Exactly...It's not like his name is Robbert...It's one of those attention seeking tactics he uses to passively suck all the air out of the room..."I spell Rob with 2 Bs"....You know he did it just so he could correct people...

Did he have his way when Rob suggested an accident victim be left for 3 days to see if they came back like Jesus did? Twice in two days. He wasn't klubbed then.

What's funny is the whole podcast is catered to and still restrained by one shitty radio station in Iowa. TMOS is no different than any other radio show. They (O'Meara and crew) still don't get it.

Mein Kampf for the win. Fact is, Rob shouldn't even be in his kid's middle school yearbook. He loves Nazis. It might be "a joke," in his mind. But the murder of innocent people simply because they were Jewish should never be a joke. Rob is a deplorable human being. Rob jokes about dead Jews and women having their faces ripped off by chimps, but WE are the "dark" ones. No wonder CBS won't have anything to do with that piece if shit.

Robb, after WJFK's TMOS cancellation: "Mostly what I remember at that time is drinking a lot. There was never any reason to get up early or to go to bed at any sensible time. You think, 'Another drink? Sure, why not?'"

Yeah, why not?

So, one of the things I don't understand about TMOS, is clearly they don't like us. Ok, but I don't think they have ever attempted to "bring us back into the light".

Maybe some TMOS member made some posts here, but I don't think LFF, Head, or Bikini Slapper has ever popped up and said, "Hey, let's talk this out".

Why is that?

This thread is one of the major google returns for searching on TMOS, even those idiots should realize that it is better to keep your enemies closer than your friends.

Yet, they don't seem to understand. I'm sure they chalk it up as "haters gotta hate", but we come out in force more than their fans do.

I don't understand why one of those morons just doesn't pop up here and ask for a debate.

Maybe we are all wrong and they are executing on some grand plan that we can't see the light of.

It just seems strange to me. When I get a bad review on a textbook or paper that I write, I ask the person what the deal is. Often I missed something or I didn't explain the context correctly. Some things are totally alien to me, like "hey don't use red and green graphs without explaining which line is which, since I'm red - green color blind". Ok, I can understand that I'm ignorant of that viewpoint and I'll try to not do that in the future.

I simply don't get any level of awareness like that from TMOS.

So, if the LFF showed up here and said:

Hey, fucksticks this isn't an AMA, I'm doing this and out, lick it, pinch it, ...

1) Yes, I chucked a suitcase. No, it didn't leave a mark on Carla
2) Yes, her and her mom were strippers. Whom to better ride the pole than a 2nd gen stripper.? Jelly now?
3) We know the show sucks, but the mouth breathers keep us in $, so why change?
4) I never slept in the parking lot of a casino. It was at a rest stop just over the border
5) Oscar has given me more than 1 BJ
6) Buzz was an insufferable cunt, fucking rockets
7) Yes, I bought the snow blower with show money
8) Ronic couldn't sell a t-shirt to save his job
9) Yes, I hate Don and his success
10) Rob(b) is the funniest man I know

Peace out

"Yay!" he squealed when he caught sight of his plaid jacket. Followed quickly by "Nooooo!!!" when he saw that miserable middle school yearbook staff had failed to add his beloved second "b" to his name. Sets him apart, makes him special, don't you see? "Why can't anyone understand?"

The rest of the night I've heard what sounds like Faye Dunaway as Joan Crawford emanating from his Elvis room. He's not watching Mommie Dearest, mind you, it's Robb.

Does he think that wearing his beard that way makes him look thin? I can't figure it out. It won't look good no matter what he does but this just... stops. It's like it is ill fitting. Like a t-shirt that hits 3 inches above his belly button. He wouldn't wear that but somehow it is acceptable for facial hair? No, man. Fix that shit. Either shave it all off or let it all grow. Even worse, he's told the story twice and it still isn't clear. Something about a cardboard note or advertisement under the wiper, or not. Also, even in the temperate climate of Florida, wouldn't you prioritize the vehicle your wife and infant son are using on a regular basis over your fucked out, post-midlife crisis, rarely used, "hog"?

They could even have the best of both worlds ... record whatever podcast they want to, and then edit it down to 80 radio-friendly minutes before submitting it to KCJJ. I've never understood why they don't do that.

Seconded. Ultimately the '80 minute CD' thing is just an excuse to do minimal work. That isn't news to anyone. It would be nice if they thought enough of their audience to just say it. Don't insult us.

No, this is something that really just clicked for me as well. They have actually edited shows down for KCJJ before, it is not a hard and fast time slot limit. It's just too much work to do on a regular basis. Or, you know, they could buy the dumbfucks in Iowa an ipod, zune, sansa clip or any number of mp3 players that don't have an 80 minute maximum. Or play the mp3 file off a computer of some sort. They'd be totally fucked if they hadn't upgraded their cassette tape playback setup!

Mike's of the opinion that interviews are filler. "Filler" in this case means something that requires a) someone to book an interesting guest, and b) someone to do some interview prep. "It ain't that hard," to quote you, Rob.

The conveniently-located DC studio Oscar built ostensibly was going to result in many prominent TMOS guests. I guess LFF/SFF is resting on the laurels generated by his scintillating Chuck Bell interview. Maybe Bell is big in Coralville, Iowa.

Can we nominate TMOS for some Peabodys?

I agree...I remember thinking when he first talked about it, and most definitely on the last show...

If there was a piece of cardboard with a phone number on it under your ransacked car's windshield, wouldn't it make sense to CALL THE DAMN PHONE NUMBER? Or show the cops and let THEM do it?
He keeps mentioning the piece of cardboard as if it is a major clue, and then never mentions it again.

IT HAD A DAMN PHONE NUMBER ON IT!!!!!!!! I'm no Poirot but methinks that might be a good piece of intel.

I kept on thinking that the cardboard was a key cog in the arrest...then never heard the explanation. I thought I had missed it because I listen at work.

I would pay to watch podcast hosts like Jesse Thorn, Jensen Karl, and Doug Benson listen to a Thursday episode of TMOS.

Holy shit snacks. They have no issues shilling, do they?

Do they have any concept of how they come across when they do this? I thought Oscar was into marketing.

Yeah, so they really don't have to sell very many for this book to be a hit.

The last time I checked into this, selling around 2k to 4k books would be a hit from an off-market publishing house.

TMOS doesn't have to get all that many of their fans to buy a book in order to get into that ROM.

If they sold that many, a "Real" house would take interest and the krew would be asked to do another book.

Their book might even be print on demand, which would make sell thru not a big issue.

I write college textbooks in Engineering. A smash hit of a book, like, Sears and Zemansky's University Physics would sell maybe 40k copies. A textbook that is doing well is around 20k copies. Ok is like 5k copies. That is over the lifetime of an edition.

So, don't buy the LFF fucking book.

If you watch the vids, Robb is constantly looking over to oscar for his approval.

Luckily, Oscar is rarely listening.

It is sad that he derives all his self worth from what others think of him....That is why he is a still a fat pant load...

Having heard the car thief story for the second time yesterday, I think the phone number card tie-in Mike was trying to make was that the card would be an excuse if the would be thief was caught prowling around cars in driveways. Since Mike checked the phone number and it was "some type of pet supply place" he is ignoring the obvious conclusion that his neighbors are tired of him letting his dogs shit in their yards and would like him to buy the things he needs to clean it up.

Edit here: Wow, didn't know so many people were afraid of book titles. I'll put it here until the page changes so you can still look at this thread at work.

A new page is a good idea so we all don't get greeted by the lovely post above me every time we come to see if there's anything new.

I'm no mind reader but maybe the title of the book is what's doing it. You know, having that pop up on your screen a work or in a place that's inappropriate.

Mike had a hard time with the MRI tube because of his wide shoulders.

The MRI tech is incompetent because she's not a music expert ("Duh").

Per Oscar - like trying to fit a Tostitos into a Pringles can.

I would think a book sale of 5,000 copies would barely scratch even - maybe a pizza party and a couple cases of PBR. Really, there is just no money in it.

If I managed them, the first order of business would be to force them to drop the radio ass-kissing format and try to make something original.

Just listening to the Don Geronimo show from Friday. The show featured an interview with Adam Carolla and lasted over 3 hours as Don followed his many humorous and goofy tangents with no regard to the clock. Precisely how a podcast should be done. But that's not the point I wanted to make. His 'sidekick' Drew (who I think is 28 yo), gives him the due respect as a younger man would a veteran broadcaster with much more experience and success. What he doesn't do however is constantly agree with his and perpetually kiss his ass a la Spewak. They disagree on many subjects and Drew is not afraid to call Don out on his taste in music, movies, or whatever. This is in stark contrast to the constant ass kissing agreement that Rob gives LFF. I have heard Rob change opinions mid sentence once he kinds out that LFF likes or dislikes something. I find it very refreshing.

Don knew enough to keep rob off the mic. Rob has no choice but to kiss ass, what else is he going to do?

Listening to today's show, Mike mot only gets the name of his book wrong, but once again forgets his sleep number is 75 says it's 85, corecting himself by saying it's Carla's that is 85.

He reversed the super long part of the book title calling it Open Mike: The Mike O'Meara show, from corporate etc. Not really a big deal if it was someone else talking about it, but it's his book, any normal person would get the name of their own book right.

Also, if I ever publish a book(never) I will make sure Amazon and Barnes & Noble get the title right, punctuation and all. Again, not huge, but I'd be pissed that they both replaced a comma with a colon.

The irony is that Rob, whose motto re. the TMOS audience (fans and critics alike) is NOT to give them what they want, does precisely that with the almighty LFF. Always.
