What about when the failcast is mailed pwesents?

How do they get to the "broadcast studio?"

Picture an absolute best case scenario (you're going to have to imagine quite a bit here):

The failcast sells out the State theater's 800 seats at $21 a ticket. That's $16800. Ronic sets up a card table in the lobby, and has Jabari hawk old t-shirts and the Iowa DVD, and each person in the entire audience buys at least one $20 item. That's another $16000. The theater doesn't charge them rent, but agrees to take its profit from drink sales. Mike and Robb are strict on wate-nott, so there's no bar tab (I said you'd have to use your imagination).

Divide that by the five principals, and it's about $6500 each, before taxes. In a dream scenario. And they think this is a terrific idea.

No wonder Mike can't pay his bills.

Here are some things to assume...

The State is a business. They are charging LFF what they charge every other act to use their stage. For six hours, it wouldn't surprise me if they are forking out $5 or $6K. I doubt LFF will get much of anything from "the bar." And they won't be anywhere near 800 people. And aren't they giving the DVD away at the show?

If each one of these guys clears $1K from this, that will be a good showing.

Plus they have to pay the band and Elvis impersonator, so the ideal amount they would each make before taxes drops closer to 5k.

If its all just a goof, etc. why post the address? Who would want the address? Sure most ppl won't do anything with it. Should we post his credit card number for a goof too? It's ridiculous.

holy carp page 149 so fast

don't forget to factor in the cost of the girls if they have any

michael hoover is pretty well known so I'm gonna guess he gets around $1500

and blackgold, oy is this marc ronnick's brothers band?

5-6k seems a tad heavy for what the state theatre charges

but if things were going hunky dory financially for the failcast they wouldn't be charging much if anything and this would be a celebration for the fans of the show
you know like old time radio stations did in the 1990's and early 2000's before the crash in radio
instead this looks like just another attempt to create a new revenue source for the failing failcast

stolen idear from boad

You're excused. But you keep parroting Carl Grossman's philosophy on privacy so I had to assume he was someone you admired. I'm sorry your friend died but he was wrong. That's why he was prosecuted and pled guilty.

Everything WTL says is spot on. When it suits O'Meara he'll divulge anything to get what he wants/needs. Begging for free house painting on his "professional podcast" is about as low as you can go. Was a line crossed there?

If O'Meara is such a saint, why did he appear on KCJJ and disrespect the employer who was actually paying him on WVRX and say he was receving "janitor's wages" for all his hard work at VRX? Didn't that cross a line?

I'm sure you already have your VIP ticket to the State show, so go with God, laugh yourself silly, spend $6 each on a few beers and during a break maybe you'll get to pat Rob(b) on the back.

I'll bet you won't wash your hand for a month after magic moment...

Grossman was showing up at WJFK and violated a restraining order. Our opining about LFF's shitty failcast on this forum, one that he has no association with, is nothing like Grossman.

I think LFF crossed the line when he took equipment from WJFK and used unlicensed content on his failcast.

Well, LFF's credit card # is not publicly available information. But I do agree with you, there is no reason for his address to be posted up here. People probably do it just to get a reaction. I'm not defending the action, I'm just saying it's not worth getting upset about, that's all.

Mike was advertising the fact the floor was all but sold out. I have no idea what that means, is that good? How many tickets would that be? Is that based on the tables being set up, which of course reduces the footprint. They may be doing very well in their ticket sales, but I have no idea. .

state theatre usually has a large open space in front of stage for folks to stand and get closer look

i think they have put tables in there for special acts

for lff geez i wouldn't think so unless the vip's get space closer to the stage

lff and ronic trying to monetize this thing to nth degree to stick it to their loyal fans
thats sounds about right for lff

it sounds like they will sell enough tixs and make a profit. I love the failcast because it makes me feel better about my life. If they can make some bread doing the state good for them-Id never shell out the cash to go. And the podcast is a daily treat of fail for me-kinda like this thread

I do find that funny. With all their bitching and maoning about trying to move forward and make the podcast succeeed, they don't seem to try too hard at it.They take holidays off like they're still on radio with regular jobs.

Even Adam Carolla had a show Monday...now that's a podcast that really tries to do the best it can.

Everything they do turns a profit. That's why they get threats from the city to shut off their power.

What I want to know is what "fan" is stupid enough to pay $21 to see them when they could have seen them for free on SuperBowl Sunday?

I noticed Carolla has expanded his podcast to two hours because of all the advertisers he has now. LFF simply doesn't have the critical mass of listeners Carolla does to be successful at this. Pride is a sin, you know.

I hear MOM and the krewe bitched about the folks who turned up for their Super Bowl party. Apparently the people weren't "into it" enough for Mike and the gang. I believe the term was "they were like an oil painting".

Great way to treat the fans who come out to see you, you prick. How about being grateful anyone showed up?

As for taking Monday off, that's a joke. Mike, you just took a Monday off becuase you were too hungover to come downstairs and sit on your couch and talk. Did they put an old bonus show up instead? If so, that's a nice "FU" to the people who already paid for it earlier. Pricks

Cost of checking "Will-Attend" on FB: zero.

Cost of actually buying a ticket: $21.

Likelihood that that people who checked "Will Attend" will attend: Low.

Cost of drinks and food at the State: Call it another $30 if you don't hit the booze too hard.

Likelihood that the LFF failcast gang will turn anything remembling a real-world profit on this event: Darned near zero.

My amusement: Priceless.

Yeah but what part of the line is that? I mean you can see motorcycles partly out of the picture on the left side. That looks like a potentially large misrepresentation. They need to take a picture of how many people actually show up for their live show to give a realistic idea of if this is failing or not.

You can look at their photos, if you want. I would say that at most they had 10 riders not affiliated with the show.

Has anyone seen a group photo from the Fattyshack get totgether or the Super Bowl Party? I remember Mike did a poker run in the rain or some such thing, and then something for Fisher House. I would hate to admit it, but is it possible he actually pulls people to these events?

If he did, he would have photos of the people. The reason why he does live events associated with events like the Super Bowl and St. Patrick's Day is so he can claim (inaccurately) that everyone is there to see him. The reason the people at JOTT's were "an oil painting" on SuperBowl Sunday was because they were there to watch the game, not listen to LFF.

He did have one cycling event that drew a lot of people, but that was through The Edge. Just goes to show you a shitty rated morning show in this market has infinitely more pull than his "12 Million Downloads" failcast.

I won't argue any of those points. It is interesting to see none of the "fans" or "downloaders" post pisctures from these events.

We know he got sloppy drunk at Fattyshack. We know he got sloppy drunk at the Super Bowl party. Any reason to believe he won't be sloppy drunk at the CATastrophe?

If I held an event and had a bunch of people show up, i would highlight that, reference the number of people, etc. When you never show a picture, refernce the number of people and in the end, call them an "oil painting", then it means nobody showed up.

Mike, face it, nobody wants to come see you. What do you offer them? two dudes kissing? Already been done. Some games like your old las Vegas Style Show? doubtful, that was all Don's idea. So why would people want to come hang out with you anywhere, anytime? to watch you get smashed? THAT is the only thing you can offer.

About the State theater show. Yuk it up all you want, but if it gets the fat schlub out of my hair for one night, as far as I'm concerned it's all good. Just one evening of silence, well, silence and margaritas, without the whining and bitching and moaning, the endless petty grievances.

Except I'll have to deal with his hairy hungover ass the next morning, and God knows what else...fat lip, busted kneecap, tire tracks down his back, gravel embedded in his jowls.

And do you know how hard it is to get diarrhea out of my good sheets?

went to State theatre yesterday to purchase tickets for Catastrophe 2012

( I sold some plasma so I had some extra cash, yeah funny, u mean funny like lff....).

It will be usual concert set up for CAT 2012. Open space in front of stage

with the reserved tables behind this area and to the sides. Unreserved

tables behind the soundboard which is located a little bit over midway on the

main floor. Upstairs seating will be general admission. I got the impression

from the young lady in the ticket booth that plenty of tickets were still

available.

It is most curious that so few pictures and videos from past LFF failcast

meet and greets have turned up online. You'd think that amongst these

legions of fans that apparently show up to see the Golden Boy a couple would

post stuff online. Isn't that something.

Not even much at the LFF website after these fantabulous events. Now lets go

to the phone

Given that you will be the only one there, you've probably just outed yourself to LFF.

So fat, drunk LFF walked up to someone in the band and tried to fuck with his guitar and got slapped? Yep, it's that guy's fault. Can't possibly be something LFF did.

just wait until a room full of people at the State Theater start booing him. What's he going to do, try and fight them all? Just remember, a good slap to his face will take care of everything.

Well I endured the first 12-15 mins. of today's podcast, and O'Meara admits to having beem slapped, but said he's the "new Mike" and didn't start trouble. He did admit to diminished capacity so he had to ask his wife if the did anything to start trouble. Oh, this all occurred after the bar (across the street from "Okra's (?)" in Old Towne Manassass) was closed.

O'Meara also said Manassass was a "uniary tract" and he will go elsewhere to have fun since he can't go any where in M-town. I guess trouble follows the big guy.

The krewe said they had sold 600 tickets to the State gig, and they would open the upstairs seats in the State and expected a complete sell-out.

Well, that surprised the hell out of me - I didn't think the State gig would draw flies. I'm astounded that 600 folks would shell out $21 plus drinks to stand for O'Meara and krewe for 3 - 5 hours.

That sadden me...

There is NO way they've sold 600 tickets. As WTL wrote - they may have given away 600 tickets, but sold? C'mon... They've probably sold 35 and that's only because there are idiots in this world.

EDIT: Two dumb spelling fixes.

nah you can tell they sold all those tixs...lff was all stressed out 2 weeks ago about selling them, to the point that he was pressing oscar and the crew about it constantly. I would never plop down 21 bucks to see robb et al, but dont hate on them for selling 600 tickets. LFF is way too cheap to give any away and you can tell by his smug demeanor the past few days when he was told they sold em all compared to his freaking out about not being able to sell the required amount to make some cash.

You have no evidence that there is "no way" they couldnt have sold 600. And I have the fact that LFF is fat and happy about it and it seems like a real fat and happy.

But watch he will overreach and book another date, a date that will be too soon from this one and they will sell half as many.

But dont hate and who cares...if it prolongs the fail cast Im all for it because its better than lavar for my afternoon commute home

Maybe he sold 600 tickets, maybe he didn't. The truth will come out on March 31st. Of course, "sold" and "attended" are two different numbers. Let's see how many of these tickets end up on Craiglist for $5 or in the garbage when people realize they plunked good their money for CATastrophe 2012.

They can't sell their Road Show DVD, they can't get people to turn out for a free SuperBowl Party a couple of weeks ago, but they sell out the State Theatre? No...there's something not right with this situation. Either they gave away a bunch of comps or they are counting people who said they are going on Facebook as solds or something. I find it hard to believe they have failed at every event and then suddenly they sell one out.

NOW it makes more sense. "Buy a policy and we'll give you a ticket to some hack-podcast show".

I did not realize they had a sponsor, or even needed a sponsor. The Mike O'Meara name should be enough of a draw, right?

Until a few months ago I never heard of Oncor, now they are paying for two major TMOS projects (Iowa and the State Theater). Is TMOS really bringing in that much business for Oncor they see the need to subsidize these projects?

Quite obviously Oncor bought out the place.

They credit Oncor for making the show possible, so it is obviously subsidizing this venture at some level.

Heck, I HOPE it's here to stay, and I probably listen to one every three months. But LFF (in his prior incarnation when he thought the sun shone out of his fat ass) treated some people I know VERY badly, and I will continue to enjoy his spiral down.

Did you catch yesterday's show? Mike's too lazy to take down the xmas tree. It's the last week in February!

What the hell does he do all day? The show is only one hour and it's recorded in his living room so he doesn't even need time to commute. He "works" one hour a day, but he's trying to get interns to do his house work?

You need a job, Mike! Get off your fat ass and work! Those bill collectors don't care if you were rich ten years (and three wives) ago!

How does he justify laziness like that in his own mind?

Time is money and Mike wastes 23 hours a day. That's why he has no money.

I also enjoyed Mike's confusion over the Joaquin Phoenix movie. He really thought he was watching a documentary. You know, 'cause projectile vomiting and sniffing cocaine and stumbling around incoherently... you can't fake that in a movie. It has to be real!

Then he got pissed at Oscar for pointing out his obvious stupidity. "I watch TMZ too!!!"

Mike fails every time he tries to talk about movies. How does anyone confuse "Paint Your Wagon" with "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof", "The Man Who Loved Cat Dancing" and "Cat Ballou"?

I'm beginning to think that Mike's just not very bright.

Don was a bully.

I used to be rich.

Don moved Joe Ardinger out to Sacramento and gave him a job but he never calls me.

Robb and RJ keep losing weight so I'm going to lecture everyone about being fat.

Buy our sponsor's weight loss plan, even though it failed me miserably.

I can still call RJ "fat" because I'm fat.

I'd like to lose weight but I hurt my knee when I fell down four months ago trying to fight a guy.

I was drunk.

Sorry I missed the show the day after the Super Bowl.

I was upstairs in bed, sleeping off a mean drunk.

Isn't it funny when I tell you all these stories about how drunk I get all the time?

Hahaha! I'm such a funny alcoholic!

My third wife broke up with me before we got married because she wanted kids and I already have two that I can't support from my second marriage.

I won her back when I lied to her and told her that I'd marry her and I'd "try" to get her pregnant.

Is it MY fault that neither of us can find my shrunken Irish penis?

I need help moving my stomach out of the way.

Thanks for listening!
