Yes but it's the same people posting over and over. Why would it hurt his feelings?

I've followed this thread for some time but this is the first time I've posted.

I listened to Don and Mike since back when they were on B106. I listened to Mike when he got his own show. I don't listen to any "pod casts" or his new morning gig.

That said, the amount of hate spewed at the guy here is simply pathetic. Some of you sincerely need to get a life. It's sad how you guys follow his every move just so you can put him down. He's a DJ, not a role model. I had no idea he had so many disgruntled groupies until I found this thread.

I’ll sit back and wait for the obligatory “you must be someone on the show†comments. Have a nice day.

I have to admit feeling somewhat sorry for Mike. He had a good thing going that seemed like it'd never end, so he was totally unprepared for it when it did. Not that it's not his fault, but it's an easy trap to fall into. He should have been quicker to adjust his attitude. He really became quite unlikable fast.

I'm sure Rob(b) had a similar attitude. He's finally in with these two longtime local radio icons, his freaking HEROES, he's got nothing to worry about for 20 years or so. Then it all falls apart.

This is still America, and we still only let fat asses succeed to a certain extent. After that, we heed our obligation to remind them that their lack of willpower, inferior genes, sickening appearance, and futile efforts to assimilate into mainstream society will only result in them being returned unceremoniously to the bottom of the social status ladder where they will be our punching bags until death

I suspect that Mike has been given notice by this point. With the holidays just around the corner wvrx will want to be the first to start playing all Christmas all the time!

I'm sure Mr. King has other plans lined up, but I seriously believe that you would see one of the sharpest upward trends in ratings the DC market has ever witnessed if you replaced K&M with Christmas music.

I think once the Citadel checks stop, Mike will kick off a pity party with a grand ol' drinking binge. He'll follow up with generally unpleasant and agoraphobic behavior. Once all of the cash reserves have been depleted Carla will serve him with the appropriate papers.

You are virtually a regular here. Why would we say that?

You might be wrong, but you aren't a member of the MOM show.

Big O and Dukes are doing a one hour weekly show on podcast now if you still want to listen to them. It is as great as they always were. Chad puts up his RROD podcasts there as well.

So according to the September PPMs, The Edge is in 8th place in its key demo when Mike is not on the air. But when he is on the air, the ratings are in the toilet.

Does Citadel management know how to read? Obviously spinning records is a winner while Mike flapping his fat yammer isn't.

I tuned into 105.9 this morning. I listened for about 30 minutes during my commute. I don't know if the show is worthy of tuning into again, though. I do remember Mike from funnier days with Don, so maybe my expectations are a bit high.

Kirk McEwan (sp?) (A.K.A. - the Kirkster): I remember when he was on DC 101 in the late 80s. He'd jam on Guns 'n Roses like there was no tomorrow. I guess he then moved to Baltimore - 98 Rock. I listened to a few of his shows when traveling through Baltimore in the early 90s during Thanksgiving time. He always had a show before Thanksgiving where they'd bowl with frozen turkeys. Odd, but I guess I found it a bit humorous. Now, here is with with the big Mike O' on 105.9 in the morning.

Gosh, radio DJ and schtick shows are some hard business. One day you're on top and doing well ... then next, you're in the crapper.

I'm not sure how much longer MOM will be around in what ever capacity. I'm sure this thread will outlast his morning show and we'll be here to piss on it when it happens.

The only thing more pathetic then MOM and his flailing radio career is the morons that get on here touting his entertainment value like "More Complete".
Whether or not this idiot is connected to the show or not is irrelevant. MOM supporters think just by saying Mikes funny makes it true. That is funny as hell but it makes me want to pinch a biscuit down the flower holder on their tombstone when they're gone.

Yeah, listened to the failcast, it's just pathetic at this point.

Yesterday only Rob(b) and Buzz showed up, it's recorded in Mike's house and he can't bother to be there, that says it all...

The highlight of today's show was a clip in "Rob(b)'s Audio Vault", even Mike commented on what a good job Rob(b) did by bringing this gem to the party.
The only problem is that the clip is over a year old and it's fake. According to news reports dated a year ago, the video was part of a PSA campaign produced by Heineken.

What have I learned today?

1. Mike and crew don't care enough to show up everyday.
2. The failcast and it's members are out of touch and lazy.
3. Real "fans" must buy t-shirts and hats.

Honestly, I hope Mike's ratings improve on 105.9 simply because the more success he has there, the less he'll give a rat's ass about the failcast, and the sooner it will be over. Buzz can finally get a job at a legitimate gig, Oscar can focus on Big O and Dukes, and Robb can move his ass to Iowa.

I'm pretty sure Mikes departure from 105.9 is immanent,,,I base that on Mike's own words,,,he seems to already know it

Bet he knows the actual day too,,,

#2 Thread will hit 100 pages

#3 Oscar will leave the podcast

#4 Mike Buzz and Rob(b) doing overnights on an AM station in Tampa

Oscar is probably already banging Carla behind Mike's back. That would help explain why he still shows up for the failcast.

Good point. Times are tough all over.

Opie and Anthony threaten to walk from XM/Sirius unless they get a big raise, then take what is likely the same or less money admitting the "hot talk" demo on FM is dead. IOW, they have nowhere to go.

The Junkies were going to survive since they always have had a sports orientation, but how much more will they get when contract renegotiation time comes up?

O'Meara could have made the JFK sports talk transition if he wanted to maintain his career and bust his ass to become sports savvy, but he was weighed down by Rob(b), Buzz and BA McBride. By that I mean, the three supporting MOMS players would have trouble identifying a hockey puck from a basketball. How was MOM going to survive @ JFK/sports talk with that crew?

MOM never could see the forest for the trees. While he was playing kissy-face with Michael Hughes and figuring he was set @ JFK, Hughes and CK were approaching Ron and Fez at XM about JFK the drive time show. But R&F had no interest in leaving a national show (and probably the XM/Siri $$) for God-forsaken JFK.

Then guess what? MOM gets fired. His strategy of hitching his star to Hughes was too little too late since Hughes was in CBS's gunsights as well. Couldn't MOM have figured that out with all his mad radio insider skills?

Oh well, I guess MOM is happy yammering for three minutes after "China Grove" gets played on pathetic 105.9 for the 50th time. I guess I'd do it for $65K like MOM, since that's a 650% increase over his podcast salary.

Yeah, and for all you complaining about this thread and the people who comment in it, read THAT post and tell me its anything other than realistic and fair. It certainly doesn't include anything about Mike's weight, his relationship or home-owner status, but 'ol dapjdj has managed to cut MOM to the quick.

Well, to be fair, Mike's going to be moving too, in the not too distant future.

Funny that Don's first interview with a podcaster is....Adam Corolla. Not Mike...Corolla.

It's refreshing to hear Don do an interview. He asks real questions instead of totally kissing the guest's ass (like Mike) or talking over the guest the whole time (like Mike). I still remember Ann Coulter yelling at Mike for not letting her talk during an interview.

No wonder Mike talks about dog shit so much. He's very familiar with it.

Mike should listen to Don's 20 min with Adam. One of Dons 1st questions was how do you make money on the podcast? Adams answer was to have lots of eyes and ears on it, then go to advertisers.
All Mike needs is to get funny and about 100,000 fans. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a random comment to bump the thread up, but it says so much about how uninteresting the failcast is that the most creative thing they can think to put at the top of each show's description to entice the listener is to inform them what day of the week it is, in case they'd forgotten. Wednes-DEE! See, they made the "day" sound like "dee," for hilarity.

That and the still ridiculously-goddamn-stupid pun numbering system. Other day's was "$199 Xbox." What the fuck does the current price on a game console have anything to do with anything? Is it supposed to be funny, clever, what?

The numbers thing was never funny. It's even less so, now, that the numbers don't correlate with anything that would even be considered a pun.

Yep, Mike is just a raging hard-on of success. I mean, I am surprised that Donnie G hasn’t given up his radio career, syndication deal, and regular paycheck and benefits to just go home and speak into a cheap Guitar Center microphone into his computer.
Everyone knows that sitting at home begging people for money is wonderful career move.

Things that seperate Don and mike:

Mike: Drunk, Gambler, and a man who has had several divorces and alimony, who put a ton of money into failed endeavors, and a mid talent, whose only real talent is mimicking voices, and now a struggling DJ, with a failcast, oh and did I mention a new young wife, that can't last for long...

Don: Shrewd, Talented, a man who has and will always be a faithful husband and good father, who used his money wisely( in fact bought homes and sold them for a profit, his old virginia home he sold for nearly 2 million, and he has a beach home and a new one in sacramento), continuing to succeed in his work...

Don is the shit, and mike is shit...lol

I believe a cause of low ratings for K&M is that abysmal 4 dozen song play list that "The Edge" plays ad nauseam. Even if the talk talent was the best, the show is unlistenable to me. Some songs, which I have heard like a million trillion billion times, have become like audio torture and I can't stand to listen to that and other "classic rock" stations that play the same narrow list as they have for the past twenty years.

Good point. I don't even know why the station bothers to employ on air talent. What the hell are you going to say in three minutes after "China Grove" finishes and you've got to cue up "Whole Lotta Love"?

A computer could run the entire station.

Surely K&MOM know they are marking time and the end is near.

Wonder how much of his yard sale money Mike lost at Charles Town this holiday weekend...

Most likely all of it and then some. His new cash generating endeavor, load all of his sound effects and music beds on a computer so he can sell the instant replays that he stole from JFK. Many had wondered when the podcast equipment would end up on eBay, well the fire sale has begun.

For those interested bidders a picture of the aforementioned equipment is below.

Of course those two thugs are gonna have DUI's! Those dirtbags don't have the mental capacity to understand that they put other people's lives in danger by getting buzzed and ending up behind the wheel. I also wouldn't be surprised if they end up in the ol' "Graybar Hotel" again for the same offense. I have to say that I strongly dislike Rob(b). The only thing he has ever been good for is tying to a tree or dressing up in women's clothes to be humiliated as part of a D&M bit. The second this idiot opens his mouth it's radio cancer, Don knew this, that's why he kept his mic turned off. If Mike knew what good radio sounded like he would follow suit and not allow Rob(b) to interject his noxious quips that could derail a freight train, and always succeed in adding that unpleasant "open mic night" quality to the failcast. Instead Mike uses this talentless fuck as a crutch to prop up his sad show. If Mike had to choose between giving up Rob(b) or the fart sounds he punctuates the show with, I wonder who would win?

Yeah, he's not likeable or funny.

I was surprised to see Donnie G. had Rob(b)'s website (robbradio.com - or something like that) as a "like" on his Facebook page.

I followed the Rob(b) Facebook link. Typically, it hasn't been updated since September 9. That dude really takes his career seriously.

He'd rather sit in MOM's living room for two or three hours a day for what? $0.00?

Rather than take his CBS career seriously and develop some professional skills, he and MOM would point fingers @ JFK long-time employees like Chris Kinard (OK, I guess he wasn't there "too" long...) and giggle that they were "company men", because as a D&M staffer and MOM on-air talent Rob(b) was surely above it all. Very, very superior our Rob(b) was.

HA! Good point. Why would Rob(b) ever consider a long term career with CBS radio?

His association with the MOM broadcasting empire has taken him to the enterainment stratosphere: Grant Avenue in Manassass and Cedar Rapids Ioway.

No way Rob(b) could go back to CBS/WJFK - he's seen the bright lights and the big city!!

I listen to Mike on 105.9 on my drive in to work, and his podcast. Both are unlistenable and I change the station/delete the podcast within seconds. I guess the only reason I hang on is my good memories of the Don and Mike show. Don's new show seems to be filling all my needs now, except his stupid wife on the air. But beyond that complaint, Mike has a long way to go to get his mojo back. I did hear him attempt a few fake Brett Favre phone messages yesterday. Not funny, but at least an attempt. I switched to 101.1.

Actually Rob(b) is rather active. I saw him yesterday while I was in GNC buying some supplements. He was looking rather ripped, as he reached for a container of creatine I caught a glimpse of his rippling abs. Just then I slipped on the snail trail left by female customers as they were flocking to get a gander at some Spewak man-meat. Good thing Rob(b) was there, he swooped in with his cat like reflexes and saved me from toppling into a shelf of over priced vitamins.

Ok, that never happened.

Today's failcast featured Mike gearing up for the inevitable...

It started with Mike referencing his current radio gig in the past-tense, as if it were already over and done with. Then it transitioned into begging for listeners to tune in, because he's "doing ok" but just needs more help. Tie a nice bow on this package of shit with Mike complaining about the station's lack of promotion for his show. Surprise, O'Meara is blaming his non-existent ratings on the station management's lack of enthusiasm to dump a pile of cash on the table. No one saw that coming! How many shows need to crash and burn before Mike has a firm grasp on reality?

The writing is on the wall and it is "22," as in 22nd Place.

It's true to some degree that the show has suffered because the station hasn't promoted it. By the same token, though, the show did debut in 17th place and quickly fell into the 20s. Obviously a percentage of those who gave it a chance didn't like what they heard.

And let's not forget that Mike hasn't really been out pressing the flesh with his listeners. I seem to recall after the launch party that the first live appearance they were supposed to do was foisted on Shamrock and K&M bailed. Seems to me if they went out and did some live remotes, even in non-paying venues, it would generate some interest.

Good point. It would seem the stations sales director or their PD would be pushing them out the door to gigs to raise awareness of the show and hopefully ratings - it doesn't cost much and it sure can't hurt.

Look at the Junkies, they complain about doing apperances, but it does put money in your pocket and generally you can get free drinks and food and other free stuff.

And, most importantly, where there's alcohol involved, it's not unusual for a radio personality, no matter how inconsequential, to get laid in the parking lot of some bar after a gig by a bored FFX MILF looking for a brush with "fame".

Keep that in mind MOM, I'm sure Kirk has enough pimp hand to manage the ladies just fine.

But Rob(b), if **you** tag along to a K&M gig, you can never tell - if you bust a few Kung Fu moves, dazzle the ladies with backstage nuggets about the "Andy Griffith Show" - boo-yah!! Lighting could strike!!

I think they cut back on personal appearances because of JP's sexcapades. I think the other three wives clamped down on the tail-chasing.

There's always one jackass that ruins it for everyone else.

I thought I'd follow suit and pick out a present for Mike. I think he may already have a subscription to this one though...

Thanks, YoungDCian. This thread had gotten a little quiet.

Yeah, I thought I'd add a little something. The MOM front seems quiet at the moment. I assume things will heat up a bit when Mike gets canned from WVRX, that will be a good time to tune into the failcast. I don't see him hanging around too much longer at "the edge" so that should breathe a little life into the ol' thread.

Don gave Mike's show a nice plug today. It won't help.

Its time for all fans of the D&M show to start call Don's show and put some heat on him to ask Mike to be on his new show 916-339-11140 noon to four pst. Remember only through sheer numbers can we begin to bridge the gap. Don's new show is great but its missing the old D&M Magic. Let's get this done.
