The Junkies are in a horrible negotiating position with CBS. The show's ratings have been stagnant for six fucking years! They have done absolutely NOTHING to justify their pay. There are guys with less experience making $130K pulling better numbers in this market. If their agent pulls out a win on this, he must also be Casey Anthony's defense attorney, because it would be a fucking miracle.

Yes, the site CAN have good information...sometimes.....it's about as accurate as the talk on this page too. I will breeze through the headlines to see if there is anything worth reading, but will never do the mailbag, too many planted pieces in there.

The front page of DCRTV is actually decent. But the mailbag is just a cesspool of junk. Dave's total lack of control in there really demeans his own site. And god forbid you ask him why he allows nonsense to be posted in there. He hides behind claiming to be one of the last bastions of noncensorship in the media. The guy comes off as a self important, obsessive ass. And his mailbag is where other self important, obsessive asses go to congregate. Want evidence? Just take a gander at today's mailbag. I know someone who gave a set of Man Grates to their dad for Father's Day last year. When asked if he liked them, or if they really made a difference, their father kind of hemmed and hawed and eventually said he couldn't tell any sort of difference at all. The grates were gone by this past father's Day and their whereabouts were not dicsussed.

The TMOS was a whole infomercial for them a few weeks back. Their "grilling show" sounded like a complete CF. Allow me to say that I personally have been burned by Paul Bicknell. He managed to get my personal email address out of Dave Hughes (who insists on his site that he never gives personal information out) and persisted to pepper me with rambling and hateful emails all because I refused to acknowledge him as a DC radio legend. Also, he sent in a venomous post to the mailbag signed as it were from my spouse. And Dave Hughes posted it knowing full well it was fake! Trust me, I have old emails and facebook messages from Paul Bicknell that back up what I am saying.

I absolutely agree....The old farts of radio do stick together. They also detest the younger generation in the industry. Podcasts....Webcasts....Internet radio....all hated by them. And Bicknell imparticularly hates anyone younger than him and/or more successful than him. You're correct, he's only semi nice to you when he's angling for something. And once he gets it, you'll get trashed. Why does he care about Dave Hughes? Because Dave Hughes gives him an unedited forum where he can spew his hate, countless times a day.

Was. Been out for over 10 years; it wasn't voluntary. But it turned out to be the luckiest break ever, because my present industry isn't going down the tubes.
