Listened today to see if Mike gave away any details about the situation. The show was OK in my book until they got to the audio vault.

I haven't listened in a while, but it seems like Mike is going to get annoyed with Rob chiming in needlessly someday. Today Rob kept injecting himself and Mike would just move right past it.

No uproar. No cares. No big waves. A couple of posts on a website that hates on Mike is the only inkling that Mike O'Meara is even still alive. It is sad. The only thing Mike got out of losing his job is a handful of post on a website that hates on him. Mike really is more pathetic than Dennis Murphy and Tom Gavin combined. The only thing more pathetic than Mike right now is Rob, because at least Mike had a job. Time to end it boys.

So last Friday could have done the honorable thing and said the proper goodbye to his many fans and thank Kirk for a wonderful year and wish him well. was it more like the suits said yeah LFF all the paper work got done and we're making the switch now. LFF stands up tells them to kiss his ass on the way out the door and drives the escalade down conn. ave. Leaving Kirk blindsided and jobless. if this is close to actual scenario lff is truly king of the asshats

It's apparent that LFF said "fuck it" and left Kirk solo at the mic at the end of their show. I don't blame LFF for not saying goodbye to his "fan" because management probably preferred it that way anyway.

it was a great music station.

Mike isn't going to do shit or say shit. One, because it would take effort and two, nobody cares. Now he can go back to sitting on his fat ass and putting out some poorly produced, half-assed, pretend radio show in his living room.

No, it's not. First of all, he's too chickenshit to say anything really revealing. Second, nobody gives a fuck. We all know why he lost his job...shitty ratings. It's not like he had a Top 5 show and was undermined by some unscrupulous asshole. His show sucked...content-wise and ratings-wise. No fucking mystery there.

Honestly, what do you think Mike could possibly do to hurt his old bosses? The ratings sucked; the station switched formats. He probably acted like a diva all the time and no one wanted to put up with it anymore so they sure as hell weren't hiring him for some other station or something. (Edit: Also his show's ratings were shitty too so they had no reason to keep him on. He's lucky he'll still get paid out the rest of his contract.)

Most of the music stations have very limited commercials. Talk stations on SiriusXM like Howard still have commercials but less than when they were on regular radio.

I'm a huge fan of satellite radio. I really like all the choices, only place to still hear decent rock.

Plus a new company took over the station. It probably was an easy decision to flip a dead-in-the-water boring station with boring played out hits (and boring played out Deejays).

That's business.

It'd be hilarious if Mike unleashes some LFF-style venom on his newest former employers and jeopardizes and sort of buyout/severance that he may have been entitled to. Not to mention the damage already done to his future employability with that and other companies.

Not smart, but hey, might as well go down in flames now.

I've got Sirius -- I'm not aware that ANY of the music stations have ads. The comedy stations, yes. The sports stations, yes. But, as far as I've ever heard, the music stations are ad-free.

I could always count on him to make me laugh, and in the mornings, that's pretty much impossible, but he could do it. I thought he and Kirk were starting to be a really good team. I'm going to miss Mike. Some of his old bits are truly unforgettable. And for you haters, why don't you call Rush Limbaugh instead of insulting someone who for years has done what he could to entertain you.

Who'd pay 1-15k/month for an advertising schedule when you can get on groupons for free and have a check from them before the merchandise leaves your store?

So sad that his talent, like that of so many great artists, is apparently unappreciated by the public. You know, like, with ratings. Or jobs. Or cash.

I can agree that just about anything is better than that nonsense on WMAL. Lavar Arrington makes better supported arguments than those clowns. First thing I did on my drive in on Monday was take 105.9 off my presets. I would check 105 every now and then to see what was going on, but never stuck with it since they went to music all the time. If I want music, I can choose a song off the 16 GB thumb drive I have in my car stereo or the 64 GB iPod I have.

So the FM dial is pretty much just "traffic and weather on the 8's" for me these days. The rest is my own music and podcasts.

Okay, I took one for the team...

Mike is going to curse at the start of every failcast.
Neither Kirk nor Mike will reveal what really happened cos they love the severance packages...
Kirk loved beer bongs in college...
Kirk is starting a podcast with his brother that had a stroke.
They discussed Chalie Sheen's roast, Robb butted in with audio, who saw that coming?
Buzz is missing, hilarity did not ensue, oddly enough...
Robb's audio vault was both gay and shitty.

I need to take a shit.

Listened to the podcast today 9/20. Seemed like Kirk really had little to say and was there pretty much to plug his web tv site that's he's doing with his brother. Pretty boring show, in fact i fell asleep during 15 minutes of it. Oh Robbay can't you shut your mouth sometimes. Less is more.
Buzz was not there today they should have let Kirk do the news.

Surely Kirk and Mike knew their jobs were history in the very near future with Cumulus buying citadel. Maybe they should have done some major butt licking and tried to get jobs at some other Cumulus stations across the country . You know LFF trying for a job in his precious Florida and Kirk surely there's an opening at a cumulus rock station in the mid Atlantic.
Now that there's just a very few companies owning the vast majority of radio stations in the company LFF has got to see his options of returning to the days of glory are very very very very unlikely.

If LFF had a dollar for every time he said a given radio job/show "wasn't going anywhere," he wouldn't NEED a job. But now that he's off the airwaves, and there's no obvious landing place locally, and I don't listen to the failcast, I will admit that tracking the beached-whale-like thrashings of what's left of LFF's career will be less interesting. Iowa? Florida? Roanoke?

So, Doni is bringing in Ardinger to his show. He mentioned that it would be "someone from his past" and then proceeded to specifically say that it would NOT be "Mike, or Robb, or Buzz". A caller asked if it was Joe and he said "maybe", which is Don code for yes.

It must hurt to be completely out of radio and in the same week, a dude working at Lowe's is back in.

I think that's great for Joe Ardinger! Hell he'll be there for Halloween and can walk the streets of Sacramento with his wagon in tow offering beer to young and old. Tricks or Treats have a can o' beer!

Maybe donnie g. and slo joe, the world's oldest phone screener, will do a special Sacramento dance on the grave of LFF's radio career. Is The Golden Boy down for the count?

Robbay I understand there might be opening in sales soon at Lowe's.

Haven't listened to the show yet. This is funny as hell though and actually worth posting about. Can you imagine the raw hate Mike, Rob and Buzz have to be feeling right about now? I can't.

I guarantee you Mike thinks that he is responsible for at least half of Don's success and feels slighted. Rob also. And Buzz? I wonder if he regrets his little quip about Don falling off the stage now?

Remember Joe quit and walked off the show citing the fact that he couldn't deal with Mike's assholism. What a nice little fuck you. Good for Don.

Oh and I'm pretty sure Joe was the only one to garner well deserved respect from Don for actually going out and doing whatever it took to humble himself and take care of his family or even himself. I'm sure Don figured he can pay him more than Lowe's. It will be a good new start for Joe. I always liked the guy on the radio and he has to be amped about relocating and working with Don again.

Of all the TMOS people, I think Robb is the lne whp has to be most upset. He hooked himself to Donnie G, then got cast off...trained CK, and the gotnfired by him, and is now tied to Mike, who has failed at: radio, club dj, restaurant owner (twice?), radio(again), two marriages, program director, multiple diets, quitting smoking......am i. Missing something? Robb should apply to Lowes while that position is still open.

Yeah, aside from the failcast the next time LFF pops up on the radio will be for some simple disc jockey work. Little talking, more music/commercials. In other words, irrelevant.

To those 7 listeners that miss The Edge already... Enjoy!

Play it over and over again just like every other dime-a-dozen classic rock station in America does! Then you'll want to shoot yourself in the head!

Too bad today's not a Twofor Tuesday!

Up next, traffic & weather together!

hmmm they only have or had 3 stations in the market and yet the big boss man is already coming to lower the axe

hope the stink of LFF doesn't rub off on Shamrock and he gets canned

I'd think it would be funny if Shamrock ended up producing a certain radio announcer's show in Sacramento

LFF's head might finally esplode on that one

Morning majority is next I hope. It is just a right wing version of chad and dukes-instead of "what color is a good one for skins helmets during the dallas game/" you get "ok people, call in and do you think hillary should run?" Both shows are driven simply by callers and then sprinkled with b-list guests from yahoo sports or politico. When I listen I realize that the same callers call in every damn day to the respective shows. There is nothing on the radio anymore.

With the paucity of radio shows on in the morning these days, I've been resorting to listening to the Junkies off and on during my drive to work. I'd say that of the three days I tuned in, appx. 20 minutes each time, I have heard them talk about sports for maybe two minutes. How do they get away with that on a sports-only station?

Sorry to hear about the Edge, but let's face it Mike it was more like a "Plain Jane" radio show. You need to hook up with a partner again like Don. You guys had almost perfect chemistry. If that isn't a possibility find someone like him, someone opposite yourself. Remember Abbott and Costello?

Dude,
I am sooooo late to the party (on vacation last week). I just heard Don mention this morning that you'll be joining the show at KTHK/KBZZ. Congrats, man! It's gonna be awesome to again hear that killer Cockney accent of yours.

Mike was an asshole to Joe on the old show. I think it was around the time Mike realized through his self induced alcoholic haze that his dream of running a successful restaurant/bar went straight in the shitter. For some reason he dialed in on Joe to pick on and make his life miserable.

Joe quit, citing Mike as the reason. Don made Mike ask him to return on the air and Joe did. After Don left Joe still worked as the call screener but was notably absent from the air. I'm sure Mike made the decision thinking Joe had no talent and would be detrimental to the shows success. And I'm sure he thought he was getting back at Joe also.

Now Joe's leaving on a jet plane to a new future. Mike is descending into his basement.
