Marc responded once, after being shit on by Mike multiple times. He came here and on social media, put out his response, and that was it. Marc had shown nothing but restraint. He could burn TMOS to the ground with inside business, but he takes the high road. You are a jackass.

Has Mike ever passed on an opportunity to shit on Marcus Certa? It's time to start thinking about biting the hand Marcus...It's not like it's feeding you...You want downloads? You know what to do...

Agreed...Never thought I would defend Ronick, but in this case, Wood is correct...Marc/Relm have bent over backwards to bite their tongue, while TMOS have shown far less restraint...

He's barrel-chested and big-boned.

Truthfully, I think his inconsistent taping times and lack of communication have gone along way to chiseling away at his audience already...Even the die-hards like Ducky are grousing about it now...The chat room didn't have double digit members in it the last time I tuned in...

I don't tune in everyday, or even every week, but I have seen it as high as 300 listeners/90 chatters...typically, it's 200/30-40

We used to have 200+ daily in chat, about 30 or 40 logged in, max, Mike swore if it ever went over 200 he'd broadcast with his shirt off, then when it did he reneged. Now they pull about 10-50 live viewers, mostly due to the lack of a standard start time, "I can sit for an hour to watch a show, if it is ontime...." Now, 1030 am sometimes means 1230pm or as early as 9am. When will it start? Who knows?

in the words of Alex Trebek "Listen 24 hours a day...." http://yourlisten.com/jboogie/alex-trebek-drunk--24-hours-a-day

I'm conflicted on the boat thing

I'm not sure why he is hauling it up the eastern seaboard. Driving a trailer for 2000 or so miles must really suck. Doing anything (like getting gas) is a pain in the ass.

IIRC, it is a 23' boat and that isn't a great size. I doubt it is very nice or has a head. But the LFF loves his toys and he usually goes high end.

So, if his boat is really nice, I understand hauling it there, but it is kind of hard to get a really nice boat that is 23'

Also, 6 people on a boat like that can be a bummer after awhile

I think you would be able to rent a boat for considerably less than the cost of trailering it

How is that cost effective? Let's not forget that hauling a trailer, not to mention a boat, is hell on gas mileage. I can't begin to imagine what that gas bill looks like. What's gas at, $3.60+ on the east coast?

Also, I reread my post. Of course a fat squirrel would find a nut. He would find a lot of them. My analogy fails. I am a retard.

Mike says the following things like there's some sort of drinking game he's trying to encourage:

- I spent some quality time with my son. Gave my wife a break. It was a blessing and terrific.
- This morning, during show prep...

He wedged both into the Rob Spewack door dilemma today. Not every time, but he often sounds like it's just something he needs to say. Apropos of nothing.

I think he felt it was really important to put in the 7 am show prep comment because of yesterday's news read. He also has lost whatever comedic taste he ever had, evidenced by his approach at the door dilemma, instead of trying to make jokes as to why a boy can't open a door, he just kept repeating that he broke it, as if saying it enough times would make it funny. I guess that's the Rob rubbing of on him.
I also think Certa showed him this week he can basically say anything he wants to about him, and he'll take it so why not take digs at the whipping boy?

Glad to hear there are no consequences, because we'll get back to BBC soon enough, FEDERAL COURTS willing and the creek don't rise. Some of the following will actually be positive.

I enjoyed the Gerry Goffen montage. God forbid you actually learn something and broaden your musical horizons, you heathens!

The pictures from TV also look like hostage situations.

No pictures of the book signing crowd, not even from the back so no one could be identified. That says small crowd.

I color my hair and I know I'm not fooling anyone. It makes me feel better. Live with it.

Jesus fucking Christ, does Fat Rob not look like Zippy the Pinhead? His face/head definitely doesn't go with his voice. Keep that freak away from my kids (notional).

Oscarr, plumping up. Definitely not keeping it tight. But Shannon appears to be. Who among us hasn't cranked to her pictures?

Wow, last post on page 418, on of the Junkies or one of their fans doesn't know how to spell "jone", probably due to lack of exposure to Negroes.

I forget if I already posted my thought that "News You May Not Need" is stolen from Morning Joe's "News You Can't Use" but it was probably a 3 deep steal. In any case the segment sucks and should be dumped.

Sharin' Sharon Spewak, back in the day, totally doable. The baby, like in the classic Dragnet episode, would be in the bathtub.

When Carla goes running in Maine, it takes a village of idiots to raise baby Mikey.

OK, granted, hacky, oft-used joke, but at least it's topical.

Back to the boat things, sorry I don't understand

Sure some rando at a gas station might say, "Nice boat", but 23' isn't really the length that awesome boats come in (sure, sure a 23' boat can be cool) but if it was 48' or so it'd be awesome by definition

I don't hauling your shitty (likely) boat 2000 miles is a huge pain and dropping it in the water in Maine where your shifty boat will get judged

It just doesn't make sense

To the pizza thing...

If anybody has an address, and knows a time it'd be bad for them to get pizza (like an hour before dinner is ready and the LFF has spent a couple of hours at the grill), I'll happily send a bunch of pizzas.

What is the shittiest set of toppings you'd eat?

Pineapple, mushroom, hamburger ?

Olives, no cheese, broccoli?

I want to read here that FDB got mad that some fan sent pizza and ruined his BBQ and the LFF over ate the pizza and in the future send better pizza

I don't have an address, but the best time ever for them to have a pizza delivered would be during the recording of the show. Especially if ordered online and the "Special Delivery Instructions" box included the words "Ignore the 'Do Not Disturb, Podcast/Radio Show in Progress' sign on the door".

There is NO WAY that LFF would not comment on it, if he was distracted by someone banging on the door or constantly ringing the doorbell, delivering a pizza that no one in the house ordered.

Can anyone make it happen? You would be the King of FFXU for at least a few seconds...

I tried listening to the podcast in my car with wife and son. We were in heavy traffic and nothing really to listen to. I was playing the opening 'bit' with Dick Queasy. Wife said, "Wow, please turn that down." I explained that it was my 'homework' assignment to listen to these guys in order to make fun of them. She said: "That is some low lying fruit."

I tried to listen a little more and got to the 'bit' about Rob Jr. trying to get out of the bedroom. My son finally piped up from the back seat: "Man, this is brutal." They made me shut it off.

I don't know how much longer I can take it. Want to talk about watches?

Oh, I have a theory about the boat. I don't think it is going back to Florida. I think he brought it up there to sell or something. NO WAY would you haul that damn thing both ways for one week of water sports. THAT'S INSANE.

What I really want to know is if Mike is drinking RIGHT NOW. Wish we knew.

Great conversation on MandL today. Somebody posted on their FB page that their pay per listen show topics are boring. I like those guys, but their topics are super boring. The main poster specifically pointed at their reliance on lists on paid shows. They then launched into a defense of lists on those shows. Unconvincing.

Imagine this scenario:

Mike has some extra cash from selling the house. He impulsively decides he wants to buy a boat. Carla says no. Mike tries to justify it by saying he can bring it to use in Maine. Carla reluctantly agrees and/or gives up. Mike realizes it makes no sense to tow a boat from Florida to Maine. But now he is stuck with doing it, because it was part of his justification for the purchase.

We'll never know if it's true, but it's certainly possible.

Also, the phrase is "low hanging fruit", champ.

It's simple, Mike trailered the boat to show his family he's still kinda a big deal...of course most of us, at least myself, would rent a kick ass boat for a few days for a fraction of the cost and leave it at that...but we're talking Mike...always trying harder...see what I did there?

Just to clarify: Robb and Oscar are going back to DC/Va next week, the O'Mearas are staying through July, maybe even August. Still think it's crazy they dragged that boat up there with them.

And the bit with Rob the intern lighting the firecrackers yesterday, while Mike berated him the whole time? Not funny. Mike seems to think it's entertaining for us to listen to him browbeat the people on his show.

See that's the thing. I don't understand why the boat went from Florida to Maine from a financial standpoint. That must have cost an inordinate amount of money!

Maybe the shows doin better than we think? But if so, why the massive amounts of shilling and 'try harder' pleas?

Even though LFF lost money on the Manassas shit hut, odds are he came out with some equity ($50k, maybe?). Since he already owns the place in Florida, sounds like he has decided this equity is "found money" and is splurging. Of course, being a responsible father myself, I would probably use it to help my daughters pay for school, but that's just fucking crazy when you can waste it hauling a dingy 2,000 miles to try to impress your already unimpressed family.

It's bizarre. I drove a 22 foot truck on a 12 hour trip once. It took 16 hours, if I recall correctly, because my max speed was ~63 mph. I got ~22 mpg. Gas was $4.00 even that summer. It was stressful. I only had an fm radio in the truck. Disaster.

I later had to drive a ten foot truck with my sedan trailered when I moved back to the original city. Also rough. That time I had to drive the truck through mountain roads. Terrifying.

Both times were comically expensive.

Boatgate does not compute! Why would an untrained driver purposely put himself through this?

Who else, but TMOS?

I hear that in response to listener complaints, the FCC is considering a proposed reg that would require MORE network podcasts to use the term, "Least Worst Of" for its compilation shows. KCJJ broadcasts of same would be exempt.
