Sheesh...I forgot about Mike's overt begging for gifts (for the baby, after his move, house painting, and more ) and logistical maneuvers to enable it. He was very grating when he demanded donations (demanded! The birth of Try Harder.), but at least that was for the show. I could feel that Oscar wasn't quite comfortable with the on-air gift requests.

From all the transparency, what I figured out is the house they were in this week is owned by the entire family and gets rented out as a vacation home. His cousin and sister both own homes nearby, so he is probably going to stay in one of theirs for the remainder of his vacation. Since he never tells the whole story, I can't be sure, but this also covers the rental comment made on the Junkies. Happy 4th everyone.

I vaguely remember LFF saying that the Maine house is owned jointly by about seven cousins who can't seem to agree about keeping or selling it. Also it being a hassle to coordinate the scheduling of vacations for everyone in the family who wants to use it.

While all you lazy freeloading shits sit around today eating hotdogs, watching fireworks, bitching about America, please try to pause and take a minute to remember all of our first responders, soldiers, police officers, Harley owners, and Mike O'Meara, a true patriot and former syndicated radio DJ, without whom you'd all be speaking Japanese!

He has many military coins, and did a police ride along in suburban Virgina once. He even bought special shoes for it and was inspired to think about buying a used Ford Crown Victoria.

So get off your asses and be like Mike and do something for this great country of ours!

He is all talk and really doesn't much care for the country. He complains about every thing in it. Maybe he should have been born in France. There he could have been a beloved, fat, and drunk slob with many young mistresses. He is the poster boy of this nation's decline. Any WWII vet alive is worth a million LFFs. Grrrrr. Viva VH!

Jesus, Mike's such a flippin' complainer. Considering he talks about any place he lives in or visits as either "The Land of Suck," "The Land of Me Me Me" or "The Land of Entitlement," it shouldn't be any surprise he's absorbed so much of the culture of each.

Fuckwaddle's a "heritage DJ" according to Fat Rob, who has turned on the truckers he used to champion because his own bad decisions brought him into regular contact with them, and thinks you should take it up the ass from cops. You too, Oscar. You spic. Fuck you and your "search my car" idea, you spic.

Interesting that the spic (I'll be calling him that from now on, join me, won't you?) when they talked about the boat wrangler said "better than me!" like he is somehow the gold standard of fitness as he puts on the pounds.

All the racist garbsge posted here kinda ruins the thread and gives the anti-FFXU all the ammo they need to prove their agenda that we are just a bunch of "vitriolic haters," which I like to think we are not. I like to think we are listeners and former listeners of the show, with legitimate reasons to be pissed at the ways in which Mike has destroyed the brand and fed up with how badly Rob sucks. All the BBC and racist talk does is take away from the legitimacy of our criticisms of TMOS.

Anyway, just figured I'd make it clear that those posts don't speak for me so don't lump me in with that trash when you talk shit on FFXU.

I've been wondering about the incursions to this thread for awhile

How many do you think are randos, klubbers, or affiliated with TMOS?

There were times when there'd be some strange posts here and the thread would get mentioned on the next show.

There were times when I was trolling a drunk LFF on his FB page (so I knew he was awake) and there'd be strange posts here

Options: ReplyQuote
Re: The Mike O'Meara Show

I'm pretty sure Rob trolls here. He used to troll RGF big time.

Mike is too stupid/scared to post here when sober. In his mind everyone would "see his computer" and know he was posting. Fast forward 27 Miller Lites and that's when you get Mike making those late night strange posts. That's why he is so compelled to speak openly of this place now that he's on the wagon; no more drunken late night posting escapades, so his desire to acknowledge this thread is addressed IRL (as it should've always been).

Oscar reads the fuck out of this thread and the BOAD one. He's full of shit pretending like he wouldn't. No human alive could resist 100% of the time reading "2,000,000 posts" about his- or herself online. He might fight the urge well, but he gives in occasionally and reads.

We already know Ronnick reads. I'm sure Buzz came here a few times but just kind of forgot to check back.

I'd be really interested to know the wives' take on this place. You know they read it. I can't imagine the husbands not going on and on about it enough for C and C and S and K and... not to come in here and be like "Holy shit! Yes! This is what the fuck I'm talkin' 'bout!" Wives are repeat customers, but like any supportive (read: battered) spouses, they would never dare post! 100% chance Mike discusses this place ("How dare they!") all the time with Carla. And she cheerleads him along his ranting tirade against the vitriolic hate. But deep inside she knows what's up.

Yeah, there were times when LFF would respond to my troll on FB and post something similar here, but he was clearly drunk

I assume some of the shit like "LFF makes $ off each post" was the LPS

But, like the person that posted about us wasting time a few posts ago. What do you think rando or klubber?

I often wonder if other FFXU people spill over to here. I believe this is the most popular thread

Options: ReplyQuote
Re: The Mike O'Meara Show

To the wives 0 chance they haven't read this

LFF / LPS prob said there is a really long thread about me on FFXU and there is no way they wouldn't google that

Like you said, they are prob supportive and even more so since I believe TMOS does much better than we think it does

I've been thinking about this more and there clearly is a market for the type of show TMOS is. It isn't on the radio anymore, so people that want that have to turn to podcast and the 12k or so prob feel that radio left them behind and hence click thru AMZ and are bonus show buyers.

If I clicked thru AMZ, TMOS would make a couple k off me.

I think if you follow the principle of a thousand true fans is better than a 100 thousand shitty fans. That Gladwell thinking is exactaly the kind of thing Oscar buys into. And since he did the business plan..

Until a couple dozen pages ago, most randos here were probably FFXU randos sick of seeing the thread. Since LFF has brought it up, it's probably a mix of randos and Chub Klubberz.

I've said this before, but just a reminder on the 'scoot' issue: Harley Riders - and especially seasoned ones, as in actual experienced riders and biker type dudes, DO refer to their motorcycles as 'scoots' or 'scooters.' What always bothered me about Mike's use of the word is that he is POSING as a rider. This is the problem with it - not that it sounds childish. He is a weekend rider if that who wants to appear a Harley dude. Thus all the vests and leather and pins and bullshit.

Just when you thought Mike couldn't be more obnoxious, he now feels able to sit in judgment of "drunks" because he is "sober." I've got news for Mike. Nothing about his behavior indicates he is sober. He is merely a drunk who isn't drinking (for now). He hasn't gone through any of the self-searching or regret that goes with coming clean. Spencer Tracy was a notorious alcoholic who could go months without a drink.

I think it is sad Mike has not received the recognition he deserves. Here are some long overdue honors and the reasons he should receive them:

Congressional Medal of Honor - Who else can understand the courage involved in smothering a grenade with your own body in order to protect your fellow soldiers than a former DJ? DJs and Marines are cut from the same cloth. How dare Congress not recognize Mike for his service to the country!

Pulitzer Prize - Few journalists have the guts to be so detail-oriented that they would read link instructions from an online news story. Fuck Edward R. Murrow! He's nothing compared to Mr. O'Meara.

Nobel Peace Prize - Mike ceased potential hostilities with Carla by agreeing to watch his son for an hour while his wife went for a run. An hour! For a run! Given the guy who left his son in the car all day, Mike deserves TWO Peace Prizes!

Yes. I called him a dry drunk several pages ago. And the problem with "scoot" as I mentioned repeatedly back when their webpage took comments is it sounds totally gay.

Actually, the name is "Medal of Honor" and Congress has nothing to do with the decision-making process. In a more enlightened society DJs would be considered official members of the military and therefore be eligible for it.

And now for a little sumthin' sumthin': Cary, if you need anal more than once a year, hit me up. Holla!

I'm not a Goo Goo Dolls fan but that's not the point. To see Rob Spewak, a self-proclaimed pop music genius, call the Goo Goo Dolls a one hit wonder band makes my fucking head explode. I hate the band and I can name like 10 hits off the top of my head.

A quick google search reveals they have 10 studio albums and 28 singles with 28 videos. Yet Rob thinks/says they are a one hit wonder. I wonder which of the 28 singles Rob considers to be the lone hit?

I fucking hate him.

Goo Goo Dolls Break Own Record for Most Top 10 Singles on Billboard/BDS Adult Top 40 Chart

"Home" -- Debut Single From New Album Something For The Rest Of Us -- Is Rock Band's 14th Top 10 Hit
BURBANK, CA--(Marketwire - October 5, 2010) - Best-selling rock band GOO GOO DOLLS have bested their own record for the most Top 10 singles in the history of Billboard's Nielsen BDS-based Adult Top 40 chart, which launched in March 1996. The band, singer-guitarist Johnny Rzeznik, bassist Robby Takac, and drummer Mike Malinin, has notched its 14th Top 10 hit with "Home," the debut single from GOO GOO DOLLS' new album Something For The Rest Of Us.
Rzeznik, a recipient of the Songwriters Hall of Fame Hal David Starlight Award, has penned a series of chart-topping Hot AC hits beginning in 1995 with the No. 1's "Name," "Iris," and "Slide," followed by "Black Balloon," "Broadway," "Here is Gone," "Big Machine," "Sympathy," "Better Days," "Stay With You," and "Let Love In."

Rob is very "plugged in" when it comes to radio. After all, he's everyone's favorite D double E Jay!

Rob also thinks the Beatles recorded Imagine. For a guy who claims to love music, he seems to have a very pedestrian understanding of it. For a guy who has dedicated a room to Elvis, I bet if you started pressing him on the details of Elvis's discography, he would be totally clueless.

That was Oscar who thought that the Cirque du Soleil Beatles show should have played Imagine, Rob and LFF corrected him immediately. There are plenty of reasons to not like Rob, without spreading false info.

Well the Goo Goo's broke through in 95...Robb doesn't know anything about music after 1975 or so...
as for radio Robb probably thinks NexGen is a diet product...

Also as far as Mike's sobriety goes, people are correct that Mike's refusal to "seek professional help" of even join a 12'er will invariably lead to a relapse. Because nobody kicks the first time. That's why you join a support group. SO some one will dust you off and tell you CAN do it. Mike thinks he's not a drunk, (like others at a bar), which is fine, as long as he knows he's an alcoholic. I don't know why I even care except, I've been clean from narcotics for many years, with some backslides, and I find his attitude disrespectful to people who've worked hard to get right. It isn't as easy as just say no, Mike, but you'll see...

About the only thing I have in common with Rob is my age, he's a year younger than me. I'll admit that makes me have a soft spot for his dated references, because as a kid I was a fat shut in whose best friend was the TV too. That doesn't excuse his racist schtick, but Oskar's misogyny and LFF's assiness and hypocrisy bug me more. I've hardly been complimentary to any of the krewe, but I don't like anyone getting shit for something they didn't actually say or do.

Anyone familiar with what Amazon royalties are from the sales via Kindle, paper, etc.? Oscar's made general references that one form is better for them. We don't know what their deal with Kelley is, but TMOS cannot be making anything of consequence on this, even considering it's found money in a sense. Was it even worth their minimal time being interviewed, hawking it on failcast, 2 meet and greets, etc.? One could argue it damaged their "brand."

Selling t-shirts would have brought in more. XXL and up.

Did anyone expect this piece of shit to be a best seller? The high water mark for the Failcast was when it launched in late 2009. Since then, Mike and his true "fans" have done their best to alienate as many people as possible.

Do you know how to make a small fortune? Take a large fortune and open a restaurant. The same business acumen Mike used to drive his restaurant into the ground is being applied on the Failcast and all related properties.

After paying printing and the author, etc., I figure $5 per book sold. That's $530 made on Open Mick. Trailering a 23 ft. boat approx. 1500 miles at 9 miles per gallon at $4.15 gal.....$691 ONE WAY.

In other words, the book sales did not cover the boat haul to Maine. Someone has to TRY HARDER.

They said Amazon takes like $2.50 for every book, so the split $6.50 for every book...I don't know what Mike Kelley's take was, but Mike has already lamented not limiting it to a dollar a book...If the split the $695.55 evenly 4 ways, they pocketed $173 a piece...Clearly that was worth a year of Mike Kelley's time...Or a nice meal at a good restaurant...

The Mike O'Meara Show Robb's Weight

I don't have a timetable in front of me. I tried to look this info up, but couldn't find it.

There has been times when Robb's weight was very high and then in went down after the Weight Not diet. I remember seeing pictures and videos of Robb on Ustream and he was very big. I remember seeing a radio show he did on KCJJ, and he was so f-ing big.

Question: 1 What was Robb's highest weight before the Weight Not diet?

Question 2: After or during the diet, what was his lowest weight?

Question 3: What do you think his weight is currently?

If anyone has a timetable or a resume of Robb, please post this info. I am about the same age as Robb, and I hope to god I never get that big.

Do we in fact know when Mike bought the boat? I assume in keeping with his history of uncontrollable self gratification and bad judgement that he purchased it as soon as he sold his house in VA, but I was not sure. All I know is that it will not be long before Mike will be complaining about the cost of fixing it then he will be complaining about having to sell it after that.

I did a little reading and the 107 is for the paperback(RH column), the e-book wasn't ever tracked until today. Oh, and you can buy used paperbacks from Amazon which means they have already have at least one return. So even if they sold as many e-books as paperbacks, that just brings them in a little over 200. This is the reason they didn't supply any books for their meet and greets, looking at sales already, they knew they would be stuck with whatever copies they brought.
Unfortunately for Mike it's just another way he's being told the book was not about anything anyone wanted to read. He could have actually sold copies of a book that was about his view of the D&M years, then just threw this in as the last chapter.

He's already complained about Mike Kelley getting too big a cut, already complained about the boat costing him more money. I think a couple weeks ago, he said the only reason they could afford the boat and vacations this year was from the house sale, so it was his gift to himself for being a great investor I guess.
