Dukes was saying something like he can't wait for CBS to cancel his show and he has a hard time working everything in to such a short time period. I just happened to tune into Chad Dukes vs the world or whatever that show is named.

Back at the start of BOAD podcast, Chad told a story about having to beg to be allowed to do the podcast and he mentioned something about having learned his lesion from that.
When they moved the studio to Lanham, Dukes talked about getting canceled often

This afternoon sorry I never listened before was looking for stations on radio app. I tuned out after the disorganized opening. I liked the cbs talk though =]

No fucking way CBS is paying Dukes 6 figures and giving him latitude to do a show on Sirius. A. The BOAD Sirius deal is bullshit. B. Chad is doing it, but will be soon departing CBS. C. Chad didn't read his CBS deal and signed an agreement that violates it.

After my fight with the TMOS FB fan page, some of the klubbers called my consulting company to complain about me.
I guess they didn't realize that Engineering meant that I owned the company.

On my FB page, I had (have?) just the Engineering LLC consulting company on my profile (or whatever FB calls it) and if you google it, you'll get the phone number.
If you call that phone number, I'll answer.
At the end, before I got kicked out, I flamed out and called them names and LFF names (I don't remember what). Some of the klubbers sent some pretty nasty messages to me via FB. It was fun. I hope some of them stroked out.
So, some of them called my company and complained about how I acted on-line and that I was a bad representative for their company and such things shouldn't be said on facebook.
I'd respond with, "Hi, this is I own the company and go fuck yourself cunt". Then block their number.

On to TMOS topics...
When does the LFF address:
1) Don v RELM?
2) BOAD being on sat-radio
At this point, he must know that he doesn't have a shot in radio and he can't do a sub model like Don. So, that has to be eating at him.
Plus, he isn't drinking and I'm sure that makes him a delight
The cherry on top has to be Chad getting the afternoon drive (solo) and a shot on sat-radio. IMO, the LFF always seemed dismissive of Chad. I remember him showing up on BOAD make in the WJFK days and saying something like, "I'm here to get the ratings up boys, see you next quarter".
TMOS seems to want to live in this shiny happy world, but they could easily do something on the Chad thing via Oscar.

The Satellite radio thing was briefly explored today. LFF mentioned, again, that he was extremely jealous of Chad. He basically played down the Sirius angle, saying he probably wouldn't do it anyway, becuase of logistics, since he had "worked hard" to get where he was today. He seemed to imply that it was even in the realm of possibility that Sirius would consider, for a moment, that a show centered around an elderly, borderline invalid, morbidly obese sack of irrelevant garbage, living in a Florida retirement community would have any run with the listener demographic of the former Opie and Anthony channel. The less successful and less talented half (being generous. If you think LFF contributed half to D&M show prep, I have a bridge to sell you) of a radio show that got their asses handed to them across the east coast by O&A. Oscar is way too nice. He could have at least thrown in a "I'm not sure it would be a good fit" instead of sucking LFF's ass and agreeing that "Of course TMOS could have the same shot!"

I've been thinking more and more about this...I'm the LFF and I listen to / somebody tells me about the "Special Report" from RELM. Clearly, I know about Don making a deal with them and then leaving.
Let's look at the TMOS players
Oscar: He has his pod studio and wants to build the DC pod empire. So, I doubt he has a dog in the fight. Although he seems to make the most Ronic sucks at business comments.
LPS: Don is / was the godfather for his kids. He has to be #teamDon
LFF: He has been more of a failure after D&M. Don got more jobs but let / fired. LFF got fewer but has a more successful podcast. LFF can't like Buzz or Ronic now.
I guess the best position that the LFF could present is "I told you so". Ronic is a liar and thief. We / Don invented Buzz and he is fighting to keep your money on twitter.
LFF: "Hey, I told you to not go into business with those guys."

JHop, all things considered, Don/RELM probably ended about as well as it could for Mike
1) Mike's biggest problem with Buzz was that he got a ration of shit anytime he took a run at him because KOB was such a "nice guy"...This episode has clearly exposed what a slimy "Eddy Haskell" type Buzz turned out to be...Advantage-LFF
2) The outright theft of Don's $ makes Marc look like a crook and there is a kind of underlying "wonder if he really was stealing from TMOS"...Not to mention it validated several TMOS complaints, such as, poor customer relations, failure to ship merch in a timely fashion, failure to responsibly handle the $ from merch sales.
3) By comparison, Mike looks better in Don's eyes after having dealt with the Carnies of RELM.
Sure, it had to sting when RELM made the big announcement...Had to really burn Mike up when he starting reading about their "projected earnings"...But in the end, the Golden Boy didn't have to do shit and ended up making out like a bandit...
1) Mike's biggest problem with Buzz was that he got a ration of shit anytime he took a run at him because KOB was such a "nice guy"...This episode has clearly exposed what a slimy "Eddy Haskell" type Buzz turned out to be...Advantage-LFF
2) The outright theft of Don's $ makes Marc look like a crook and there is a kind of underlying "wonder if he really was stealing from TMOS"...Not to mention it validated several TMOS complaints, such as, poor customer relations, failure to ship merch in a timely fashion, failure to responsibly handle the $ from merch sales.
3) By comparison, Mike looks better in Don's eyes after having dealt with the Carnies of RELM.
Sure, it had to sting when RELM made the big announcement...Had to really burn Mike up when he starting reading about their "projected earnings"...But in the end, the Golden Boy didn't have to do shit and ended up making out like a bandit...

In other interesting news, Adam Carolla settled his law suit with his old friend and partner, Donny.
In the court docs, there are numbers on what Adam's podcast was making 2009 to 2012, spoiler alert, not much. It didn't turn a profit until recently, but that was sort of due to Adam paying his staff.
Adam's self reported $ numbers were low. Like $300k in a good year. Those are just podcast numbers and not his bum wine, live shows, etc

Adam certainly had a nice career, but without the podcasting network I doubt his personal live revenue is where it is. He likely makes as much off live standup and podcasts, and certainly not all of that shows up on the balance sheet. Same with Mangria - he sold 200,000 or more bottles strictly off the podcast. No adverts that I'm aware of, and prior to getting into stores.
This is why I'm skeptical of his "donate to pay my legal bills" bit.

- Oscar works a dozen other podcasts, has desk jobs off-and-on, and lives on the hand-me-downs of his successful older brother and sister.

Sirius still isn't considered broadcast either, and since BOAD is already covered they probably aren't to worried about this one time show. Might be a different story if it was a broadcast radio station or Chad by himself.

ESPN's Bomani Jones has a separate podcast business. The terms of his agreement is that he can do his podcast, but can only talk sports on ESPN. I've heard of at least one other deal like this, somewhere. Perhaps Chad has something like this?

CBS let Carolla start up his podcast while still under contract from his radio gig after being shit-canned. CBS also underwrote or donated bandwidth to Carolla in the early days. I don't think the deal lasted very long.

Not that many are making subscription work. What most are doign is offering free content and the premium content to augment/boost revenue. By far the biggest/highest traffic podcasts are free (ACE, Maron, Rogan, etc.)

BOAD is only doing one show @ Sirius NYC studios - this Saturday night from 8-10pm. They are not being paid for the shift and are paying their own way up & back from DC / VA including taking the Acela up there. They hope it will lead to more in the future or at least more recognition.. That's what I got out of the last BOAD episode.
