Why the fuck is lff cleaning his gutters in August? And since he just bought a ladder, I assume he hasn't cleaned the gutters at all on a house he has owned for four or five years.

By the way WTL, I got your point even if ChadisFat didn't. Makes sense to me. Kinda like how I couldn't have half as many kids as the Octomom (probably cause I'm a dude) but she's still a horrible mother.

+1

Chad Is Fat is in denial. Just because I can dig a hole so deep that it caves in on me doesn't mean you should be jealous that you aren't stupid enough to dig a hole half as deep.

What does this thread have to do with Fairfax County.

MOVE IT OFF.

I started a thread on the impact of federal job cuts on Fairfax and it was moved off topic.

The moderator needs to wake up.

Well, when MOM was on WJFK, the WJFK studios were in Fairfax. It's been pretty established here for more than three years, so moving to OFF-TOPIC now would be kind of weird.

O'Meara has finally one-upped JFK in some way...he's probably celebrating already!!

20) WVRX [K&M 21st, Cerphe 23rd], 21) WJFK [Junks 12th, Wise 21st, Arrington 20th],

Oh god, another "you are O'Meara" delusion from WTL. Who ISN'T O'Meara on this thread?

It is so obvious that O'Meara fucked WTLs wife. It is the ONLY explaination for the enduring nature of this thread. So, WTL, was it a pussy or ass fuck that he did to Mrs. WTL? When was it? Will you ever get over it?

Chad's just trying to change the subject from the fact that he's still trying to defend the dubious proposition that cumulative download totals for the failcast have some kind of meaning.

Face it, LFF doesn't fit under the bed. The enduring nature of this thread arises from (a) O'Meara's amusing defenders; (b) O'Meara's long-time, well-established nastiness to people over the years (which leads us to enjoy his slow decline into oblivion); (c) the horrible nature (and low ratings) of the K&M show; (d) the horrible nature of the failcast; and (e) the complete denial of O'Meara to acknowledge his situation.

But thanks for playing. Every post helps!

Kind of sucks for the failcast when this thread is like the 4th thing that comes up on a google search of "Mike O'Meara".

Speaking of LFF; is he still on 105.9? I thought I remembered reading that him and kirk were on the way out.

Did mike finally get back from his vacation?

That vacation thing was peculiar. You got the impression from Kirk and Mike that it wasn't planned. Maybe a final "fuck you" to management from Mike. After all, how dare they employ him for a year and give him a chance to revitalize his radio career? Fucking assholes!!

I tried to listen to one of the podcasts this week. Mike spent about 15 minutes reading a conversation between two fans on the MOM show facebook page. How lame is that? He really lived up to his Lazy Fat Fuck nickname. And word to the person who said they act like Facebook is something new. They acted the same way about Amazon.

Then I tried to listen to This Week in O'Merica, because someone said it was better than the podcast. But I had the misfortune of listening to a show where Robb joined in. You should've heard Spewack holding court. Talked like he thinks he's Mr. Radio. He's every bit as much of an arrogant tool as Mike is.

Spewack also mentioned that he's going on the Weight Not diet soon. While discussing that, he mentioned that (at the age of 40) he's on medication for high blood pressure -- and another med for his liver! You know, when you have to take medication for your liver, you might want to stop drinking!! What an idiot.

The only show that's halfway decent is The Edge, thanks to Kirk and Shamrock's contribution. But Mike still comes off sounding like a blowhard, louthmouth ass.

Seriously. For a guy who complains about not making much money, he sure throws a lot of it around. He didn't bother to measure the height for the gutters, just goes out and buys a ladder. So, of course, it's too small. Everything he does is half-assed.

I heard his rant about buying a ton of groceries at the store too. But he claimed he didn't eat most of them. So what did he do, let it all spoil? What a waste of money.

Mike is not fighting his impending layoff from Citadel because he is considering .... no kidding .... running for the US Senate seat held by Jim Webb, who is retiring and not running for re-election in 2012. It makes sense now that Mike has been riffing on politics so frequently -- his rants totally appeal to a lot of people who are right now disgusted by politics.

This news is going to break in a few days - it will be a huge deal on the radio and on the podcast. He'll have to leave the radio show soon after he announces, but will be able to continue doing the podcast, but will probably move his production schedule to one day a week (recording five hours in a row) so that he can devote more time to first his exploratory work and second his campaign.

If it seems like Mike has been off his broadcast game lately, I'm sure he's preoccupied with planning his new political career. Mike has a big name in NOVA and is pretty well known throughout the rest of the state, too, and people are really anti-politician right now (except for Tim Kaine, most of the other candidates are non-politicians, just like Mike). I believe that Mike is going to find that the time is right for this move. I'll be proud to vote for him to be my next US Senator.

Nah Bryan, you've got it all wrong. I heard that Carla is going to leave Mike after finding out that he's banging that weird, Joker-faced Flo chick from those stupid-ass Progressive commercials. I also heard thru the grapevine that Mike's already got a position waiting for him as an Assistant Manager at the Public Storage on Sudley Rd (cuz that's where the money's at these days). Sure, he'll have to spend the night on-site, but that way he can let the house fall into foreclosure and still have a roof over his head. Robb is drawing up the blueprints to move the fraudcast into one of the storage units there because of "the awesome 1970s reverb acoustics the space will provide" (his words, not mine).

Oscar's going to leave the podcast because he's confident that he's got a Flight Attendant position lined up with Eastern Airlines after answering a 'casual encounters' ad "from a cool dude" on craigslist. To each his own I guess.

Buzz told me he's actually going to move out to his namesake city, Burbank California (out near my neck of the woods) because he's burnt out on having to deliver two-week-old news stories on the fraudcast printed out from the weird news section on msnbc.com. He tells me he's hoping to break into the 'adult features' business... not as an actor, but as a Foley artist. Since I lease my office space in the same building as Vivid Entertainment on Cahuenga & 101, I figure I'll try to use some of my pull to get his foot in the door. Hey, we all gotta start somewhere!

So somewhere along the way LFF decided to abandon his one true strength on the

radio. His vocal characterizations coupled with some improvisatioanl comedic

ability when doing the vocal characterizations. what? The new LFF seems to have

reared it's ugly head in the waning days of the D&M show when donnie g. didn't

show up for shows and took on full

fruition during the boring LLF solo show on wjfk. The new LFF thought he was to be a witty

raconteur who conducted interviews with the same skills as Larry King, wait poor

example, Larry never went on and on getting nowhere with long winded cliche

ridden questions. And then going to phone calls. Too me it was always donnie g.

who

was masterful at this with LFF occasionaly chiming in. When LFF does phone calls

well he pretty much sucks. callers too easily get his goat. thus the "pinch it" line

anyways do you think it was a conscious decision by

LFF to abandon his one radio gift for the blowhard he turned into foolishly

thinking the boorishness is entertaining. Or perhaps the boorishness and

pompacity was always there and donnie g. sat on him knowing he could use the

vocal characterizations to advance the D&M show. but LFF thought he was better

more talented than just making funny voices or maybe LFF has some physical

problems with his throat

and that forced the big change in LFF radio style

I think LFF believes voice characterizations are beneath him because that is what "second bananas do." There is probably some truth to that, but unfortunately for Mike, he doesn't have first banana skills. He isn't interesting. He is terrified of pushing the envelope (even when there is no envelope restricting him), he can't improve because he won't listen to any feedback that isn't positive and he surrounds himself with "ugly girls" so that he can be "the prettiest girl in the room," even if that room is his living room.

Donnie G. can crack you up by recounting his trip to the post office.

LFF could get blown by Megan Fox, and he couldn't tell the story worth a damn.

Laughing has it right: Don can tell stories, LFF cannot. A huge part of it is knowing what's funny. Don finds details which he can blow up into a great story. Mike thinks its funny to talk about his dog shitting on his floor.

I'm pretty sure LFF was there earlier in the morning. Heck, if K&M are off of the air as of tomorrow, LFF may have said, "Fuck it. I have a failcast to fail at." That, or maybe they were recording their "swan song" today.

O'Meara seems to have been mailing in his VRX 'performances' recently based on his attendance.

He's probably on a short leash and like the spoiled, fat brat he is, he's throwing a hissy fit and doing the minimum.

For what? His miserable podcast? Probably doesn't think his bad attitude and "calling sick" will affect his next gig - if there is one?

Yeah his attendance has been spotty lately...Made all the more fitting and ironic since on the air he's said things like (paraphrased) "let's just joke and have fun with the time we have" and "look, all we can control is our attitude's so let's keep our heads up and do the same upbeat shows!"

Great work ethic and career choice there LFF.

Maybe reality is starting to settle in. Maybe lff realizes he really needs his "janitor wages" from Duh Edge. Maybe he has had enough of the five other losers camping in his living room. Maybe they finally went through that Mangrates "windfall." Maybe Carla finally said, "Fuck this shit" and headed out for greener pastures. Maybe...

It sounded like Oscar was on K&M with Mike this morning. They took a survey on happiness and Mike said his was a "D" while Oscar said his was an "F." When they were asked about the state of their career, Mike said, based on his past success, that it was a "B+." Oscar said he had no career.

Things must not be going so well at Mangrates.

I think by career he meant his radio options. Big O and Dukes is basically back on indefinite hold for getting Oscar paid seeing as Chad re-upped with CBS.

So Oscar's radio career in the past 2+ years consists of the failcast and getting one little subsititute day on a drowning morning show with Mike.

Yeah, I would say that's quite worthy of an F for Mr. "Santana". As a businessman Oscar does well, but his radio career seems all but dead at this point.

It just puts to the lie this whole fake enthusiasm they have for the failcast. They obviously see it as a failure, yet they continue with it like something is going to change. It won't. It's a huge waste of time and energy and nothing good is gong to come from it.

O'Meara demands "possitive attitude" while he can't get his fat ass to work at the Dredge?

Ha!! Stupid Rob(b) went home this afternoon and waited for his wife to finish a 12 hour shift @ Target to tell her: You should have heard the joke I told about the Andy Griffith show at HH:MM:SS 00:12:23 - it was a hoot!!

So was the Oscar thing a Hail Mary pass by lff to save his janitor wage paycheck? Now that Kirk is temporarily out of the picture, do you think lff is going to management and saying, "listen to this radio gold! You can have it if you fire Kirk and Shamrock and hire the MOM living room crew!"

I think he has been looking for a way to get the living room krewe on the air since day one, and this was a good opportunity to start doing just that. I wonder how pissed Rob(b) must have been that he did not get asked to participate.

It has to be REALLY painful for Rob(b) to be passed over by O'Meara for the Dredge gig 'cause Rob(b)aye has those mad classic rock DJ chops as we've seen on his stellar KCJJ UStream videos.

Rob(b) knows how to rock - and O'Meara relegates him to the living room couch - that's cold!!

To play devil's advocate for a minute, it's possible Mike is having Oscar fill in for him to just give him some airtime while he can. If he knows he's losing the show anyway, it would be a nice thing to give Oscar a little time here and there so he can say he's worked on-air in the last couple years.

Nope. But does it sound like the Rob(b) we know to wake up at the butt-crack of dawn and actually go to a workplace and do something productive before 9 AM?

From the way Mike sounded on the podcast today it seems like he only got Oscar on The Edge to show Oscar "how hard Mike really works." More to kind of put him in his place rather than help him in any way. I could be wrong, but he even seemed extra gleeful that Oscar was late to the podcast.

How does he afford all the ingredients for his beloved old-fashioned anyway with NO JOB?!? Oh wait, isn't he some kinda high powered entertainment consultant? I almost forgot. Yeah, I caught that one. I wonder if the old LFF made Buzz drive over to the "Kathy Piper" studios for that BS.

I wonder if Buzz ever got paid?

It kind of seemed as if Buzz was at a loss when he delivered that newsscat, Seemed as if he were awkwardly compelled to pause at certain points as if he was expecting reaction or some sort of interjection. I guess he isn't able to establish his natural rhythm without LFF or Rob(b) interrupting.

I also loved the 3+ minutes of copywritten material (some tweenybooper shite) followed by 1.5 mins of dead air which was abruptly interrupted by some Oscar outtakes. I guess that would be the improvised Audio Vault? Whoever does their editing deserves a fat raise, but that would be assuming the individual gets paid in the first place...

Thanks... Although in the interest of accuracy it should have actually read:

"The Entertainment Services Division is led by Robb Spewak, a rusty nail on the chalkboard of Washington DC radio airwaves starting in 1992 and, against all odds, sustained until 2009."

Does Cary still Qualify for the WIC? I thought you had to have children under 3 (??), not just an overgrown man-child who is unable to find gainful employment.

That last part of your sentence should read "overgrown man-child who is UNWILLING to find gainful employment."

Using the word "unable" actually implies that Spewak has made attempts to look for work... which is hardly the case.

Mike and Kirk had another cheerleader on this morning. It never gets any less gross when you hear two old, fat, disgusting DJs, flirting with and pawing at a woman they'll never get. The funniest part was when they finally asked how old she was and she admitted to being 19. They backed off immediately. Honestly though, listening to them do that can't be considered entertainment for anybody.

Just got done looking at Spewak's pictures of the humble abode his WIFE pays for every month... The microphone collection on the mantel and the vintage black & white showbiz photos in the background are absolutely hilarious! What is the deal with this guy? This looks like a 13 year-old broadcasting nerd's bedroom! If Spewak would put as much effort into finding work as he does decorating the damn fireplace, maybe he'd have a job.

Clearly his wife can do better. Since I'm single, I'm extending an open invitation to Ms. Spewak to visit me on the west coast to see how a gainfully employed, nicely groomed, in shape, responsible, career minded gentleman about the same age as Robb lives. Something tells me she would not want to return to her portly man-child.

Rob(b)'s life can stand as a Costanza-esque example of what NOT to do. Don't hitch your entire professional life to a dying industry. Don't hook your career to one guy (who has a serious drinking problem, and a worse attitude). Don't treat everyone around you with unbounded arrogance until it's too late.

+1,000. If this were to be the end of this thread, that statement would be the perfect coda.

I wonder how many times Rob(b)'s wife has screamed the same simple points to the man-child? He'll never listen - he's going down in a big ball of flames.

Hmmm, did I just make a "plus sized" joke?

Jesus *is* an alien but I'm pretty sure he has a green card. He did a good job on my lawn after I gave him a ride from the Home Depot the other day.

Ep 409 is nearly all Rob(b), mostly about the Jerry Lewis Telethon

Ep 410, Mike asks for folks to paint the outside of his house for free

Yeah, I'm really sick of Mike trying to get everything for free, Tickets, yard work, house work, air conditioning work, free food at restaurants, limo rides, etc. And then acting like he's doing those poor bastards a favor. It's past annoying, it's incredible delusional. His name alone is not enough to make things happen.

So I take it the move is official?

I suggest we form an FFXU painting party and really give his house the paint job LFF deserves.

LOL. That would be funny. Call into the failcast and volunteer, show up, make it seem like a legit paint job for about an hour and then start painting "FFXU" "WTL" "LFF" "Rob(b)" "Failcast" all over the exterior.

Even better: Paint an even coat of color but paint on those acronyms and words with a brush dipped in something that will cause the discoloration of the paint over time. It would be like watching a picture develop and allow you to be far enough away that you couldn't be caught and whaled on. Literally: whale-d on.

Hi folks this Bob Barker for The Golden Boy, despite getting a lot more leisure time in the very near future he's looking for someone to paint his dilapidated unkept house(the neighbors just love him) for free. The benefit for the lucky painter is just occasionally being in the presence of the LFF. Balls

So he is appealing to the same listeners who won't come out to play golf and who won't show up at a bar in Herndon to spend a weekend painting his house?

Did they ever say how many people showed up in Boston? I don't remember any reference to that amount of people who showed up.....
