Holy crap, I never put 2 and 2 together before, but that's ABSOLUTELY what he did... No wonder it failed and he couldn't pay his staff (after promising they'd all get paid), he drank away all the profits.

That call sucked. Let them play. The third baseman didn't try to stop the guy going home. He was just trying to get up. If anything this should piss the BoSox off and give them a reason to win the Series. Weak call IMO.

The Sox just lost on a disputed call, poor Carla. She is probably running down the hall using the baby as a shield while she dodges suitcases and empty liquor bottles. Note to self, skip Monday's show.

Bullshit. How do you get up by lifing your legs up at the knees while laying on your stomach. It was blatant obstruction and a poorly executed attempt to cheat. You sound like a fat drunk baby.

For the record, I suport whichever call will result in unobstructed throwing of suitcases and unobstructed and uncontrollable eating and drinking. Runner obstruction, Cards win.

I don't know if intent plays into it or not. The runner was obstructed. It's the job of the fielder to get out if the way, whether he meant to be in the way, or not.

From the New York Times:

Middlebrooks, on his stomach, lifted up his legs. Whether or not it was intentional didn’t matter. Craig, who called his route home an obstacle course, stumbled over him.

“The base runner has every right to go unobstructed to home plate,” Joyce said. “and unfortunately for Middlebrooks, he was right there. There was contact, so he could not advance to home plate naturally.”

The rule states that if a fielder who is not in the act of fielding a ball — including if he dives for a ball that gets past him — obstructs a runner, he gets the next base, regardless of his intent.

“I don’t see how it’s obstruction,” Saltalamacchia said.

Someone get Saltalamacchia a rule book because he's full of shit, just like Mike. If the runner hadn't been TRIPPED, he would have been safe at home. If you suddenly allow the fielders to trip runners, it's going to change the game completely. I hate the Red Sox BS. "We don't shave, we're so cool!" Ugh, just lose already so Mike can eat and drink uncontrollably for the winter.

Exactly. He is an anchor on the show. His segments aren't funny. His contributions aren't funny and often grind the show to a halt. Mike needs to throw loyalties aside and make a move to improve the show.

Blob(b) is an "anchor" because LFF is lazy as hell and moved forward with whatever fell into his lap when Don bailed, and Robb has no marketable skills or better prospects. I wonder if all his "Robb brings the funny" is just rationalizing the situation he is currently in, or if he actually believes it. Along the same lines of his "I don't want to be on the radio anyway" logic after being shown the door for a third time.

From this week's bonus show, LFF brings his masterful show prep skills to the living room studios with another cold read of a top X list. In this case, he doesn't even know what X is, and starts out liking the list, but ends up saying it sucks.

(Confident) "Wanted to talk about scary halloween fun, and what better way to start our scary halloween fun, ladies and gentleman, than with a survey by ePoll market research: Who is the world's creepiest celebrity. We have 11 total- check that, 13 celebrities listed as the creepiest celebrity. I love this list, I think this list has some validity to it."
...
(Validated)"Now the list starts to make sense to me."
...
(Confused) "This list goes backwards and forwards..."

(Surprised) "#1 creepiest celebrity... this list sucks, Marilyn Manson."

Also, 48 minutes in, LFF is doing a schticky hillbilly witch doctor voice in response to LOLscar's mother taking him to see a Bolivian witch doctor/fortune teller when he was little, and the witch doctor predicting the success of his siblings, but not of Oscar:
"Well, it seems that he'll be part of America's number one Failcast!"
Thanks for the shout out, FDB.

If you are a long-time fan, like me, how depressing is it that Mike invariably hates the dumb lists he reads as much as the listeners, but he will not put any effort in? He unironically thinks it sucked, and we agree.

This is the "premium" content? Creepiest Hollywood celebrity? So bummed.

On my first read of your post, I thought you were making up a terrible scenario that could happen in the coming week. Then I realized this actually happened. Now I am sad.

EDIT: Just listened to the bonus show preview in iTunes. Mike answered his phone again during the taping. So awful to listen to and so unprofessional. And that's what anyone previewing their "premium" content gets to hear. I am not as strong as all of you. I have to pray the show gets better or pray that it ends soon, so I can stop listening.

Mike made it very clear on Friday's show that he had announced the previous day (in response to news of Don's return to WJFK) that there would be no DnM reunion and that it was "confirmed by Don later, *after* Mike had already made the announcement."

Can any one person be more delusional than Mike O'Meara?!

Sure Mike, Don was just waiting to get your take on the whole reunion and it weighed heavily on his very difficult decision to leave your failed ads right where it is: the shit-stained living room studios of the 1903 Vic.

I wish one of those ass-lickers that Mike keeps around him would point out the stupidity, inconsistency, and hypocrisy of what spews out of TMOS every day.

Did anyone catch the show where Oscar is talking about his health care provider dropping him and forcing him to go in to the screwedup called Obamacare?

Not one of them brought up Obama's oft repeated lie.. "If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan".

Being dropped from your health care plan because of this Obama debacle is an outrage. Being forced to buy into this inefficient extravagant govt plan is terrible. And the boobs that say, 'well, I'll just pay the fine, because I can't afford any of the Obamacare plans' are idiots! Paying for nothing when you can't afford it is outrageous. How in the heck did we get in to this mess?

Because if we stop talking about the failcast then no one will be talking about the failcast - so Robb has to come back and stir the turd to keep the forum going. As interest continues to wane, he'll probably do all the posts himself - it's literally the only PR they've got, if you will.

Given that TMOS gives us new material every day, and the fact that I am an (albeit disgruntled) fan, I am against reaching for material. With that said, some of the criticism here of the speech is a little exaggerated. To the extent that I was surprised when I actually heard it, because I expected something else entirely.

Well stated and I agree for the most part. Whenever sex with O'Meara's daughters or the racist stuff comes up I think most of the regulars do a fine job of simply ignoring them into nonexistance. Fancy Pants however puts in a consistant effort and is a worthy opponent. For me, and maybe it's just me, his counter points, however misguided, allow for the opportunity to explain my stance on the show. Maybe I'm on an island here but, like the show, it's no fun if we all agree all the time.

Message for Mike: Yes, there are a lot of "haters" here. There are people that will hate you no matter what you do. But there are a lot of disgruntled fans posting and lurking here who just want a dynamic show. But how can one even start to aggressively defend this product? Stop giving the haters ammunition. Retool the show.

Nothing major (like firing somebody), but make it interesting. Scrap the news, or only cover one news story a day. Scrap the audiovault, or just do one clip a day. Have some new segments, or go for an "formatted nonformat" free for all improv thing like Jordan Jesse Go. Listen to your competition. Beat them. Too many minutes sound like you are just trying to waste an hour. Shorten the ads...believe me, we know the sponsors. Doing a 4 minute WeightNot shill in month 8 is a waste of your and our time.

I know you can do it man. I'm addicted to podcasts, so I continue to listen despite my gripes. But the current show is the most uninteresting and low effort thing on my iTunes. You're better than that. You're an effin DC metro star, for Pete's sake.

I'm rooting for it. Not only would a good show be better for my iTunes (and your pocketbook), it would make things more interesting around here.

Mike getting pissed at some kids for goofing off at a baseball game instead of wildly throwing luggage and pork chops any time the Sox are down.

Classic bitter old drunk.

There are going to have an AV setup and play videos and a slide show at their live event.

The guys drove around town and filmed Mike and the crew at a couple of places for their "video skit". WJFK, O'Meara's, Maryland, etc.

It's pretty sad that they need filler for their live shows. I would be pissed if I had to watch a f-ing video.

I luv it when Mike claims a perfect Bill of Health based off of test results he received after a potential heart attack...George Luvs that he ate a Pork Chop while recovering from said cardiac situation...Delaying the the very tests he claims give him a Clean Bill of Health...I also luv the fact he couldn't get Health Insurance even though he is perfectly healthy, except for his sleep apnea...

So LFF is going to revisit his biggest failures in a video? He's going to go to WJFK (I'm assuming the old studio that is no longer WJFK) and relive his firing? And the location where O'Meara's bar used to be before he ran it into the ground? And Maryland, a state full of failures for him, I presume.

Mike ranted about sports/rich people for a while. I'm giving Robb's musical choices a pass because he was honoring a musician's death. And surprisingly, Mike agreed with the controversial call from the game the other night. Normal run time. Normal ad time. Not a great show today, but not shitty either. So no detailed stats for today.

So glad the Sox won. I hate the Sox, but every win turns into "an evening" and every "evening" pushes Mike closer to rock bottom and his eventual rehab and recovery.

Also, I love when the Sox lose. Every loss turns into "an evening" and every "evening" pushes Mike closer to rock bottom and his eventual rehab and recovery.

WAKE UP OSCAR AND ROBB!!!! YOU ARE NOTHING MORE THAN A MODERN DAY "SONNY AND REDD (WITH TWO D'S)"!!!!

LFF hates the rich now because he used to be one of them. When he had money, he treated those who didn't like shit. Now he gets pissed by every unintended or imagined slight by a wealthy person because he assumes everyone with money has the same asshole agenda he did when he had it.

Mike has the weirdest class warfare mentality. A healthy mix of jealousy, hypocrisy, and obliviousness. I won't rave out on him again, but I had to skip forward.

Class Warfare + "My Sports Aren't Popular Enough" = automatic fast forward.

Look, I'm a basketball fan. I live and die by the NBA season. I don't give a damn if more "idiots" (agreeable Robb would throw a "duh" in) want to watch another sports.

Also, you can tell Robb doesn't get it. Nobody goes to the club level to be seen. That's what the Kennedy Center, country clubs, Georgetown cocktail parties are for. Those rich ladies in fur coats are there BC their jerk husband makes 600k and likes football. I never understood this long-running part of their criticism. To the extent that there's any real snooty hobnobbing, it's in the boxes.

I think his weirdness goes a level deeper too; he called some girl a "bitch" because by his logic, her daddy must have gotten her the ticket and she wasn't paying enough attention. I think that's some transferred guilt from not even being able to pay for his kids' college tuition at this point. So the entitled people who make money all suck, and so do the children of people who make money. No exceptions, this is the FDB Truth.

Like many other parts of his life (fatherhood, podcasting, you name it) O'Meara is a complete fraud as a baseball fan. He is only interested while his team is still in it. He tries to portray himself as this lifelong passionate baseball purist but that is complete bullshit. Last year around this time (and I remember this clearly because I am a SF Giants fan) Rob asked him what he thought of the Giants game (the night after they won a WS game). O'Meara replied, yeah they lost. He thought Rob was talking about football. This lifelong baseball lover was not watching the world series. If you don't watch the world series, no matter who is playing, I'm sorry, you can't call yourself a passionate fan. What a piece of shit.

"My Sports Aren't Popular Enough." What the fuck is he referring to? Baseball? Basketball? Hockey? They all get covered on TV to some degree. If there weren't so many fucking games, they might be on every Sunday like football. People don't follow basketball or the NHL in the regular season because the regular season is pointless. Even the leagues realize this. That's why the post-season for the NHL and NBA are so fucking long now.

Just a note about a comment made on Monday's show that floored me. LFF and Robb were acknowledging the passing of Lou Reed, even though it was obvious neither was familiar with his music but both knew enough that it would be perceived as hip to give Lou props. Then LFF mentions that Marcia Wallace had also passed and proceeds to say that as the secretary she was the center of the comedy on the Bob Newhart Show............are you fucking kidding me?
This from a self proclaimed expert on comedy.
