It's interesting to hear Mike and Rob(b) wrestle with the idea of Jon Stewart quitting on top. There's such a thing as leaving with the crowd wanting more. TMOS can't comprehend that. Their idea is to beat the audience into submission and pry the coinage from their cold, lifeless hands. Even Elvis had the decency to die before he became Liberace.

Yeah, I thought it was interesting that someone on the inside finally confirmed that these were all actually "pay per buy" like we have been saying for years, not advertisers that pay for a schedule, the way Oscar controls Mike when Mike wants a few days off.
It almost seems as if Don listens to some of TMOS when he talked about "begging for donations". Maybe he pities Mike a little now. I know he has said before he would never badmouth Mike but that may be because of all the dirt they have on each other. His example of Adam's podcast left out the auto parts ads that have no promo code though so he was obviously talking about the way Mike does things even if he wasn't mentioning him. The RELM stuff was just a little expansion of what we all knew already, but now, even after he's had time to cool off, it sounds like he still got the short end of that deal.

Well Leykis claims he has around 400k to 100k paid listers per month and I think he is $11 / month.
I don't know how Don's show ranks vs Leykis in rating, but I think Leykis show is often the highest ranked internet talk show.
IIRC, RELM wanted to hit a certain number of subs and they did that quickly and surpassed it.
And, I'm sure all of that pisses the LFF off because Oscar sold him on a freeium model and he can't change since the klub has bought into that model.
I like Don's show and sub to it, but I don't have 3 hours a day to listen to it.

Leykis streams his show 24/7, but downloading and access to the archive requires a sub. Even though you can (or could?) stream it on Stitcher, I haven't remembered to click on it in months. My main Google playlist is king on my phone.

No sir....It's the funniest show on the network...I love listening to Oscar's "horse-assery" and Tech 411 has that in spades...and while Mike knows almost as much about Tech as Oscar, Todd Moore is great....he has no filter and if it sucks, he says it sucks...He also eviscerates Oscar at least once an episode

First 40 minutes of today's show? A phoner to a donut shop, A visit to the Dr.s office, Ferris Bueller opening and Mike reads a 50 person list.....Fuck me if that's trying AT ALL!!!! The ONLY positive was Mike DID read the list 50-1 instead of telling us 1 first like a retard.

I'm always amazed at how tmos think they're relevant. Robb speaks of things as if I would go to work the next day and say, "didja hear Robb yesterday?" to someone. As it stands, I haven't listened yet this year. This site is more fun!

If you listen back to the Donut DJ, he actually sounds almost exactly like Mike. Like Mike doing a civilian voice. I almost thought it was a Phil Hendrie type gag.
I'm relieved they didn't mock the guy(although Robb clearly wanted too) because he was very nice, respectful and runs a successful business. Mike and Robb probably can't stand him.

LFF was stumbling all over himself asking how the guy would like to be referred to; his jive DJ name, his real name, and some messed up combinations that probably don't even exist. He said "Bob's fine, it's reality" or something along those lines and Fatt Rob, a.k.a. Robbay, said "Oh is it?" like he was above the guy who built a legitimate business after being fired from radio, instead of riding the corpse of a show into the sunset while his wife works a job she hates. He was chomping at the bit to jump on the guy.

Running a successful business isn't that complicated. Offer something people want, price it right and treat people well. All three of these are beyond Mike. He does what's easiest for him, not what people want. He tries to charge people for something he already gives away for free. Finally, he treats his listeners like shit. The guy has no business running a business.
