I'm already imagining possible defenses. It wasn't free to set up his studio and produce the show from scratch. Also, just because Don made and announced this decision it doesn't necessarily mean that RELM intended or intends to engorge themselves on the remaining funds. It sounds like an offer was made and rejected, but further action is required.

Two for two this week on the Beatles count.

Thought we would make it through a show, but the last break today, before the AV, Headd subjected us to the heavy rotation "Helen Wheels".

Addendum to this pet peeve: The fucking Beatles had a huge output, then as solo artists they've pumped out tons more. Headd's laziness, even with digital material, doesn't allow for any depth, even though he's such a big fucking fan.

Asshole.

I think Don is going to honor the already paid subscriptions, even though RELM kept the money. So you're not paying twice, you're just putting money in weasel-like Ronnick's pocket. This ought to be interesting to watch. I wonder where Buzzito comes down on the issue. I assume he'll take the high road, and Don might let him off the hook and focus on the R&M in RELM.

Nope...Don is grilling Buzz on Twitter over the "small" amount of money and Buzz is going to be on the next Kirk McEwen show to tell the RELM side of the story.

Looks like Buzz is the designated mouthpiece for RELM, and conveniently, Kirk McEwen will give him an outlet. Show is supposed to drop today. Not a usual listener, so I have no idea what time.

And yes, Don is not letting Buzz's tweets go unanswered.

Oh, man. If there's one thing you can fairly say about LFF's relationship with alcohol, it's that he SUCKS at moderation. He's the kind of guy who has one, and the next thing you know, it's ten drinks, and he's completely out of control. How many occasions/events in his life have been adversely affected by his drinking?

There's a term for someone who has a drinking problem who goes back to drinking, even if they plan to "moderate" it. It's called a relapse.

Oscar is better on the Tony Perkins Show than he is on TMOS. I'm very surprised that T Perk's show is so likable. They keep the ball rolling...good stuff. He also has some strong podcasting potential, just off of being a TV personality.

Mike simply mentioned that he modified his alcohol intake. I perked up too, but I'm not sure if that was a sign of everything. In any event, we'll know soon because he always slowly rolls out these things. If we don't hear anything about this over the next few weeks, it was just a poor choice or analysis of words.

Agreed on Oscar, and while not groundbreaking or anything, it's a pretty quick hour, and it's enjoyable enough. There's motion to the show - they have a few topics, but don't sound like they are just checking them off a list, or biding time until a shitty news or AV segment.

When will they start announcing birthdays?

Wait? Not? nailed it - T Perk's show has motion to it. It's fast paced in a way you don't normally hear on podcasts. Gary Stein's energetic/frenetic personality keeps it moving.

Basically, it's the opposite of Marc and Lowell.

I'm actually downloading McEwen's podcast to find out RELM's side of things, or at least what's being said publicly.

I think it's fucked up that I signed up for a year of Doni's show, that RELM keeps the money, and that I'm currently not getting a thing out of the money I spent apart from the occasional MandL "Not Por Pree" show.

I love listening to Don's show - would honestly pay for a separate year based on the business bullshit - but RELM (since that's where my money went) should be bending over to give me my money's worth or a refund.

One could nitpick it, but Mike's statement was pretty good. Short, and without his typical "I'm pissed but kicking it quiet" voice. I have some small nits, but it ain't worth typing out. Maybe his best statement, probably because he really doesn't have a dog in the fight.

Kirk McEwan has finally dropped. Buzz starts talking about Don (and Mike) at about 24:00. He says -- big surprise -- nothing groundbreaking.

* It was a disagreement about business. It was a mutual decision. Buzz still considers Don "a friend."
* The paid model is not a business model which we think works, and didn't feel it was working.
* We're still friends.
* At 26:00, Kirk says that it seems like Don and Mike "put their asses in your face." Buzz says, no, it's not like that.
* Mike has been great since the breakup, and with Don, "it was a mutual decision."
* Listeners are more emotional about this than Buzz, Don, etc. "They don't like hearing Mom and Dad fight."

Big deal. Don's version will almost certainly be more entertaining.

I do miss Buzz on Don's show. Perhaps it reminded me of the old D&M days.

Peekza's right.

Don will come out with two barrels blazing, but I'm sure there will be some questionable parts to the story. Looking forward to hearing his take, and assessing the fullness of it. Then RELM will pussy foot around and people like me (who generally likes those dudes) won't be how to allocate the blame.

Marc, Buzz, Lowell - I don't need or want you to be mean, nasty, or vindictive. I do want a fullish, honest statement about what happened, with real defenses and no half truths. Half truths make you seem dishonest and weak, even when they are meant to be positive about an opponent.

Let's call it minimal...A side note, is this the first time ignorance of the situation has kept Mike from speaking on the matter?

And based on his comments about Iraq and Robin Williams, it's not a habit that he is planning on sticking with.

Mr. Hopkins has, on my advice, tucked his tail between his legs and left this website. He came into my office sobbing about all the meanies on this site, one person even found his personal twitter account! We were discussing suing every single poster on this website for defamation, or libel, or whatever but then we saw a squirrel run by the window and bury a nut. We laughed and laughed and then forgot what we were discussing in the first place. Such is the life of the idiot.

Oscar was right about the Neil Simon story. The thing to do is just send over a bottle of wine as a thank you for all the great playwriting. But Blobb has to go over and tell him all about how his high school put on a production of one of Neil Simon's plays, and which part Robb did. That must've been when Neil Simon called security and had Robb thrown out of the restaurant.

Yep. Not a usual thing (someone likely had something that conflicted with their schedule -- LFF Dr. appt would be my guess). LFF was a tad upset Robin Williams killed himself at a time inconvenient for TMOS -- something along the lines of "every time we record a show, some event screws it up like this -- why me?"

I just listened to the Kirk McEwen show. It was a decent statement, if Buzz was a congressional campaign spokesman.

RELM needs to understand that in this intimate, personality driven environment, this kind of fluff isn't acceptable. Buzz claimed that "Mike has been great!"...given all the upsetting things we heard Mike say RELM has to respect our intelligence. Don't need muck racking, but it's okay to say that you sometimes felt disrespected or that there were some rough patches.

RELM is ultimately doomed. They don't have the personalities or talent to succeed. They had a shot with Don but screwed that up.

His level of comprehension and ability to communicate about world/political subjects is barely at a middle school level.

You mean you don't like all his "I don't understand why these Iraqi countrymen can't just get along!" And he "watches CNN" on a regular basis because he's so worried about the middle east. "Sorry Carla, I can't change the kid's diaper, I'm watching tv and calling it show prep."

I found it pretty telling that Buzz had the same jive-ass "I still consider him a friend" line about Don that he had for Mike...He's too chickenshit to say anything, but if he feel s the same way about Don as he does Mike, well, even a klubber could read that...

I've been away for a few days so I'm going to try to get to everything covered in the last little bit.

1. Jhops, if you remember we had this whole discussion prior to your O'Mearacast appearance. At that time I offered to get you whichever clips you would need to be able to address what was actually said on the show, instead of speculating and getting quotes wrong. I also offered an outro which included Mike and Rob's statements on their much hated Fox News where they described their own hatred, and potentially libelous remarks, as free advertising for the network. Either way, you just decided to quit on it, no reason to make up fake law excuses for it.

2. Don and RELM splitting up really only gives us listeners more of what we really want from these podcast, controversy and over-the-top reactions to the controversy. These were the moments I remember the most from D&M and Don has stuck to it better than any of the rest of the formerly associated members. The games were always stupid and pointless, it was the reaction that made everyone laugh. When Don joined up with RELM, I do remember MandL stating they were making nothing from his podcast, it wont be to hard to find since they only put out one or two shows a week, if Marc is reading here as he does occasionally, a clarification would be nice. I also remember the reason for Joe leaving was because of payment issues with RELM, Don was not responsible for paying him, maybe not Drew either, so maybe the network was keeping the money they were supposed to pay out to other show members? Either way, I'm thinking Don may be right on this one since the accusations would be easy to refute with a few simple screencaps of texts, e-mails, etc. and why not put it out there if you are RELM? Non-disclosure was refused and you could be the company that brought the great corporate hater down. What better could you ask for as a podcast network always looking for publicity?

3. I haven't listened to TMOS this week, but at least twice before they have recorded shows and tried to pass them off as live, once, the first(?) show from the new studio, Rob yelling out the window at people on the sidewalk and the time, around 3 or 4 in the afternoon, was stated, but the show was posted at their regular time the next day with no comment about it being recorded previously. There was also another inconvienient celebrity death, Rob's AV dedication was a day late on that one too, which made it obvious, but again no comments were made about the recording. I haven't heard this one, but did it include DUH! news instead of NYMNN? that's been a giveaway before.

4. Whoever has decided to post under other's names needs to also adapt their posting style to whoever they are trying to imitate, it's a little too obvious. I'm sure Lady B already knows the answer to your latest question and since you don't you should probably check the FAQ, it keeps the useless questions to a minimum.

Does anyone want to talk RELM for a quick minute? I was surprised to find Kirk's show enjoyable, post-Buzz appearance. He had Stash from Baltimore radio, who just got out from a longish jail stint. I listened to Kirk and Mike and heard Kirk's sports show in Tampa and never had any real affection or dislike for him. I think I'm going to dl a few more eps to check.

Meanwhile, MandL continues to do a show about absolutely nothing. It's comical that the regularly feature wives, girlfriends, sisters, grandma's, and babies on this damn show. At least their friends are genuinely interesting or funny when they check in. I just don't understand the lack of....anything. They don't bring much to the table. Of course, I like those guys and think they are good in different settings.
