we all? Or have none of you ever had a rough patch at work during a recession where it's just not possible to get a good job?

In the meantime, the boys are having some fun on a podcast that all of you apparently hate. So why the fuck are you listening to it? But whatever, every time you download the podcast, Mike's numbers go up, and with it, everyone's opportunity to get back into radio once the market shifts again.

My guess is that the KCJJ window for Rob has been shut for some time. Most likely he has had an offer to relocate but with Carry being the main bread winner moving wasn't a net plus financially.

The 1 hour taped deal he does was most likely a trial balloon to gauge his viability. The numbers aren't great or you would think that he would have had a more secure offer by now.

I beg to differ. Rob(b) had a **chance** at building a career in radio and failed.

Mike Sorce handed Rob(b) the weekend infomercial gigs at JFK. What did that lead to?

Rob(b) was handed the pre-game MC job at Fedex field when JFK broadcast the Redskins games. What did that lead to?

O'Meara hired Rob(b) as second-banana/lead giggler on the MOMS. After more than a year on the air what did that lead to?

Why didn't CBS pick up Rob(b) when the MOMS tanked?

Rob(b) did spots and some voice-over work at JFK - why hasn't that continued?

Why hasn't KCJJ extended Rob(b)'s one hour per week to at least two?

Why didn't Citadel hire Rob(b) as producer of the K&M morning show?

These are just a few items to consider when you declare Rob(b) place in the DC
radio industry a "success".

There are two ways to succeed as "talent" in radio. You have a great voice or you have a quick wit. Rob(b) has neither.

Rob(b) was too busy livin' the dream to actually succeed...

He loved being Don's "best friend" as he put it. He loved traveling around with the guys, pretending he was air talent. I think he cried when he was brought on full-time at JFK.

But oops, he forgot to actually learn anything. Yes he knows how to clean the heads on a cart machine, and other useless skills a weekend board op (from the '80s) should know. But the poor bastard couldn't produce his way out of a wet paper bag. As much as he loves to run his mouth he's afraid to use the phone, and scheduling is really not his thing. Paperwork, not really his bag either. The pinnacle of his professional career was really when he was head cashier at Safeway. He was actually a competent employee there, shit he could have been manager by now if he stuck with it. He would be making a far better salary as a store manager than he is now.

Your income is supposed to increase with time, not decrease. This is a clear sign that you need to get serious and move on. Radio is not for Rob(b), it never will be. He's chasing his dream, all the way down the toilet, and bringing his family with him.

According to this, Rob(b) could be making $35K to $68K by now if he had just stuck with that Safeway gig...

Things on here that are not made up (because Mike talks about them on the air).

- He bounced a check.
- He's getting calls from his bill collectors.
- He might have to short sell or walk away from his house
- Rob(b) and Buzz are broke
- Rob(b) nearly burned up a van because he doesn't know how to use jumper cables
- None of these guys are doing well financially (except for maybe Oscar)
- Mike's career has been ruined by Don, Chad and BA (which would be an indication that the podcasting thing isn't going so great)
- Mike is making janitor wages at Citadel
- The Edge gig isn't going so well

The only thing being "made up" is the bullshit rosy scenarios trolls like you are trying to sell here.

It is simultaneously funny and pathetic these MOM trolls reduced to implying they believe that the MOM brand is "shitbirds" as their last means of defense.

See kids, the MOM "shitbirds" think that they are cleverly disarming this thread. Their implied MOM negative repels and cancels out our true MOM negative when in reality they don't think of the MOM brand as "shitbirds" in any way, shape or form. They love MOM. If they did actually dislike the MOM brand there would be no reason for them to post content hostile to this thread.

The mental gymnastics these goobs are putting themselves through just to support their cause for what ever reason appears to be taking a heavy toll on their common sense..

I thought that comment was somewhat out of place too. I'm sure the posters defense will be that they were just making shit up as a joke.

Well, he IS doing live remotes from tattoo parlors in Manassas for The Edge now. What a hugely lucrative line of sponsorship for Citadel.

nah man, it is an interesting case of codependent schadenfreude that you all exhibit here. ya'll are a petri dish of envy and low self esteem. you have even deluded yourselves to think that anyone that finds you pathetic MUST either be Mike O'Meara or a fan of his show. A logical mind would never find the two mutually exclusive. Amazingly, your little clan of schadenfreuders have.

With ratings like this: 20) WJFK [Junks 14th, Arrington 18th], 21) WFLS and WVRX [K&M 24th, Cerphe 21] - someone in accounting at CBS and Citadel has to cringe every time they payroll is approved.

"schadenfreude" Looks like someone on the cast has figured out a way to use the word "schadenfreude". wow! why don't you repost the word "schadenfreude" about four more times. it is making you look really smart and me really dumb.

I take pleasure in seeing failing people fail when they are cocky and arrogant and don't think they are failing. That's not "schadenfreude" in the strict sense of the word.

Same thing works with you. You are too stupid to know you are a failure just like your ol' buddy Mike. You are also too stupid to correspond with any further.

So I'll be schadenfreuding on down the road now. Good Day to you Sir, McSmack

I know at least two people who listen un-ironically to the podcast for entertainment, at least on occasion. Personally, I think they just can't let go of the memories of the old D&M days and their feelings of loyalty towards those guys, but that's their business, not mine. I don't think they like it so much they would come here to defend it though.

Don't know about Mike -- tho I suspect he stays away from veggies entirely, unless they're of the corn chip variety -- but I am more interested in Rob(b). Will he remember to take the vegetables out of the can before he microwaves them? Or will he simply try to warm them up with his jumper cables?

1. How would you possibly know that?

2. Good luck shutting this site down. Don tried it and had more money.

3. You need to look up the definition of "libel" and "slander." The negative stuff on here is either based on what Mike himself has said or on our opinion. It's not libel or slander for me to say that the failcast sucks and that Mike is an idiot for trying to making a living as a podcaster.

4. Mike is a public figure (he has chosen to be one), so the libel and slander threshold is much higher for him than some idiot who is picked out of obscurity and made fun of.

Did I say Mike is my client? Nope. Therefore, I'm not guilty of any "lawyer-client confidentiality," as you like to call it.

Most of us in the business call it attorney-client privilege, but whatever.

OK, you are an attorney...

Answer this simple, two-part question:

When were you admitted and how many digits are in your bar number?

Answering this question allows you to maintain your anonymity, while letting us know you are quite possibly a legal professional. This is not the kind of question that you can easily find the correct answer to using Google.

Legal attorney and this houndstooth dipshit are the same person. The same pimply faced loser in his moms basement. I'm positive his natural father hasn't been in his life for years. Anyway Mike knows his only paying gig is up shortly so he doesn't have the resources to pursue legal action on Jack Squat. No attorney with a brain would do pro bono work for a washed up DJ. Not sure about "Legal Attorneys".

We have one guy who popped up here as happens occasionally, posts under a couple of different unregistered names thinking he is a whole hell of a lot more clever than he will ever be. Dudes just an average run of the mill stain. Not even an exceptional stain, just your average stain.

My mistake. I figured anyone stupid enough to refer to himself as a Legal Attorney would be too dumb to know what the attorney-client privilege was. I guess that's what Google is for.

Yeah, the next big milestone will be 1,000,000 views which will probably occur sometime in 2013.

At which time this thread will be near 20,000 posts.

That is if MOM is still in broadcasting.

Or if somebody hasn't sued the posters on this thread for libel and slander and shut this thread down--(sarcasm).

Especially when a MOM troll comes in and really jump starts this thread right back up.

The fact that you amateurs in this thread rely on DCRTV of all places to get the ratings for 'Kirk & Mike' tells me that you're not in the radio business at all and proves how much you're not "in the know" of what really goes on. WashToneLoc also proves my point when he posts hilarious salary figures that are waaaaay, waaaaaay off... I mean astronomically off.

If you guys are going to post on here, please at least know what the fuck you are talking about. You all sound like pimply-faced dropouts that couldn't hack it at Columbia Broadcasting School.

So what if O'Meara's admitted to bouncing some checks, is overweight or gets drunk?

At least he's man enough to admit these things on the air, unlike you pussies that hide behind the anonymity of the internet and portray that you're as perfect as an untouched hymen. Give. Me. A. Break.

This thread is hilarious. Not because I am laughing WITH it, but because I am laughing AT it. I can see everybody's jealousy when they post on here... they're not jealous of Mike. They're jealous that they don't have a radio gig of their own, so this is a place where they can pretend to be in the spotlight. Lame.
