Yup. Playing pretend radio station like a fourth grader takes a lot effort. Too bad all that effort didn't go into finding meaningful employment to keep the creditors at bay. Instead it went into thousands of dollars of equipment, bandwidth and crappy t-shirts.

Don did not charge for his live show either. 3000 people...can you imagine how much Mike would have charged?
That is once you get past the fantasy that 3000 people would show up for anything he is doing.
Mike is broke, both in his bank account and in his ability to entertain.

What's your favorite part of the show? How about where Mike complains about his life and finances for an hour? Or how about when Robb laughs at everything that comes out of Mike's skull before playing audio clips of YouTube videos? Or maybe listening to Oscar chip in like once every 10 minutes only to be made fun of by Mike for being Latino?

You didn't ask me, but my favorite parts are:

1. When Mike complains about dog shit, and
2. When Mike "breaks for stations down the line."

Pure comedy goodness!

Technically, this isn't hate mail, is it? I mean, I don't send the guy shit through the mail to his house or via e-mail. I consider this a passive platform. If he chooses to come here, read this and gets pissed off, that's his own fault.

"We haven't started shopping it to TV but we are open to it should the opportunity present itself," says O'Meara's business manager Marc Ronick

This makes about as much sense as him saying: "I haven't asked Jessica Alba out, but I am open to it, should the opportunity present itself."

All in all, he's probably got a better shot of the latter happening.

Very true,

Mike was talking about some guy that sent him a facebook message criticizing the failcast. This prompted Mike to send him a follow up message calling the guy fat. So I guess he sure showed him.

I don't feel bad at all about posting here. I'm not proactively seeking the attention of Mike and crew. If they happen to stop by and read something that upsets them, that's not my fault. We are just a small group of like-minded individuals who chose to express our distaste with TMOS. Ultimately this is a complement to Mike.

I just enjoyed Mike's comments about the hate mail. He also started to talk about other online based hate, and quickly backed off so as to not "fan the flames".

Mike's rant today about hate mail says a lot about him:

He can dish it out, but he can't take it.

Talk about a big crybaby. You'd think a guy his age would have mellowed out by now. Today he came across like a very immature 13 year old.

Good things in life do come to him, but I think his immature attitude ends up ruining them.

I listened a bit more to marc maron, he isn't bad, I probably shouldn't have started with the interview with carlos mencia( aka Ned Harless( who isn't even mexican, but honduran, and also part german, who steals everyones jokes, and puts on a fake accent, who is really an electrical engineer who went into comedy))...

Maron is ok, but as far as other podcasts, I like joe rogans podcast, adam carollas is good, and as is larry millers, and for real entertainment, I also listen to alex jones... there are a few others I have been meaning to get into( such as steven toblowsky's podcast)...I still like don, and I think he is doing great things here in sacramento, and I look forward to hearing him on monday....

He's like a schlocky old comedian waiting for a chance to throw out a well worn bit instead of coming up with anything original or interesting to say.

After listening to that segment, it sounds like O'Meara is a paranoid freak. I can't believe an assinine message sent to him on facebook would bother him so damn much. EVERY person in the public eye gets some hate mail now and again. It comes with the territory. Seeing that O'Meara didn't just shrug it off goes to show the rest of the world that he can't stand any kind of criticism whatsoever.

He ended up sounding like a big jack-off that was PMSing. Maybe he ran out of tampons that day too. lol

What a world class baby Mike O'Meara is. Instead of just being quiet and waddling off into the sunset, his attitude will constantly leave him in the role of wanna be/never was. These fantasy like statements - animated series?!?- breaking for non existent stations?!? - he is so fascinating his stories alone carry the failcast -are among the reasons this egotistic fool is still believing headlines from the glory days, when Don would set up whatever talent he had. It is a sad state of affairs. And his classic rock radio show?!? 22nd place after 5 months says it all.

I remember I had a Don & Mike shirt back during the days when they were arguably at the height of their popularity and even THEN people asked me who Don and Mike were. It was usually preceded with something like, "is that some sort of radio show?" Think about wearing a shirt for THIS disaster. Blank stares all around. Or maybe you'd get:

"Hey, nice South Park shirt!...oh, wait."

Seriously wally, I will hook you up, let me know what you'd like to see on a shirt. I think it would be hilarious to see someone at a TMOS event wearing something created here. Mike just might cry, or most likely get pissy and storm off. So, I'll do my best to make your vision come to life in t-shirt form. I may not be a graphics professional, but at least I'm not trying to earn a living from my "hobby".

At this point, I think Mike needs to be worried about his health (both physical and mental).

I just listened to the "show" and Mike said he went out Saturday night with his band. He got so drunk and nasty, one guy in the band quit.

When Mike got home, he raided the fridge and found some cookie dough, which he heated in the microwave for a few minutes and then ate. Ugh!

The next day, he called the guy he pissed off and apologized.

This might be normal behavior for a nineteen year old guy, but for someone who's 50? Mike needs to get some counseling. He's got so much anger in him, and these outbursts make it sound like he's on the verge of cracking up.

Where indeed. You have to wonder who made that decision in the first place - and given MOM's bitching about his "janitorial" job in DC and his clear obcession with the podcast/video/merchandising empire - someone at Citadel would have noticed he's also on autopilot during am drive times, which leads to 23rd place overall.

I'd suggest this to the genius programming staff at WVRX: Play China Grove/Whole Lotta Love/Anything by AC/DC and well, China Grove again back to back to back so MOM can catch a nap and burn off some of the alcohol fumes so he can generate a little energy in the 6am hour.

Kirk/MOM/Cerphe - can't Citadel do any better? Maybe think about hiring someone in their 30's with an attitude. The Edge key demo probably doesn't care about chatty DJ's but an outrageous personality would be my attempt to pump up the ratings.

Kirk and Cerphe are sailing into retirement age, MOM is headed for foreclosure and homelessness (well, he and Carlita will probably be able to bunk down on Rob(b)'s couch for a month or two...) - it's time to hire new talent.

What else does Citadel have to lose, this strategy isn't working.

Given where Mike was when they hired him, if Citadel management gave him any kind of lengthy contract without a performance-based clause, the idiot who drew up the contract should be fired, too.

They must have him signed for DIRT cheap. I can't imagine he's costing Citadel much at all for them to keep him on the air. Also, if Mike was making enough at the 105.9 gig, I seriously doubt he'd still be pushing all the bonus shows, schwag and other MOMS crap.

I listened to the episode where Rob(b) shared his pipe-dream about running the station in Iowa City. It's apparent these guys all realize that they are coming to the end of the road with the failcast and probably living in NoVA (for Mike and Rob(b), anyway). They were talking about trying to run the podcast with each other long distance, but that's more idiotic than what they are doing now (if that's conceivable).

Ultimately, I see Oscar figuring out what to do with himself besides wasting time with failed podcasts. Buzz will still be able to get enough voice work and the occasional weekend news reading gig to keep himself above water. Mike will finally take that Midday job in Roanoke that's got his name written all over it. And Rob(b) will be the evening guy/janitor at KCJJ, until the guy who owns the stations realizes what a fucking mistake that was and fires his ass.

The Belcher was doing phony calls for Don's new show for a bit after his show got going. There was a falling out between them a couple of months ago when Don referred to The Belcher as a dog, or pet. The Belcher messaged him on facebook telling him to basically "fuck off" because of that statement. Don tried to tell The Belcher on air that his comment was not intended to offend him and that it was a complement and to contact him about it. But since then, there has been no more contact between either. Neither of the the two were freinds on facebook shortly after the incedent.

Oh for God's sake. It looks like the Belcher has a really thin skin. He's now had his feelings hurt by both Mike and Don. Get over yourself, dude. You do prank calls where you say "balls" and "whoopee" repeatedly and burp, you're not some genius performance artist.

HA!! His "band"?!?!?!

WTF is it called? The "Mike O'Meara Experience"?

What dive would hire them to play.

I hope some can answer these questions, I'm on the edge of my seat!!

Note: I googled the MOM band, no hits.

Very good point. If I were to throw him a bone, it might have been in the $65K range max. But as WTL pointed out, there'd be some ratings goals he'd have to achieve on the upside, certainly not on his current trend.

If the Junks get their new contract in the $400/$500K range, which I suppose I could live with given their demos, MOM would have to take way less than $65K given his ratings.

But, "WTF MOM" doesn't care, whatever Citadel pays him helps him chip away at debt and keeps the booze flowing.

But as you noted, we've just go to wait - when the t-shirts, bonus shows, cartoon downloads, baseball caps, etc. **really** start to sell, then it's party time!!

Maybe Rob(b) can afford a new XXXXXL leisure shirt!

The band is called "Nasty Little People," or NLP for short. I saw them play live once at Jimmy's Tavern in Herndon. It was completely random too. I went to Jimmy's for a Memorial Day cook out, and had no idea the fat fuck was going to be there. I have to say, Mike may be a shitty broadcaster/failcaster, but he has some talent on the drums. His band was pretty good too. The lead singer had a really good voice and ripped the fuck out of the guitar. Kind of a bluesy style. He must have felt weird though. He didnt look a day over 20 years old but he was playing with a 90-year-old bassist, and a fat drummer. Overall though, the music wasn't bad.

His band is more entertaining than his podcast, imo

I just can't get over the fact that Mike laid it all out on his failcast...

A couple of months ago O'Meara said that his radio show was tanking (I'm paraphrasing) and that the station management requested that he promote the morning show on the failcast. This signifies that, yes management has been breathing down his neck about the ratings failure he co-hosts every morning. More importantly it cements the fact that Mike used the failcast as a bargaining chip while negotiating his contract. I guess Citadel bought the bullshit numbers posted on the web site.

Have you ever taken a look at the "advertising" section of the O'Meara site? It's chock full of bullshit facts and figures about his "audience", download stats, and a host of other made up shit. Bottom line, if even half of what was posted on that page was true, his radio show ratings would have seen a little bump. Instead, his current PPM stats are now lower than ever!

You may have bullshitted your way into a shit contract, and fooled a few "advertisers" but the truth always cuts through the bullshit eventually.

Nice job boys!

It could be that he's reaching the acceptance phase of the 7 stages of grief. Nah...he'll blame management.

Actually Mike’s career would be best represented like this:

Mike is on a jazzy being towed by one of the runners. He laughs as he plows through the first few hurdles, and then the person towing him leaves him in the dust. He then lists to the left and slowly rolls off a cliff, all while complaining about his “lack of tractionâ€.

Why the fuck is a girl that age who is that bad at hurdles even in the competition? Sounds like the product of asshole parents who push their kids to do something they hate and aren't very good at for some sort of sadistic pleasure.

I'm not saying people should just give up when they run into an obstacle. But at this point in this kid's life, it should be obvious this isn't what she was meant to do. No shame in admitting defeat instead of pretending you are good at something you completely suck at (there's your Mike comparison).

I'm not a parent, so I reserve the right to change my mind about this later, but what I would do in this situation, assuming this was the girl's choice in the first place, is tell her "Good for you for trying. If you want to keep trying go for it, but if not, don't worry about it too much. I'm sure there's something you are better at you can do." After, of course, I finished laughing.

What I wouldn't do is try to turn what is surely one of this poor girl's most embarrassing moments into some kind of cheesy feel-good youtube video filled with crappy platitudes about never giving up.

This Youtube comment explains it better:

"Seriously everyone. This video is 6yrs old. Alexis did run the hurdles again and didn't fail. She did give me permission to post the video and all of her friends have seen it, while they do find it funny they do support her and her courage. She was an 8th grader and this was the first meet. Most of the comments today will NOT be approved. She is looking forward to a Tosh.0 web redemption. Bring it on Tosh."

So I guess this guy was hired to tape school events. Still fucked up though, and if I were her parents I'd have words with the guy who posted this video. Strange choice of occupation, probably the kind of guy who takes his work home with him...

At about 27 minutes into today's failcast Mike talks about why Conan's new show and Saturday Night Live suck so much and are not funny.

But if you really listen to his rant, it almost sounds like he's describing his own show. LOL

I listened to last Mondays edition of the lazy fat fuck's Duh Edge morning show

somewhere in the mix of describing his Lost Weakend he said he was taking the next step in his weight loss. He was hitting the treadmill. anyone hear how much time he's put in this week?

I notice a big sponsor on the lazy fat fuck's Edge morning show is some kind of meal replacement smoothie for weight loss. do you think the lazy fat fuck uses the product? No really man at this point does he need a fucking intervention or he's going to stroke out

listened to Donnie g.'s return show nov. 8 I found it entertaining it made me laugh , it made my eyes a little moist and I ate some german potatoe salad

Actually, the video should be about the chick in the red hoodie. I think she crashed and burned on more gates, still managed to beat this Alexis gal and wasn't blubbering at the end, unlike Alexis.

That reminds me of when Robb lost a 200 lb man off of his frame by using Doctor's Weight Loss or something. It's always easy to lose weight when there's sponsorship money behind it.

I have to agree. Plus the girl in the red hoodie was shorter and heavier than Alexis. So clearing each hurdle was a much bigger challenge. Hats off to the chubby girl in the red hoodie!

8) Podcasting equipment repossesed.

I've listened to a few of Don's shows, and I have to say there is a big difference between a one hour segment of Don, and Mike's one hour podcast.

Don stays on track. He tells a story from start to finish. He obviously has certain topics that he wants to cover, and he actually covers them!

Mike and his crew ramble all over the place. They'll begin talking about a certain topic, then Oscar, Robb or Mike will make some random comment, and they go off on a tangent. That tangent leads to another tangent. And, of course, they spend way too much time talking about their overpriced t-shirts and hats.

Don's show is so much tighter. He's definately in the driver's seat and leading the show. He keeps it on course.
