I would assume none, since they didn't mention it.

I hope LFF realizes that if he gets a couple of his low-IQ, out-of-shape listeners (think RJ) to paint his house with their unbonded, unlicensed skill set and one of them falls off a ladder and breaks an arm...or neck...that LFF is fully liable for this, right? I mean, there is a reason you hire professionals for this kind of thing instead of getting some numbnut to volunteer to do it.

C'mon...that requires foresight. Look at his career, finances, etc - evidence that this type of shortsightedness is his MO. But then again, maybe it's because he's not free.

Actually quite a number of people showed up (over a hundred), but almost all of them left early when things started to turn sour. For some reason Mike insisted on playing "She Blinded Me With Science" really really loud, and at first it was funny, but then they kept playing it over and over and over, and it was so loud you couldn't hear anything else. Seriously, like after 10 times it was frickin annoying and not funny AT ALL. People just started leaving, it was actually insulting but of course Mike thought it was hilarious because he kept yelling "SCIENCE!". Not cool at all and a shame he had to ruin what couldve been a good time.

Any good lie has a kernel of truth to it. Clearly, it's a lie because LFF isn't able to pull 100 people into a venue, even if he gave $100 to each attendee. But the kernel of truth is that it's completely believable that he would get drunk and think it was funny to yell "SCIENCE!!" every 30 seconds, so he would keep playing the song and beating a dead horse.

Odds are there were 100 people already there, LFF came in and grabbed a mic and in an over-modulated voice was drunkenly screaming "science." The patrons started to leave, the owner kicked the MOM crew out and that's why we haven't heard anything since...pure speculation, mind you. Not reported as fact.

I was dumb enough to be there for it. Beating a dead horse is an understatement.

I can buy it. On Thursday's failcast O'Meara starts with ten intros to the same Eddit Rabbitt song.

So O'Meara thinks repetition of unfunny bits is somehow actually funny.

Well, he does receive plenty of positive reinforcement from Spewack cackling in the background.

The podcast is so painful I don't see how anyone could endure more than ten minutes, I checked out after about minute #8.

There was one (and only one) interesting comment, O'Meara said "...I won't be stoppng the fatalistic humor on my radio show..." (OWTTE) - is that further evidence that Citadel will be pulling the plug?

That's pretty much been confirmed. It's not a matter of if, but when.

At least you only had to hear it, and not see some half-drunken fool embarrass himself by standing up and shouting "SHE BLINDED ME, WITH SCIENCE!!" every five minutes. It's not even funny once, let alone ten times.

I guess the gig had O'Meara-disaster written all over it - after all it was scheduled after a Sox game at a bar near Fenway Park.

O'Meara was probably drinking at 10am that day, by the time he hit the apperance site he had have been hammered. Great way to interact with your fans...

I think we all knew how that Boston meet-up would go. If the Red Sox won, Mike would get drunk to celebrate. If the Red Sox lost, Mike would get drunk out of disappointment.

One thing was for sure: Mike would get drunk. That man has the maturity level of a fifteen year old.

That incident must've been the trigger for his latest dingbat idea. Mike's decided to give up liquor and smoke weed instead. He's been asking Buzz for advice about it. (rolls eyes)

Now we all know Mike's incapable of giving up alcahol. He'll just become an alcaholic pothead. That should be interesting.

Someone needs to bring this up with the police in Manassas. Last time I looked, lighting up a blunt was illegal.

Mike's so irresponsible, I'm sure he won't let a little thing like that stop him.

You're right, Braintree. It's insulting. Mike doesn't put any thought into these things at all. He thinks his fans will lap up whatever garbage he throws out there, both on his failcast, and at his appearances.

I agree with Bodega Bob. Mike probably started drinking the second they hit Fenway Park. He was probably already sloppy drunk by the fifth inning.

Didn't he have a bad experience at a Caps game after drinking 12 beers? If that's accurate, who the fuck consumes that much beer to "have fun?". I've gotten blotto in my day, but there's no way in he'll I could drink that much without puking and blacking out.

Donnie used to do that thing where he would take something painfully unfunny and then think that by pounding it into the ground, it somehow became funny.

I think that may have been a different time.

It seems strange to me that they would keep having these listener get-togethers when they end with LFF not wanting to discuss it and dozens of alienated former listeners.

Bwahahaha! I'm not a snitch. But it's really stupid for LFF to discuss the benefits of smoking weed on a podcast that is probably listened to by minors and that goes interstate.

Robb is actually part native Anerican and is very proud of his Apache heritage. His ancestors were related to the Tribe of the Great Wolf. That's where they got the name Don Geronimo from.

+1. In the entertaining tradition 'Cat 2011' and ten intros to the same song to start a podcast.

It's no wonder O'Meara and krewe don't have writers, since anything they utter or think of is hilarious!!

that whole SCIENCE thing is probably related to that stupid Buzz skit where Buzz does a really dumb impression of Thomas Dolby with a keyboard(that he barely can play). it wasn't funny the first time and is even stupider the way Mike plays along with it. the show suxxx. think of a new idea for a change.

That's one of the major problems with the failcast; they crack THEMSELVES up, because they're all in the (tiny) club, and they've got this little list of inside stuff that makes them all chuckle. Everybody has jokes with their close friends that NOBODY outside that small group could possibly get. Yes, the old D&M show had inside stuff, but Donnie G. could draw people into the joke. LFF is the worst of both worlds -- the material isn't objectively funny AND we're not in on the (unfunny) joke.

anyone listen to duh Edge this morning? show started about 15 minutes later than norm of 5:22 a.m., and no can't quite figure out that starting time unless its to help lff and his long commute to slay the dragon(but don't kirk drive further, lff say who) LFF seemed in an uber bitchy mood, yeah even bitchier than the norm, and says sarcastically how he's working in the best radio station ever, kirk seems to have to do a ton of heavy lifting cause I get impression lff is having a period and ain't quite talkative at the start of show as is his norm
anyways i fell asleep only to awaken to lff interviewing the coach of Wash Capitals with his everloving boring long winded meaningless questions, I fell asleep again mid way thru interview

Why was lff in a bitchier mood than the norm? oh i did hear him say he spent friday night in his old bar drinking heavily, now called Old Towne Sports Pub and seems to be doing pretty decent business

I thought lff was drinking lightly these days BURP

LFF is probably bitter that someone is able to run a successful bar in that location. It means the problem was him and not the bar's location. He probably wants it to fail but realizes it is helping to pay that stupid lease he signed.

I believe this is what Rob(b) refered to as "a time dump" if you started watching because it was sooooooooooo funny. THIS is the humor that idiot finds entertaining...no wonder they haven't been picked up by any other radio stations...

Didn't they have "an affiliate" in BFE, Vermont? Whatever happened to that?

Mgmt up there tried ripping them off, accusing them and saying they weren't going to make good on their agreement, and Mike thought they were being very shady about things. Eventually Mike got sick of their shit so he picked up the phone himself and personally told them to "stick it where the sun don't shine."

Oh really? I wonder why they never said that...I just assumed, like so many others, they were let go for low/no ratings. How long did that last, a month? Less?

Make good on what agreement? Was MOM paying them? Were they paying MOM? Seems to me the only way to sell this piece of shit show is to give it away with an understanding about commercial clearances.

Fuck, if the "MOM Network" can't cut a deal with a bullshit low-watter in Fuckville, VT, who can they cut a deal with?

of course they were paying for the show, but they were making unnecessary demands outside of the scope of the agreement: demanding that Mike come up there for appearances, etc. somebody forged Mike's signature on a bunch of documents and finally he got pissed and really showed them the door.

Gotta call 'bullshit' on this one. It's pretty goddamn hard to envision a situation where Mike O'Meara would pass up the opportunity for a paid "appearance", and in "O'Merica" a 'paid apperance' is defined as sitting in a bar for two to four hours, followed by a dust up with a bartender or fan.

I think the contention is that the "scope of the agreement" didn't include paying LFF for personal appearances...that the station expected him to do promotional appearances within the structure of the agreement they had to carry the show. Given that "Mar Ronic" is LFF's "business manager," it's entirely possible the idiots put language in the agreement about how LFF would go up and promote the show without having a budget item to pay for it.

Makes sense. If there are no plane tickets, hotels and a open drink tabs, why would O'Meara promote anything?

That leads to another thought about the big fellas 'business practices'. Isn't it interesting that whenever O'Meara goes on 'vacation' either up north or to Florida, he mixes in the pleasure with an apperance or two.

I wonder how many 'vacation' expenses he writes off as business expenses when he spends a few hours in some bar in Fort Myers, Boston, or Canada.

I guess I shouldn't be so cynical - after all all the big guy is doing is bringing the funny to his adoring masses on the east coast of the US of A.
