Hey fan club posters -- any of you care to read the TMOS FAQ that is in some of the FFXU posters' signatures and address any of the points made therein? That's a way to start a real dialogue, if that's what you want.

I was actually more annoyed with today's episode than with yesterday's. Mike never apologized, because none of what happened yesterday was his fault. As Oscar might say, a-MAY-zing. He can be extremely funny one minute, and a petulant, narcissistic, bullying baby the next.

My favourite part was when the stupid klubber asked the posters here for proof that the show numbers are failing, thinking nobody would have that. Little did they know that a poster here actually did compile that data and it absolutely shows that the downloads are dropping. Of course, the stupid klubber didn't actually acknowledge the proof. Why would you? The truth hurts. Being wrong isn't fun.
Also, the show doesn't have "advertisers". Advertisers pay you simply for reading an ad. The show has "affiliate" programs. The guys do the reads hoping the listeners will use the coupon code and they get a kickback from that. If no one uses the code, they don't get paid. Any brokedick podcast can sign up for affiliate programs. I'm actually wondering whether you're really THAT dumb and didn't realize that, or if you came in here thinking the posters are dumb and you could easily fool them. Here's a little tip, the posters here aren't the klubbers. They are pretty smart and can see through bullshit.

Listening to the Buzz fight, it's pretty much the same as the Oscar fight. Mike makes a statement, Buzz disagrees, Mike argues, Buzz brings in facts, Mike explodes.
My other takeaways from it are:
There has been zero, if not negative, audience growth. This was episode 556 with an announced download count of "over 13 million", yesterday was episode 1148 with "over 25 million", if the audience had stayed the same they should have hit 26 million by episode 1112 at the latest.
They had an actual advertiser at the time, no promo code, not a partner, affiliate, etc. An advertiser. Just another way to show how much the show has "improved".
Anyone that wants to argue that over 25 million could include 26 million, they had that discussion last week and had just hit 25 1/2 million at the time.

I just listen.
I don't expect, anticipate, or demand that the guys on the show talk about any one single topic. I just let them do their thing. They're storytellers. That's what they do. That's why I listen. All great radio talents are storytellers at heart... working in a medium (generally) without pictures, moving images etc.
It's all theatre of the mind.
That's what radio has always been.
There were times when I was first introduced to and "hated" Opie and Anthony, JV & Elvis, Ron & Fez, and even Don & Mike... I found that as I continued to give all of these shows a chance, I was letting go of my preconceived expectations of what they "should be" and what they "should be doing/saying" and I realized I was just listening to them do their thing... and as a listener I've come to love all of these shows. I loved the Mike O' Meara show on WJFK when Don retired (back then). I was sad when all FM radio stations essentially stopped airing "Comedy-based/slice-of-life/storytelling" style broadcasters.
Now is the new age of the podcast. I will make no apologies: I fucking love TMOS. I listen every single day. I trust each day that the guys will just do their thing. I just let it happen. I just enjoy it. I just listen.

Another note on this old episode...this was back when Robb was constantly sputtering and gasping to get his every other sentence verbal ejaculation in. With Buzz and Marc (and sometimes RJ) also chiming in Robb was in a full blown spasm for the whole show.
Also, their audio quality is a lot better now, even with Florida Mike. Put that in your win column, because you can't win an argument.
