Mike's STILL referencing an ugly incident he's responsible for at "The Big Duff", the show's annual golf outing. Seems to have been some sort of alcohol fueled violence. A broken window?

Does anyone know what happened? It was disturbing enough for him to declare he was giving up drinking. (Which lasted about one week.)

I've also noticed that the spotlight for the "Weight Not"(what not) weight loss Whoey they're shilling has shifted from Mike to RJ. And knowing Mike's need to always be the center of attention, I have a feeling he's also fallen off the dieting wagon.

Do you think self-discipline just may not be his strong suit?

It's funny you mention voiceover work. I was thinking the same thing awhile ago. buzz got some voice work here and there, yet it would appear Mike thought himself too good to demean himself with it. Suddenly once the fraudcast is going he is working with Buzz to take lessons and get help.....I seriously thought that would be the sort of thing a person who works with their voice would have considered a long time ago...

What I've been told:

Mike had a few in him, and started doing impressions and telling off-color jokes. One of the guys there was a biker, and Mike started busting his chops and ragging on the dude's wife. It was funny at first, but he wouldn't leave the guy alone. Eventually the dude and his wife take off, and the next thing you know a couple of Hells Angels show up. By this time Mike was piss drunk and acting all tough. They started shouting back and forth and started shoving each other. If it weren't for Buzz stepping in and breaking things up, Mike would've totally gotten his ass kicked. Mike was totally out of control, and he would've paid for it.

That's funny if it's true. Can you imagine being some of the idiots who had been suckered into paying to attend FattyShack II and that was your evening's entertainment? Nothing like killing a good buzz with awkward silence after something like that.

Yeah cuz few days before, someone (probably related to the show) floated a rumor that Lady Gaga was going to perform as a special guest and sign autographs, and do a special one hour interview with MoM. As usual it was all bullshit, and like half the people who showed up (just for that) were all pissed. instead they got to see the "radio god" get drunk off his ass and charge $15 for an autograph.

+1. Yeah Lady Gaga at the F'burg Hooters accepting O'Meara's invite!!

What's more shocking to me is the level of intelligence it takes to fork over $15 for O'Meara's drunken scrawl on a publicity photo.

Based on that alone, it's easy to say that as a society: We. Are. Doomed.

Goddamn, can you imagine how much shit D&M would have given a 21st place DJ who threw events that no one came to, charged his listeners money for "bonus" podcasts and bitched about how all of his problems are because of other people?

That would have been great radio, and I guess it is why this thread is at 127 pages.

Thanks for the information. Mike also fleetingly mentioned of a broken window, so it may have gotten a little more violent than the story you heard.

I'm in Oakland where the Angels got the their start, so I think of them as a West Coast club. Is it unusual to see them in Virginia or Maryland?

Asked for clarification, Bachmann cited John Quincy Adams, probably confusing him with his Founding Father father.
To be clear, John Quincy had nothing to do with the Declaration of Independence, the American War of Independence, or the U.S. Constitution other than being the son of John Adams.

Yes, Bachmann is an absolute idiot.

For some reason the failcast has generated a fervent following among several hundred brain dead people who are willing to buy shit like ESSADEE shirts. But even with this following, the MOM crew has to realize that a few grand here and there from crappy t-shirts, download sales, etc, split five (or six) ways and minus expenses still equals less than minimum wage.

there is a difference between meaning to say 57 states and territories and forgetting to say territories and Bachmann learning history from Netflix and not knowing the difference between John Adams and John Quincy Adams.

Anthony Hopkins played the part of John Q. in Amistad... which may have helped Michele to this obvious conclusion:

John Quincy Adams was a cannibal who wrote the Constitution and Declaration of Independence, and then crossed the Alps with elephants to help put an end to slavery.

I used to listen to the Don & Mike show for years, each time Don was on vacation the show turned horrible.

I started working nights, usually starting around the time they came on air, a few years ago so I didn't know about Don's wife dying in a car crash until a few months later.

Anyway, the show (still the Don & Mike Show) had stupid shit ass bits like Mike shaving himself on air, Robbay cutting off his dick doing an ad that wasnt entertaining but was related to wedding or gardening shit, and Buzz doing heroin while an intern jacked him off.

In a summary, the show sucked ass and Mike still sucks ass while ruining the 'modern' classic rock station 105.9 (which used to be a good oldies station like 100.1 until they realized that everything in the 1980's was old).

Anyway, as a fan of oldies and soft rock, I was turned away into talk radio. Talk radio now sucks which is why I exclusively listen to various types of heavy metal and yet when I wake up early and turn on 105.9 I get very ashamed.

Once Don & Mike turned their show into a pussy convention (with no sight nor mention of pussy I might add) radio in Northern Va has gone downhill.

Mike O'Meara you can suck a fat dick, cause all your impersonations and impressions have caused me to wish that instead of listening to talk radio that I could listen to Fleetwood Mac and kill myself.

Thank you for your service to the community, you jack ass mediocre child molesting pundit.

LFF makes it quite clear that financially he is in a bad spot.

Apparently it really happened. But it sounds like the dude hit Mike's car, not Rob(b)'s van...

MANASSAS, Va. --

A man was seriously injured Tuesday in a two-car crash near Grant and Portner avenues in Old Town Manassas.

The wreck happened about 11:20 a.m. on northbound Grant Avenue when a white sedan and black Dodge Charger collided. The impact flipped the white car, trapping a man inside, fire officials said.

The man was cut from the car and flown by helicopter from Weems Elementary School to a nearby trauma center with serious injuries.

Friend of mine with PW fire and rescue tole me that this is the ass who has been speeding by Mike's house at all hours of the day, honking his horn and throwing shit at MoM's house. They tossed a big piece of lumber out the window at Mike over the weekend and have been waking him out of bed late at night with all kinds of honking sirens and airhorns. they figured it was somebody pissed about the podcast, Hopefully they nail his ass.

It's funny how the report says the two cars collided and not that the white car hit a parked car. Hmmm.

If they tossed a big piece of lumber out of a moving car, what are the chances they'd hit anything? (And look what I did here - I avoided a dig at O'Meara being a big target! I'm assigning myself a "+1" for compassion.)

The day random people start throwing shit at you and harassing you at night, it's time to call the cops or move.

I'm calling bullshit on this O'Meara camp trollpost.

If this wreck thing is a stunt, it's the best thing they've done so far: It managed to get me to listen to a full three minutes of the failcast.

I would think the serious of the crash (i.e car flipping, helicopter required) makes it a little too much for this crew. They'd back out and not do a stunt to this extreme.

And this will have all the impact of helping their show as much as throwing a stone into a pond. It'll make a little ripple for a second, but that's it.

Now, if they'd tossed a big piece of CHOCOLATE out of the moving car, couldn't you just see LFF's enormous lumbering form rolling over in bed (narrowly avoiding crushing the bride, if she's not down the hall to avoid his snoring), pulling himself to his feet, throwing open the window, and bellowing, "FEE FI FO FUM, I smell CHOCOLATE!"

It was "a two car crash" between the white car in the photos and Mike's car. The news report may be wrong, but it doesn't sound like the white car hit a parked car.

So, if the failcast makes "possibly a few hundred bucks per person monthly," does Robb get to keep that money in addition to his allowance, or does he have to reduce his allowance from Cary's job by any failcast income he earns?

Nor had it appeared in USA Today, Buzz's news source of choice. Short stories; small words.

These idiots could have had a story that would have driven attention to the failcast. Further evidence they have no idea what they are doing.

Remember when the jumper called into Howard Stern's show and he talked him off the bridge? It was huge PR for Howard. If Mike had received that call, he would have signed off, told the guy to call 911 and opened a brewsky.

To be fair, what the fuck is the guy supposed to do? Talk the guy out of not getting into an accident? I mean they could have actually had something to talk about (I gather they usually don't from what people here say).

I mean what's going to draw attention to the podcast? It as a weird car accident... no media attention is going to happen because someone got into a car accident outside of their house.

CNN are a bunch of whores for this kind of stupid iReporting. They could have cut together a 1 minute story about how their podcast was interrupted by this crash and two days later Anderson Cooper would be pondering it's significance.

Well we'll never know because they didn't try. Go out there and check it out. Or send someone out with a phone or something to just look around and talk to people, if possible. What if it was some drunk guy and they talked to him? If it was a real emergency it would be a very tense situation with them being first on the scene and trying to get help and make sure everyone is OK. If it was just a fender bender they could have done a bit pretending it was some horrible accident by exaggerating everything going on. "Oh the humanity the bumper is dented!" The point is something actually happened and they did nothing.

It's a car accident. No one gives a shit about them unless it's a 40 car pile up. To be fair to them, no media was going to give a shit. They were idiots I guess for not talking more about it because it makes for good air but no media was going to come out and even give a single fuck about anything.

The point is, a car accident like this wouldn't even be a blip on the radar for most real shows. But if all they have to offer is stuff like dog shit and complaining about the traffic in I-66, this accident is comparitively big news, I woulda thought, sad though that is.

What makes it news is that it happened in front of Mike's house during the podcast. If a car crashed in the background during a live shot of a local newscast, it would be news.

In MOM's case, though, they didn't recognize this. In fact, if intrepid newsman Buzz Burbank saw the Hindenburg explode he would have yelled, "Oh the Humanity! Turn off the camera!"

Well, well, well who do we find in the basement of DC overall ratings (Source, DCRTV, 07/06/11)?

20) WJFK [Junks 18th, Wise 18th, Arrington 13th], 21) WVRX [K&M 21st, Cerphe 21st]

K&M I completely understand, but why isn't anyone listening to the brilliant Junks, who can't manage better ratings than LaVar? Oh, the shame...

Seriously? The Junks think their hole card is satellite radio? Wow . . . that's really overestimating your place in the universe. They're looking at a 50% pay cut, MINIMUM, if they could even get on Sirius XM.

I witnessed an amazing occurance on the metro yesterday.

It was a woman. A fairly hot blonde woman, at that. She was wearing a Kirk and Mike t-shirt.

I wanted to ask her where she got it, why she was wearing it, if she was actually Carla, but I was standing on the platform and she was in the car as it pulled away.

If Bob Eatman (Junks agent) could have sold the Junkies to XMSirius he would have done so by now. XMSirius is in major belt-tightening mode, as you note - why would they want to hired 18th-rated talent (in their home town no less!) for anything less than pennies.

Hell, if I was XMSirius, I make the Junkies work as unpaid talent until they proved they could generate subscriptions and ad revenue - which would never happen.

The Junks floated the XMSirius move the "scare" CBS. I don't think CBS got very scared.

Delusion is rampant in radio - the Junkies think they are "real" talent - when the reality is, they got lucky when Stern left and CBS and JFK GM Michael Hughes made a bone-headed decision and passed over Don and Mike for the JFK drive time slot. Junkie "talent" had nothing to do with where they are now.

But delusion reigns supreme - O'Meara and his wacky krew sit in a living room, talk to a computer and fantasize that they are cutting edge, with-it "podcasters", hell by Junkie talent standards, XMSirius should be beating down O'Meara's door to get his show on the "Virus" channel!!
