Sounds like there is more going on here than a gash on the head. Wonder is there is swelling or bleeding going on?

Who knows, but most definitely a concussion. In light of Natasha Richardson, he's probably getting some tests run and being held for observation.

I am the #1 newsman and "MTM" shtick is still funnier than Mikes failcast.

Besides, "MTM" still holds up compared to any of the poorly written bullshit sitcoms and "reality" shows that are on today.

I'll let you get back to your "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" crapathon. LOL ;-)

Agreed. That would require class and grace, two words that don't describe Mike.

Thinking of class-less, grace-less fat-ass Mike, a random D&M Show incident springs to mind... Mike fucking attacking an entire fresh apple pie that Janet had just baked and delivered for Buzz's birthday. Despite everyone in the studio (and Janet on the phone) objecting, Mike couldn't help but plunge his morbidly obese hands into it. I remember at first Buzz promising to share if he'd just wait 20 more minutes to set (as it had just come out of the oven) but he couldn't even manage that. Then later it turned out Janet had been genuinely hurt and pissed that Mike had so sloppily consumed Buzz's lovingly prepared gift. "What did I ever do to Mike O'Meara?" she pleaded at home to her husband. Everyone finally made him feel bad enough about it that he just finally sent her some random pots & pans to "make up" for it.

How long before we hear, "We are going in a new direction with the station," and Mike gets shown the door?

As the ratings have shown, you don't need a wacky morning zoo on a classic/AOR formatted station.

I tried to listed to the whole fail cast, but I couldn't so I skimmed through it and no expression of any sympathy for Don, unless it was very, very brief.... Stay classy O'Meara.

One interesting note; Mike now claims that the failcast has been the #1 weekly podcast on itunes since they started. Is he now delusional or a blatant liar?

Just noticed that Mangrates is no longer a sponsor? I thought Senor Oscar worked for the company or works with a company that does business with Mangrates? And doesn't Senor Oscar's woman also work for Mangrates? So what happened? And don't see the plastic sturgeon that was sponsor at start on the TMOS site no more.

They categorize their bonus shows as "comedy albums," and end up on top because they are competing with "Meat Bob" from more than 20 years ago. I don't see any other podcasts calling their paid shows "Comedy albums." Wonder how long before iTunes puts an end to that practice.

Well, I skimmed through the show and unless I missed it, no mention of Don...

Today's failcast was a shill-fest for a "doctor" that sponsors Mike. I have to imagine that even the most die-hard TMOS "fans" tuned out for this one.

The only redeeming element of the show was the doctor's assistant, she was seated next to Mike for the duration of the program. I don't blame her for not laughing at the jokes, she has no reason to fake it. She did nothing other than glare at Mike the whole time. It was great, she didn't even crack a smile, you could almost read her mind.

It's quite obvious that she was thinking that the good doctor had flushed her next pay raise down the toilet that is TMOS, and she wanted to get out of there ASAP!

That's too funny!

Too bad Mike couldn't muster a minute or two to mention what happened to Don and how their prayers are out there, blah, blah, blah. It would have been a touch of class, but as I mentioned, Mike has none.

In Mike's defense (did I just type that?), this "show" may have been recorded earlier [last week] for the doctor's convenience. The show seemed to be focused on the "client" and not much else. With the lack of topicality, it's possible that the show may have been canned, or just another languid, lackluster performance by Mike and crew.

But if the show was "live"...
I don't really care about the bad blood between them, 20+ years together deserves at least a "get well" mention. Petty Fucker!

It may have been "in the can," but how hard would it have been for Mike to record a 30-second spot to put on the front of the podcast?

Lazy and petty. There's no other explanation for it.

No, it wasn't pre-recorded. Mike talked about his Saturday night (at another appearance with listeners where he ate all the food that was prepared for them) and they also discussed the results of the football games over the weekend.

I suppose it is possible that Mike simply didn't know about it when they were recording, but you'd think that at least Don's original lackey Robb would have insisted on a "get well soon": there's NO chance that Rob(b) wasn't paying attention. Maybe Mike is so insanely bitter and such a megalomaniac that he didn't mention anything out of sheer jealousy-fueled schadenfreude?

They put something up on their Facebook page yesterday, so they undoubtedly knew about it. And, no, a Facebook post by someone who probably never met Don is not sufficient.

Hell, Howard Stern, who hated Geronimo, sent flowers to Freda's funeral. And Jack Diamond, who Don trashed for years, showed up to her memorial service.

The least Mike, who owes his entire fucking career to Don, can do is give him a fucking "shout out" on his failcast while Don lays in an ICU.

I knew he was petty, but wow.

I have to imagine that everyone on TMOS came to Mike and asked if they would be able to do a brief mention. Mike kiboshed the whole deal, I'm sure.

Envy is a bitch, and so is Mike because of:
• No more coattail to ride
• No free promotion from Don in the past
• Lack of communication from Don (emails not returned)
• Mike's lack of ratings/Don's ratings success
• The "incident" occurred at a packed live show

Mike loves to blame everyone else for his failure, I'm sure he has piled a heaping helping of blame on Don's shoulders. So this is the only feeble retaliation Mike has.

I tried to post a question as to why there was no mention of Don on the failcast message board and of course it did not get through the mediator.

It's no wonder they don't take calls, they are afraid of any unedited interaction with the public, it would almost certainly embarrass them.

They should be embarrassed.

Edit: I bet anything they are deleting comments as soon as they show up on Facebook. Whatever "fans" they have left should be outraged by this.

The best place to put Mike on blast would be the DCRTV mailbag. It looks as though that's been taken care of.

There are now two logical courses of action in the world of MOM. First, completely ignore the situation, that's what is actively being pursued at the moment. Or make up a lame excuse for being tardy and give Don a half-assed shout out. Which will he choose?

The only reason I can think of that would keep Mike from mentioning Don and wishing him well is that big crowd in the picture,,,he's mentioned Don at least once a week for months telling stories etc acting like they're still friends,,,

What would keep Rob(b) and Buzz from mentioning Don is the question

I bet Dukes mentioned Don on his show,,,,bet they talk about it on BOAD's podcast

Why would Mike allow the guy that made him steal attention away from his show. Just because he split his skull wide open. God forbid! People might log off the failcast and check on Don's condition. I'm sure Mike thought he had already put up enough with the whole "Freda thing" and such. What an ass.

Great news Donnie G is out of the hospital. As far as I know he should make a full recovery and be back to work in a few weeks. The fact that Mike and crew didn't mention him on there pod cast just shows how much bitterness they hold toward him for leaving the old show. I for one love the old D&M show, but what Don did for Mike, Buzz and Rob is show them how to do a successful show, I guess they weren't paying attention. Don is truly the Radio God and we love him in Sac, his new show in some ways is better than the old show, because Don no longer has to carry 3 talentless hacks on his back. If you haven't listen to Don's new show your missing out, It's a funny and timely as the old show ever was. To the MOM crew show some class, don't do what Leno did to Carson, Reckonize who gave you all what you have today, Don Geronimo.

Today's Mike O podcast*** just goes to show you how self-absorbed Mike is. He's totally obsessed with this podcast*** instead of thinking about his old partner that ended up in the hospital with a serious head injury. On today's podcast*** he seemed more concerned about giving that dull plastic surgeon more props than anything else.

Mike's already bad podcast*** has turned into an even worse informercial for boring plastic surgeons, lame fantasy football sites, washed-up hockey players and dive bars. What an unentertaining waste of bandwidth.

This whole podcast*** is a perfect example of how Mike is reluctant to try something new and expand his skillset into a different field. There are so many other opportunities out there, but he continues to think the radio business wants him. Today's radio world is survival of the fittest... and Mike is terribly unfit.

***I will always refer to it as a podcast. Using the term "show" is too much of a compliment... because it's not entertaining enough to be called a show. The word "show" also implies that there is some sort of a show business aspect to it. There is no evidence of show business on this podcast***. These are just guys sitting in a dog shit covered living room acting like 9 year olds pretending to be wacky Morning Zoo guys on the radio. What a shame. Somebody also needs to tell them that Morning Zoo type radio went out of popularity a while ago. It just proves how these guys (especially Robb & Mike) are still living in the past.

I think "Area Man" was talking about TMOMS's comments section. There is one comment from yesterday re: Don's fall, but nobody calling out Mike for not mentioning it on the pod.

The TMOMS comment section is VERY tightly controlled. One week, when Mike was particularly angry I commented that I'd been fast forwarding through to the audio vault. That was deemed too controversial, and didn't pass the censor (probably Marc). They only want cheerleaders who say things that potential advertisers might want to hear. Fear and greed suppressing honest comments. Boring.

That's why it is failing to grow. It took them six weeks to have 1.5 million downloads and another 10 months to get an additional 2 million. They are going the wrong direction.

It's quite obvious to anyone who listens to the failcast or visits the web site that the fan base is dwindling and not growing. I'm sure it's painfully obvious to those trying to make a living from TMOS, I think that's why they are beating down potential "advertisers" doors trying to get as much cash as they possibly can before the whole operation goes belly up. They have squeezed as much cash out of the few who actually listen to the failcast and I think most small business owners in the area are wise to the phony pitch and inflated numbers given by the "sales staff". It looks as though due to loyalty to Mike or lack of commonsense the cast and crew are going to ride this bitch until the wheels fall off.

had mike gotten drunk and fallen on his head, all you fuckers would have piled on him like there was no tomorrow. "Oh that stupid fat drunk can't even stand up." or some variation of the same line you guys would all say over and over in a different way. We get it, you all wanna slurp don until his dick falls off. sorry, he is happily married though. yeah, mike certainly should have thrown a shout out to don, but why do you all care so much? if you hate his show, why do you care about its content? let me just remind you, it wasn't mike's dumbass who got too drunk to stand up.

now to change sides here. had mike done an appearance and fallen down, no one would have known about it because only five people would have seen it. lol

Well the lazy fat fuck did mention donnie g.'s accidnet on The Edge this morn, Tuesdee, around 6:30 am perhaps I'm reading into it but seemed like a lack of sincerity but then again wasn't that a schtick on the Dons and Mikes show when somebody got hurt or died
Mr. Mike did get in he had sent a note but any info on donnie g.'s condition seemed to have come 2 or 3rd hand i.e. via facebook

Were you there? Do you know what happened? Maybe we should let Mr. Sorce's attorneys know about the unsubstantiated accusations being thrown around here.

I think the "drunk" charges are coming from MOM crew and/or fans. Most witnesses said that the lights were bright, he bent over to talk to someone and missed the edge of the stage.

As for getting on Mike, I'm sincere in saying that if Mike ended up in an ICU over something like this, I wouldn't be laughing at him. It's one thing to fall on your ass. It's another thing to be hospitalized over it.

For what? It's not their fault that he fell off the stage. I would think that would end his career in radio if he actually did it.

I don't know if he would have a case, and it would be short-sighted. Yet, it strikes me as the kind of thing Don would do.

It depends on a lot of factors, but I would expect the station would have taken out some kind of liability insurance in the event a riot broke out and audience members were injured. But was it an officially scantioned station event that CBS Radio's legal staff reviewed and approved?

The venue operator may be liable for not providing a safety barrier at the stage borders, but is that a station/CBS issue? Maybe if they hired a company to set up the stage.

Who knows, Donnie G. Sorce was and is many things, not the least of which is a tendency to self distruct, so I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled a lawsuit stunt, but above all else, he loves being on the airwaves and that would end his CBS career and make him untouchable to other companies.

But radio is a funny, funny business. After getting booted from JFK, I thought MOM was headed to Tampa or Columbus, Ohio or Richmond - but what happens? He bobs to the surface in DC Metro drive time. Whodathunkit?

Regarding CBS, how many times did Don breach...or come close to breaching...his contract with CBS? The guy walked off the air for weeks at a time.

Like I said, it wouldn't surprise me if he sued somebody over this. It's kind of the way he approaches life.

Good point, I hadn't thought of that in years, but it does point to the immature, self destructive (maybe self loathing?) aspects of DG's personality.

I believe those walkabouts led to the current fellings with MOM and DG. Don's walkabouts cost MOM $$ he could ill afford to lose given his chaotic personal life (multiple marriages, children, divorces).

That being said, Carlita shouldn't expect lots when the big guy clutches his chest and hits the floor, headed for his eternal job as a phone screener at station WGOD, in Purgatory, Heavenville.

According to the agreement that she signed, Sra. Carlita stands to gain significantly more fundage if a cardiac event leads to their parting rather than a divorce. The question is, can she wait him out?

Don looks rough. He may be a self-involved SOB, but damn, he has had some tough shit in his life.

I just hope when he's back on the air it's not 3 hours a day of "funny stories from home when I was laid up."

The actual "shows" are the property of CBS. The related elements and "intellectual properties" are bound by a verbal agreement between D&M. So I have to give Mike credit for not ripping off everything from the old show.

It's quite obvious that Mike is scraping the bottom of the barrel for material every day, and his crew isn't capable of writing anything other than a knock knock joke from the 1940s. His "best bit" was the "tattoos for tots" gag, and even that was handed to him by JFK management.

I do admire him for not trying to crappily recreate the D&M show.

Did JFK management come up with that idea? If so, they probably also came up with the "Rob(b)'s Cancer Kid" episode. You remember the one...dedicated to promoting awareness and not exploiting a sick kid...until they realized the didn't have a web address to promote this good cause.

Pathetic.

That gem of an idea emanated from the mind of Michael Hughes, I forget whether he came up with it or "borrowed" it from a prep service. It certainly was not a MOM original. I think Hughes was feeling sorry for Mike and threw him a bone.

"Cancer Kid" was a hair-brained exploitation-fest brought on by desperation and Rob(b)'s convenient access to his son. That's Rob(b) shtick, when he's out of ideas he just brings in something he has laying around his house. If not for O'Meara's wise intervention the show may have been titled "Rob(b)'s Cancer Corner". I do blame the phony "awareness" aspect on Mike, sounds like his sort of spin.

That being said, I'm glad his kid is currently Cancer free. That poor boy has enough to deal with at home...

The exploitation of Rob(b)'s son was unbelievably tasteless. When Rob(b) is on his deathbed, I hope he prays for forgiveness. Otherwise if there is a Hell, he'll be there.

Absolutely and it was a disater. As clarification, I meant Lady Baltimore wasn't an advocate of tying your success to porn but if what you had to offer, didn't have make the grade, you would tie it to porn, which is exactly what they did.

There really is no reason for a lawsuit...

Yes, it is standard practice to mark the edge of the stage with brightly colored gaffers tape when the talent hasn't rehearsed in that venue.

However, any attorney would advise their client against recounting the events to the media, especially mentioning that you "tripped over the mic cable".

Case Closed.

Sorry, but the Virginia code doesn't apply in this case.

People on this board would have to send harassing messages to Mike's PERSONAL e-mail address in order for it to be harassment.

There is no personal harassment involved on this board because this is simply a public forum. This forum is not owned by Mike and he could not claim to be harassed by it because he has no vested interest in it, personally, financially or otherwise.

Now get back to your "harassment" ladies and gentlemen!!!

Did they know each other before the passing of Donnie g.'s first wife

Did Donnie g. date any other women besides the present wife

How's Beth Ann doing these days?

And how about Frank Murphy and Charlie Broyhill? How they doing?

Since Mike has a "network" now, I thought he could use a logo.

Mike: This is a freebie, feel free to use it on all official affiliate correspondence.
