That would be the Cal-Neva. Or the Sundowner before it closed. The Sands is pretty awful as well, it's why I never leave the ElDorado, Siver Legacy or I head down to Peppermill and Atlantis.

Sorry to be a one note Nancy, but goddamit you ignorant stupid motherfucking cocksucker faggot. There was a considerable gap between "gag order" wife and "Highway Love Connection" wife. At least CAL-Neva has a good sports book. THe Sands is pretty shitty too.But of the large Casinos, Cirus-Circus stinks, old and rundown. I always stay at the Peppermill.

That's what he does, that's why Don would keep him off mic...Could you imagine the evisceration Don would administer if he interrupted his story(made it all about him) for such an inconsequential detail?

It's so weird that when Oscar asked why they changed the Thursday mailbag - a legitimate, if devisive show feature - to Wednesday...Mike refused to answer on the air. He couldn't have just said "scheduling issues" and moved on.

Transparency. C'mon.

Kevin Smith said some interesting things on a recent Nerdest podcast:

1) When he gets people auditioning for his movies, their info is submitted with the number of social media followers they have.

I wonder in Chad played this card when getting his new show. I have X number of unique social media followers, which means I'll pull at least Y rating, because I shit on them and they come back for more.

2) Something about if you have an idea, just make it and there are likely 10k people that would want to consume it.

This is the LFF's blessing and curse. He made something and around 10k (or 14k or whatever) want it. All attempts to grow the show have met with failure, so they gave up on growing it.

It actually isn't too bad if TMOS can put as little effort into something and make some sort of living off it.

Define "living." O can already smell something better down the road. If you're not growing, people will slowly fall away . . . and it's not like the product's staying fresh.

yep, this is definitely one of the robisms that drives me insane. it's almost as bad as all the "right", "uh-huh", "yep" comments he just always has to make. but, it's not as bad as all the hyena-type laughing he does. oh, and the ass-kissing . . . bleah, that's definitely vomit-inducing.

And it always devolves into the LFF and Fat Rob JO session. Blobb brings up old Charlie trivia from 20 years ago that no one could possibly give a shit about. With any of the impressions, the content is terrible even if the mimicry wasn't subpar. There's no way LFF is doing any prep for that. I guess he's too busy cutting and pasting yahoo news stories. Or writing a sanctimonious speech that makes 9/11 all about himself, again.

Mike's lack of transparency about the move of bonus show recording and mail bag to Wednesday really bothers me.

The only reason to do this is to be able to pre-record thursday and fridays shows, and their obvious attempts to "pull one over" on the listener is really infuriating, especially coming from a show that has bragged about their transparency.

Liars.

If they had just said that, it would be fine.

The problem is that their first reaction is:

HIDE THE TRUTH

LIE AND OBFUSCATE

DECEIVE AUDIENCE

Really horrible people and their demise can't come soon enough. I'm only hanging on because I HAVE to be there for the crushing ending.

My only dread is they won't be open and honest about that, either.

Oh, they'll never admit outright failure. Ever. There will always be some kind of "Oh, this is all for the best, we're all good friends, Mike's going to announcing Little League games, Oscar's on to satellite, and Rob(b)'s going to be the new emcee at his local Chuck-E-Cheese."

Nope, South African has been the new Australian for some time. The first time I noticed it I wrote it off as LFF not paying attention to his own show again and getting the countries mixed up. He's even said how the SA accent is one of his least favorite, so I don't know how he's been so confused for so long. Well, I could make some guesses, but they've been covered here pretty thoroughly. Oskie isn't going to notice, and FR wouldn't say anything so critical. It's not like most people can't do a passably stereotypical "g'day mate, now that's a KNOIFE!" Australian accent, so it baffles me that he's falling so far off the mark.

IDK...Power Point can be cool:
http://www.davidbyrne.com/archive/art/eeei/

It is ubiquitous and if you want to talk about a picture while on stage, it is something most people understand. Having a visual element to spinning yarns is probably a good idea for TMOS.

It could be worse, they could do costumes like the dumb BOAD shows

Oscar seemed genuinely surprised/uninformed about this move. He even poked fun at the "Wednesday mail bag" so much that Mike got irritated.

Whatever the reason is, it probably isn't worth hiding. We have had a good "TMOS hides details from audience, despite it coming up and them advancing" for awhile, huh? #circuscircustickets

Boatgate was weird too. And leaving town early every trip-gate. And weird car shopping gate. TMOS is weird.

Again, they don't HAVE to tell us this crap. Just do it and keep moving. But they insist on this "transparency" bit, and aren't professional enough to actually keep the secret.

How many times has Mike accidentally and unknowingly said something that either made an earlier statement or the new statement untrue??? You have to be a quasi-dumb, passive listener to not pick up on this.

Good idea -- peek looks like Bruce Willis, and this would be VH's version of Die Hard with a Vengeance's Harlem signboard scene.

He would stay home and watch TV rather than head to one of the better venues in the DCM? Even if he didn't like Jack White, he could at least get hammered in Columbia.

Also, didn't the LPS say it and its wife have the most fun when they people watching. Merriweather has some good people watching.

If you heard that much, you're one of the lucky ones. I have been waiting since 9/2/14 for the email with my coupon code to carry over my subscription from RELM like Don promised. But it hasn't yet been sent.

Since Don's split from RELM, I've only heard the first "free" show (where he begged ppl to wait for their coupon code and not just re-sign for the show), and the 9/10/14 show that they accidentally posted for download to EVERYONE (the one with the RELM Match Game). Otherwise, I'm clueless. My pleas for my coupon code that Don G. promised have so far been ignored. I've emailed. I sent a message through the "Contact Me" link on his website. Then and ONLY THEN did I send him a message on Twitter. One tweet, and one of his P1's bitched about me asking him for an update because "I'm tired of hearing all the bitching on Twitter". Otherwise I have been ignored.

No way I'm signing up to pay for his show if this is the way he treats his paying customers. He made a promise, he hasn't delivered, so fuck him. I was a huge fan of his, I was one of those who was willing to pay for a quality podcast, but if this is the way he treats his subscribers, then fuck him. It seems he only cares about his P1's and the folks in the Sacramento area. So since his attitude is "fuck Dave from Frederick, MD", then my attitude is "Fuck Don Geronimo".

Why would Fatty McSpewak go see Jack White? He didn't make any music before 1975. He claims to be such a connoisseur of music, yet with all the great music venues in the DMV area, he never talks about going to see live music except for McCartney last year and Goo Goo Dolls this year (for which it sounded as if he was just along for the ride).

Apparently, Rob has two options when he gets dressed in the morning: 1) dress like he's going to middle school (and wear a cool, dated, pop-culture-related t-shirt) or 2) dress like he's going to the bowling alley.

While I'm willing to go in on it if someone is willing to go, I think the best bet would be to go for a clandestine recording/ interviews. The audio would be bad, but I imagine the show's material would suck enough to give us material for weeks. I think anyone handing anything FFXU-related out would be "asked" to leave pretty quick.

No admission that I've heard. He's dense but not that dense. Carla or her wine friends are listening.

At some point, after swearing off booze forever, I believe Mike said he was moderating his drinking. If that's true, he's certainly off the wagon. I think two things have changed related to that. If he is drinking, it probably is less because he isn't surrounded by enablers. Also, the biggest lesson he has probably learned is not to talk about drinking on the Failcast.

Mike has said recently on TMOS that he hasn't had a drink since Super Bowl Sunday in Feb. On yesterday's show, he said that Carla has given him what sounded like a one time or one trip pass to drink, and Mike was discussing on the show whether he would drink on the Reno trip. Of course Robb said that if he plans on drinking on the Reno trip he should drink some beforehand to get used to it, or something like that. Mike said he's "leaning" on not drinking at Reno.

What a fucking disaster that woulb be (Mike going off the wagon for Reno). Mike knows and has accepted that he's an alcoholic at this point (he said so publicly on the show) and so he probably realizes what a bad decision cashing in 9 months of sobriety is... IF he has had time to reflect and work on sobriety and is not just staying sober to appease his wife.

Mike, stay sober please. I know you know what will happen if you take even one drink and I know you know you don't want to start over on your journey.

I am not a friend of Bill. I haven't really made any earth-shattering observations about substance abuse here. It's not like knowing an alcoholic shouldn't drink requires some kind of deep meaningful relationship with addiction.

Right, I just assumed if somebody here was a friend of Bill that it would give them empathy for the LFF and specifically the LFF's drinking problem.

When the "normal" FFXU LFF drinking problem stance is "party on LFF" and please blow out your other knee or get bitch slapped for touching something.

A drunk LFF is more entertaining (for us here) than a sober LFF.

Mike's drunken binges and drunken antics fed into my perception of him as a hypocrite (amongst other things), which ultimately was my reason for pulling the plug on TMOS (Mike's hypocrisy). So the thought of him going back to that shit doesn't really add any desire to my wanting to start listening again. I know I'd just get angry and want to punch my iPod. That's all I'm saying. It's painful to sit and watch someone continually fuck up I guess. The pain got to be too much.

Sure, the LFF is a sad creature.

If it is going to subject the world to this "product" then the LFF should at least max the entertainment value to us, FFXU folks. I want TMOS to be the max TMOS it can be, which amounts to nothing, but it should be all it can be.

I want a drunk LFF getting into fights and having his wife almost throw him out weekly.

I want Oscar destroying electronics from bikini models.

I want the LPS to do nothing.

Otherwise we get:
1) LFF & LPS having nothing going on in their lives
2) Oscar being happy and not going off the rails

TMOS needs conflict. They, of course, had conflict fall into their laps but didn't do anything with it

Robb isn't good on the Perkins Show. But, he isn't awful on the show, because he exercises discipline and impulse control.

He isn't slobbering over Mike, so all that annoying behaviour is curtailed. And he isn't given a huge platform, so his worthless interests and ideas are minimized.

Still a net negative. It's hard for me to listen to bonus Robb content. And the dude was so likable ten years ago.

In extremely small doses, with his mic being cut off constantly, and back when he knew his role (glorified intern, failed producer), he wasn't terrible. Now LFF feeds Fat Rob's ego instead of keeping it beaten down like it should be and the show suffers immensely.

I recall it differently. He hated the listeners so much he would not laugh at their jokes. Hence the challenge.

And by saying he hated the listeners, it may have been true, but it was ostensibly a shtick. Now we know he hates others getting laughs, at his expense or otherwise, others outwitting him (Gavin), other's success despite his lack of regard for their talent (BDK), and others taking attention away from him.

I think Intractable is right, but it's still a hilarious reversal.

Speaking of Robb, Oscar had a quick throwaway comment when he called Mike "Mike Vila" because of his overly descriptive shower curtain assembly project* story. Robb had to correct him immediately, of course: "It's Bob Vila!" Way to get a joke, and not be an annoying corrector just waiting to pounce on Oscar.

*Seriously, Mike? This story was way too long to be about a shower curtain. We are drifting steadily back to sick and shut in type stories, and it's a drag.

Oscar also got in some nice digs about Mike running out to Home Depot or wherever for a shower mirror instead of using Amazon. Mike bitched he didn't have 2 days (!) to wait for it. Oscar came back to subject later, saying he doesn't recall Mike ever mentioning he's received an Amazon delivery, and Spewak urged baby steps.
