So I listened to a bit of the lazy fat fuck's podcast yesterday. First time in several weeks. Seems like they've changed the downloading process and made it more ponderous. Money saving tactic? Don't blame them for that if so. The podcast seemed quite similar to month ago with a lot of laughing about what seemed to be an inside joke amongst the lazy fat fuck gang. Like hey we is funny. But this listener didn't find it funny just ponderously boring. I'll try listening again to the LFF podcast in hopes of a change but my expectations are low.

There was almost a nexus of events that occurred in the universe.

The O'Meara crew managed to keep the "#1" failcast above 80, for now. Seventy-nine and feelin' fine! (Rob(b), feel free to use that one)

Frankly people that "baby talk" are of the lesser educated among us. What you think is witty and humorous should embarrass you but it doesn't. It's just interesting to think about all the people MOM is making rich with his podcast. The people he is paying a commission at iTunes. The people he is paying for bandwidth. The people he is buying advertising from. The people he is buying T-shirts from.

All in his failed endeavor to make money himself.

Don is great and this new crew he has assembled( a guy named carmichael dave who is in a way like what robb would be like if it were sports and chicks he were into, and his 2 interns craig and lady g, with craig being a sex maniac, and lady g seems retarded), can make you completely forget about the old D&M days...

I caught that. It was funny how Don mentioned it casually in conversation like it was to be expected and not really that shocking of a development. Talk about a blow to Mike O's solar plexus though. I'm positive this will set him off on a 3 day bender. Holy shit how funny. Hopefully he knows about it by now. Should give him something to stew on during his dark and depressing 4:00am ride into his morning fucking zoo joke. Don can see the Ocean from his home studio, commutes to Ca and has a pending syndication deal all within 3 months upon his return.

After two years Mikes future on the other hand looks a little darker. Dark when he drives to his hole in the morning, and darker when he comes home to crawl in his hole for the podcast.

I noticed he was already pimping his "celebrity" golf tourney for sometime next spring. At least he's optimistic enough to pretend that he may still be here.

Don has proven once and for all that he was the Svengali in this relationship. He took three mediocre "talents" and gave them a platform to succeed in broadcasting. As soon as Don was done with his magic, these three mediocre men fell back to Earth.

Now, Don is doing the same thing in Sacramento.

Mike, Rob(b) and Buzz should just be thankful that Don took them along for the ride. If it hadn't been for Don, these guys would have spent most of their careers in some BFE market playing Foghat.

Absolutely, but I guarantee you that Mike O thinks that if it wasn't for his talent rubbing off on Don all those years Don wouldn't be where HE is today with a promising future in front of him. Mike O thinks of Don as someone who stole all his opportunity to continue what Mike thinks he worked so hard all those years to help build. Make no mistake , Mike O thinks he is largely responsible for Don's success and that Don is taking Mikes contribution to his success for granted.

I wonder if the "Mighty KCJJ" in Iowa will carry Don's show,,,,

THAT would be interesting,,,,,wonder how Mike would feel about that

Ironically, I still think a syndication deal for Don will benefit Mike,,

Radio execs are lazy,,, they see Don doing good,,,they'll assume Mike's show is the same thing,,they sign him up,,,stations that have carried Don And Mike in the past may think its clever programing to put on Don and then Mike and advertise "Don and Mike are back!, listen to Don at 3 and Mike at 6"

Watch ,,,it will happen

Interesting and plausible. A lot would depend on whether Mike would work for 1% of what Don will draw which is what he most likely would be offered. I don't know if his ego would allow it.

Mike was talking about (promoting) the fact he wants to have a yardsale this weekend,,,,

I'm pretty sure at this point his ego will allow it,,,

Also interesting,,,he mentioned Don and his influence and guidence on his impressions on the old show,,,

Interesting and shocking,,,Rob(b) prepared a completely original "bit" for his audio vault today,,, it was pretty funny too ( thats the shocking part)

Well, I'm sure he prefaced it with the fact that he has accumulated a lot of stuff and needs to clean his house out. I'm sure he didn't mention anything about needing money or the possibility he will be moving soon.

Sometimes desperation brings out the best in people. If it took him this long to become desperate, that speaks volumes about how out of touch he is with reality.

It wasn’t that funny. It was just a muffled recording of him hassling a telemarketer. When you have to beg the telemarketer to stay on the phone several times, you know the bit has gone south. Maybe I’m jaded because I do that kind of shit every day for my own amusement.

I was in Reno Nevada on business yesterday when I found myself walking down dumpy Virginia street looking at some of the closed casinos, drunken riff-raff and homeless wandering about (Comedy Central's "Reno911" is a very accurate depiction the city. LOL) and a perfect analogy entered my head:

Mike O'Meara is like Reno: Past it's prime, mentally destroyed, stuck in an alcoholic stupor and about 20 years behind everybody else.

Don Geronimo is like Las Vegas: Always cutting edge, providing top-notch entertainment, and a glistening jewel in the desert of radio.

I think that analogy sums it up perfectly.

Wow I can almost hear the crickets in here...

I guess that's because there isn't much going on in the world of MOM right now, I did skim through yesterday's failcast. It was a bore fest as usual. The topic du jour was weight, surprise! I did find it comical that Rob(b) professed to know everything there is to know about exercise and weight loss. He even commented to Oscar that he has "lost more weight than Oscar will ever weigh" and presented an analogy, "I know everything that makes a great pop record but I am unable to produce one". I thought the final step in mastering a subject was applying it, but what do I know, as usual Rob(b) knows best.

And now we take a break for our thread affiliates....

And we're back. Another pearl of wisdom I gleaned was when Mike stated that science has yet to unlock the key to his weight loss, because Mike is genetically predisposed to being a fat ass. This post is sponsored by netflix. http://www.netflix.com

There's a reason why you don't see photos of fat people in Nazi concentration camps (unless, of course, they are the Nazis). The reason Mike can't lose weight is because he can't stop shoving food and booze in his mouth. This "slow metabolism" thing is a bunch of bullshit. A typical male needs about 2,500 calories a day to maintain his weight. Is Mike seriously saying that he eats less than this in a given day? Does anyone believe that?

You don't have to go to the trouble of coming up with a pretense for knowing what happened on the show, you obviously listen to it on a regular basis. You're like a gay guy who won't come out of the closet. Just admit it and move on, you can still listen and hate Mike at the same time...

Listening twice over the course of a month isn't "a regular basis."

Mike also said excercising doesn't work for him because it just makes him hungrier.

That might be true at first, but if he would just stick with the diet and exercise, eventually he would lose weight, his stomach would be smaller, and he wouldn't be as hungry.

The major problem with this is that it requires effort. If the guy isn't going to put any effort into his livelihood, he's certainly not going to put it into his waistline. They should have and SAT question such as: Effort is to Mike O'Meara as _____ is to ______.

Firstly, there are three examples listed there...

Kind of like how MOM and crew come on here and pretend to be fans of the show.

Frank,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, I appreciate your enthusiasm. I assure you I’m not manufacturing a qualifier for my listening habits. Like I said, I used to listen a lot more frequently than I do now. Recently the failcasts have really started to sound the same. The reasons I have listed for listening are genuine, it seems a “slow day†is really the only thing that motivates me to listen anymore. But don’t worry buddy, I’ll still hate 24/7!

p.s. I’m now offering signed ball caps and t-shirts, pm me if you’d like one, I’ll set an XXL aside for you.

I listened to the radio show every day. Every single disappointing day after day. I wanted them to succeed so badly, and every day they killed me a little bit inside. I kept thinking they'd break out of their wacky morning-zoo-wannabe show and do something interesting--not edgy, not controversial, just entertaining. Nope.

I tried to listen to the podcast once and made it about 5 minutes and couldn't do it anymore. I think it was the Super Bowl party and if I remember right from this thread even they admitted that one was terrible, so maybe I should give them another listen just to be fair. But if it's just the same old show they put on JFK, except without callers and crappy games, then I just don't see how it can be any good.

So a squirrel runs across my keyboard and somehow the MOM ustream video pops up...

I was able to catch the ass end of Mike's "on air" yard sale spectacular. Today's failcast featured Mike and the gang perusing his bric-à-brac and commenting. What can I say, actually I'll let the "fans" do it for me.

ustream chat room excerpts:

11:59 mr_argyle: i kindof like the new freeform TMOS. but if there was no chat room it would be awful
11:59 DeansPeanuts: agreed
11:59 trejrco: Agreed, the chat room fills in the void :0
11:59 koulak: if I had to just sit here and watch this, I'd sign out long ago

Please excuse the double post...

I'm organizing a carpool to the O'Meara abode. I think I'll be taking the ol' SUV, it seats 7. It looks like doors open at 8am, so I figure I'll show up around 7:30. Maybe Mike will need help carrying some of the heavier merchandise. I'll arrive loaded with a wad of singles and I'll be keeping an eye out for bargains. It will take me a while to browse, I'll certainly have plenty of questions, and I love to haggle, hell I may be there all afternoon...

For anyone else who wants to stop by there will be plenty of parking on Grant, if space becomes limited, feel free to use Mikes little driveway on Portner, I'm sure he won't mind. Afterwards, lunch at Deli Depot anyone? See you there!

The string of great pics continues!! +10

On today's "Ron and Fez Show" on XM 202 the topic of relocating to DC and Manassas came up and Ron Bennington, said "I could do it if Mike O'Meara still owns that bar by the railroad tracks...". Unfortunately, guest Don "Wiki" Wickland, XM VP, who was in studio, said "...no, Mike had some problems and no longer owns the bar...". Ronnie said "...well I'm not moving!".

So all is not lost MOM, you got a mention on a nationwide (including Canada) satellite show!! Maybe you should bill XM/Sirius for use of your name, it might result in about as much as you are going to realize from your yard sale!!

Oh, MOM, if one of your neighbors speaks Spanish, you may want to hire them for interpreting help tomorrow. Espanol, is the **first** langugage spoken at most NOVA yard sales!!

Divertirse!!

Having listened to both Mike's podcast, raw and the Bonus Shows and Don on KHTK its a toss up as to which one is worse. Both are dated, old radio stik, worthless, and a complete waste of time. How can anyone remotely recommends Don's show on KHTK, its awful. As bad as Mike's show is its on par with Don, no worse no better.

I think those comparisons come from MOM fans who realize Mike sucks but who want Don to fail, too. Like Don can't recreate the magic without Mike. Well PPM numbers and syndication deals don't lie.

Also note, Mike defenders, that Don's success proves that PPMs are not biased against guy talk, they are biased against Mike's crappyness.

Cat is OUTTA THE BAG! Don was the Svengali behind the D&M show. He is doing the same thing in Cali, taking another group of mid-talents and making a good group. And his PPM numbers back it up. It must be killing Mike, the gravy train has pulled away. And while Mike is near bankrupcy and having yard sales, Don is buying another home, in Sacramento.

Why do you think robbay and donnie g. had a falling out? I thought they were kind of butt brothers. why didn't donnie g. take robbay with him to the big Sac show?

do you think donnie g. and the lazy fat fuck talk at all anymore? they had to do it at some point didn't they? to decide which bits and pieces from the Dons and Mikes show they would take with them

d8mn, i haven't listened to the failcast this past week and i really thought the talk about a yard sale was bs. so i guess I missed it. anybody scoop up any old dons and mikes sponges and bubous key tags? or the video from the naked olympics?

i thought ron and fez might be on the outs along with the skateboard kings op and ant over at RU Serious /XM radio /

You know how these things work. I'm sure after Don left Mike was talking shit about him at WJFK, Rob(b) did nothing to defend him, and it got back to Don. I think a lot of Don's indifference to Mike was because of the way Mike crawled up Michael Hughes's ass after Don left. I remember Mike going on the air and "tisk tisk"-ing what he had Don had done for 25 years. I think that shit adds up.

Do you think Mike gives a fuck about whose copyright he steps on? I doubt they discussed that much at all. Mike is going to use what he wants to use until a lawyer makes him stop. We've already seen that with the podcast and ASCAP.

I'm sure Mike sold shit he didn't want. I doubt anything he offered had any real value.

It could be Don just wanted to make a clean break. I don't listen to his show so far, but I used to listen to the DE show a bit when we could get it in this thread, and I listened to the new show a little at first, and it seems to me he didn't want to go right back to the old formula but wanted to start again with something new and part of that that means not bringing along the old crew. I don't think him and Rob(b) had a "falling out" really, it was just time to move on. Mike and him I don't know about the tension they might have parted ways under.

I remember Mike saying on his show that he was not invited to Don's wedding.

Perhaps Don felt he would go broke trying to keep fatties Mike and Robb fed during the event, not to mention the incredibly huge bar tab that both morbidly obese, red-nosed alcoholics would run up.

I heard it, Mike & company saying the new MOMS would be respectful of callers, and be friendlier, and make nice with all the other disc jockeys. It was like saying what Don had done was shit. And Mike sure did kiss that managers ass, for real. And I heard them all bitching about how Don got married and didn't invite them. I also heard Don state later that he had no friends at his weddding, and how he called Mike and the rest the day of his wedding to tell them. Mike never mentioned any of that on the air, just how it was bad that Don was getting married without him. After he'd trashed Don for a few months after he left. Cause remember, MIKE ISN'T GOING ANYWHERE! PINCH IT AND LICK IT!

No. But I considered going and making an indecent proposal...one month's mortgage payment for an hour with Carlita. Then I started to think about the fact that she's been under that fat ass so many times that her stomach probably smells like his ass. It made me kind of nauseous.

No wonder CBS wants to syndicate him. Maybe he can fix what dumbshits like CK have done to WJFK.

The thing about WJFK is there must be a bunch of morons listening to the crap being dispensed on that station cause the ratings are good. Me I can't stand any of the local sports talk on that station. The Junkies are a tired bit too me at this point. Despite the EB saying the show would not change last July 2009 when the format flipped from Guy Talk to Sports Talk there most definitely has been changes. good gawd a radio deejay who bald faced lied thats why I always buy my cars at the dealerships the chunkies promote. It's now Bore Talk. I get the feeling these junkies are hardly even trying anymore and I hardly ever listen anymore. Mike Wise is an effing political correct woman. I don't understand the language being spoken on the LaVar and Dukes show so I don't listen to that. Wait wait I do listen to the JT the Brick and Looney show very late nights on WJFK its an actual sports talk show. But who are these morons listening to the shit on WJFK these days I want to see them and study them to develop my theories on what physical characteristics a moron has

I didn't realize the MOM show was still on the air. I haven't listened to the show in well over a year. I've actually avoided 106.7 all together. I haven't even turned on the Sports Junkies in the morning as they stopped being funny, too. And, when Big-O and Dukes split up so Chad Dukes could pair up with Lavar Arrington - Ugh! Bye, bye, 106.7.

Yeah, about that...

The Mike O'Meara Show isn't on the "radio" any more, he does a "show" from his living room and it's on the internet. Just Google "failure".

He does have a temporary am drive gig at 105.9, but that ship has all but sailed. Catch it while you can, weekdays 6-9 am.

Ironically, this thread is currently on life support and Mike mentions it on the failcast yesterday. It was a veiled reference because they didn't want to "fan the flames" as Rob(b) put it.

Intriguing. At what point did he mention it?

Also, it should be noted that this thread went from page 1 to page 5 after five months, but jumped from 75 pages to 80 pages in 7 weeks...so if anything, it is more "alive" now than it was 2 1/2 years ago.

Listen to yesterday's failcast around 37 minutes in. Some rather hypocritical remarks are made...

It's true, this thread has made great strides recently, but it's progress is all relative. I have been neglecting my duties here. We need to raise the bar.

Mike: "There's a website...that spent a month with me in the lead for the "Turkey of the Year".

What the hell is he talking about? Was that on this thread, I'm not looking back through 80+ pages to find it.

The last time I listened to MOM, he had split up with Carla. Then, apparently, they reconciled. I'm not sure if it lasted the 2nd time because I didn't tune in again. I guess she wanted children, but ol' Mike wasn't up to it. Correct?

In fairness, DCRTV, who he sponsors, ran the contest. We just helped promote it...

If I remember right, and this was way back when the radio show was actually on so I could be wrong, they briefly split up, apparently for that reason, then they got back together and soon got married. Truly they have built their house on high and stable land.

And today, it's just Robb & Buzz. Santana has the mumps, which is a fairly valid excuse, and O'Meara is... golfing. Seriously, why even bother at this point? Pretty soon it'll just be RJ Diaz Show.

Maybe I'm grasping but I think he was talking about DCRTV and this site. He mentioned that everyone in here [Mike's living room] has had awful things said about them. This is the only source for negative comments specifically relating to individual failcast members.

While it's true DCRTV and it's mailsack have been responsible for maligning Mike and his "show" in general, this is the only forum that takes the time to pick the corn out of the pile of shit that is TMOS.

Also, he said that he can't get on every day and talk about it, it's kind of difficult to talk about one thing every day (other than dog shit), so he must be referencing the comments he reads here daily. He also admitted that it hurts his feelings.

Seriously, though, if being called "Turkey of the Year" hurts his feelings, the stuff on here must be ripping his fat guts out. Who the fuck gets upset about being called "A Turkey" in this day and age?

WAAAAAAH! When MOM was the assistant big man on campus at WJFK, did he give a shit about anyone? Did he care how he treated interns or CBS employees?

Now his feelings are hurt by this thread?

His professional pride should be hurt by having done such shitty "broadcasting" since the demise of the D&M show.

I wonder how badly his feelings will be hurt when The Edge finally fires his fat ass or when Carla finally leaves it.
