I agree that Mike had no excuse for missing the show today after giving Robb crap for being sick this week, but I'd rather have no show, or even 79 minutes of the Best of Robb cackling than to listen to one minute of Don's disgusting fat slob of a wife. She's a complete idiot with a grating voice that makes nails on a chalkboard sound like a symphony by comparison.

The Perkins show isn't perfect (lots of over laughing there, too), but it has a comfortable rhythm and good moments. They also make very good use of the Mayor, and his contributions are real. LFF could learn something dine bothered to listen to the show his 'friend' does.

I have to disagree. Not the part about how you feel about Don's wife. I agree she's un-listenable. But it's still entertaining because Don KNOWS that she's "un-listenable" and shuts her down. Like he used to do to Rob. Don knows what what is listenable and what isn't. When Don is in control, it's listenable...

I'm not a Don white knight, his show can use some improving too, but it's similar to the back in the radio days for him. Mostly I want to hear more of the parts I like, but TMOS needs a complete makeover, not just a few changes.
Personally i'm hoping this turns into a an old fashioned radio war between former partners. If it does, who's the winner? The guy who rants with no conclusions, or the guy who gets paid just so you can hear his response?

Thanks again bubby. Interesting stuff. I am not a big fan of the subscription model because I've never paid for any show due to all the free content out there. I now think it is the way to go if you have a large loyal base of listeners because the revenue stream is more reliable as long as you at least make an effort to provide decent content.
I guess it didn't matter which model TMOS chose because Mike is too lazy to put forth the effort to provide quality content on a consistent basis anyway. Instead, TMOS has the best sounding dumpster fire in podcastdom.

Building a studio in rented space was a stupid idea. The last thing they needed was to spend more money on the Failcast. How much is this space costing them? $2k? $3k a month? And they are treating a $7k decrease in annual subscriptions like the end of the world.

Good point. Who even rents it from them and when? If it was bringing in revenue I feel like that definitely would have been mentioned at least in passing, even though they did initially say the point was to use it to help break-even. I don't listen religiously so maybe I missed something.
Either way, it's definitely not cheap. Maybe Oscar needs to pay for a business education to have it drilled into his head that it was a bad idea. Something says he probably wouldn't see it that way.

It certainly seems there may be some death throes happening for the Failcast. The combination of missing subscription targets and Mike's inability to intimidate O and R in person might be the final straw. I would be shocked if Rob(b) is doing some sort of strike, though. He's too stupid and to much of a sycophant to take a stand like that.

I feel for Oscar. He knows the MBA is his ticket out of TMOS. Listen to this week's TMOS and BOAD. He is a different person on each show. TMOS is killing him. He knows Mike is pissing off PAYING customers and loyal listeners. Talking about mortgages??? That is his he is talking about. On BOAD he sounds so happy. He can do that with a real job in two years. Leave the two fat guys to fail on there own. Do you really think they could do it without him? News and audio vault is all they do now after Mike's Medical bitching.
