So let's get this straight. If you want the deal for 2011, you can't shows on December 25, 2010. But you can get shows through 2013???

Here it is, Christmas Day of all days, and the Mike O'Meara Haters & Defenders make a point of wasting time posting on this board instead of spending the holiday with their families. Peoples' priorities are sure out-of-whack in this day and age.

"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were so afraid. And the angel said unto them, ‘Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.’ And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.’"

Interesting point Santie Claus, if it were my money, I'd pass on the O'Meara podcast for $100, spend another $40 or $50 and get a hell of a lot of XM/Sirius programming, including "Ron and Fez", who are just a "little" more entertaining than MOM and his wacky krew.

Just sayin' Santie...

I would like to learn more about these diabolical cyber attacks on Mike's computers by competing podcasts. Something tells me it has more to do with Rob(b) cruising porn sites than with any organized DOS attacks.

They're pretty sure it was launched by some group called "Anonymous" from the website 4chan, not by competitors.

Like Anonymous would give a fuck about the Mike O'Meara Show.

These guys need to quit blaming their own technical incompetence on a group that goes after Scientology and WikiLeaks. Anonymous doesn't fuck around with stupid and insignificant targets like crappy podcasts no one listens to.

"The podcast contract?" No such thing exists unless you made it up yourself. That's like saying, I've got a deal with "show business"! And there is a worry about it ending in 2011 because it will end in 2011.

I give the show a 1 in 25 chance of surviving this upcoming year. And that's being generous.

The Anonymous people on this 4chan site were up in arms over some pretty controversial stuff that Robb Spewak said last month. Robb's not afraid to speak his mind, and those Anonymoys thugs are really tryng to put the screws to him, even if it means attacking Mike or Buzz in the process. Just last week Mike was walking through a store parking lot, and out of the blue somebody thru something at him. It almost hit him in the head, he's lucky he ducked.

Predictions for 2011:

- Citadel realizes it can have shitty ratings with just one salary versus two and cans Mike.

- Carrie moves home to Iowa...with or without Rob(b).

- Oscar gives up on the notion of a career in radio after realizing it is a dead-end road.

- Buzz continues his semi-retirement, getting the occasional voice-over gig when he isn't undergoing convalescence.

- Carla figures out that 300lbs + Five-figure salary = Divorce.

- Ronick finally gets that call from Foot Locker he was hoping for.

- Chad and LaVar get the hook and Donnie G is back on WJFK for evening drive. For the first time since D&M, WJFK has a show in the Top 10.

- Mike finally relents and goes to work as a midday DJ in Roanoke for $18K a year.

I agree with all the predictions, and I'm puzzled by O'Meara's attachment to DC, he probably could have landed a gig in a Tampa-type Fla. market, made something close to the $$ Citadel is paying him and lived a decent existence.

And why wouldn't he? I mean, when random people started throwing things at you in the Safeway parking lot, it's time to move on.

If Rob(b) can get a few hours on air time @ KJCC and board op hours he should go. There ain't nothing left for him in DC radio. Sadly, the zenith of Rob(b)'s career was his announcing gigs at FedEx field, when JFK had the 'Skins games.

I could go on, but it's always the same thing with O'Meara and his crew, they won't listen to sound advice from radio people because they are too cool and know better.

And with their record of success - who can argue with their collective decision making?

I used to be a long time fan of the D & M show back in the day. Just recently found this forum and the podcasts of both MOM and DonG at the same time. That being said, both Don G's new show and MOM's podcast suck pretty bad. Last week Don G spent almost the entire show playing old Beatles records from his childhood! WTF!!!? It was one of the most painful experiences of my life, and if you don't believe me, I suggest you checkout the podcast on CBS Sac yourself. It seems to me like he has just given up or something. I realize the ratings are high, but in our area it's him or Dr. Laura sooooooo.......I think that may help him a little.

MOM is just sad as well....I must say this forum is more fun than either show.

Don's last show of the year was the same as the old D&M days, it's his Beatles fixation. Listen to any other show, any other day that week or the week before. He was stirring up shit with Xmas trees in the station, got written up in the paper about it.
Oh, and how was Mike's Xmas show?
Never mind.
I'm sure it was great, as always.

Mike can't handle the criticism of his failcast on his forum. He regularly deletes negative posts from the failcast's Facebook page and website. Given this, why the fuck would Rob(b) venture into 4chan to promote the MOM shitfest? If FFXU is a religious slur, 4chan is the fucking Holocaust.

I'm totally clueless when it comes to the costs of bandwidth and such. Seems like a total waste of money if you ask me. It's like the guy is digging his own financial hole even deeper. Maybe if he had Lloyd Braun as his business manager, things would be a whole lot different! Ha!-Snort!

You had to hear the podcast to get the full gist of the things, but basically Robb launched into a vocal defense of Scientology and Elrond Hubbard.  He lambasted the hacker  attacks, naming them a threat to free religion, labeled them as a bunch of tools and nerds without jobs or girlfriends, then said a few other choice words not fit for the air.  Robb himself does not believe in Scientology, but he's heard some parts of Dianetics on audio book and really has  a lot of respect for Elrond.  It's not something he practices per se, but Robb will stand up for things he thinks are right, even if that makes him unpopular.  He thinks it's important to be critical, but thinks those hacker attacks really crossed the line.

If Rob(b) really did rant about these things then there's a chance the /b/tards might have jumped on him. Despite their larger goals as of late, sometimes they will fixate their aggro on a smaller target. A guy who supports Scientology and decrys Wikileaks might just fit that MO. And if Robbay does believe that shit then he is at a new level of stupid.

Funny how this MOM troll believes Anonymous is attacking the MOM website but that Donnie G is making those calls late at night. If 4chan really is going after MOM, it would be within their MO to post Mike's home phone number.

I'm sure someone or people somewhere, quite possibly on the show, are having a great laugh thinking we actually fell for their lame attempt at trying to stir up a "controversy" on this site. Trying to rattle the cage of nerds on FFXU as they see it.

I wonder when they're going to descend back into MOM's basement to create more shows? Are they back yet? Are they on a well deserved winter break? Is MOM still at his am gig? Is Buzz still alive? How's Robs liver? Marc Chronick have a good Xmas?

Fortunately Rob(b) found a way to keep himself "busy" this holiday break...

He posted here and failcasted, all from the comfort of his basement. He must spend most of his time there these days, desperately trying to escape reality (and his family).

Anyone really want to listen to Rob(b) drunkenly playing several hours of Christmas music? I imagine his "fans" probably leave little positive comments on his fb and the site just to be nice, but most couldn't stomach more than one of his intros.

Oh, and please to be enjoying more of Marc being a dick (see below). I guess he is trying to emulate his hero Mike in his absence.

I almost forgot, one more Rob(b) post...

A Christmas Eve excerpt from the DCRTV malesack:

Christmas in Sacramento: 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through Sacramento. Not a creature was stirring, not even sad Don Geronimo. The stockings were hung by the chimney with new wife big finger care, In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there to give back his career; Bart and his gal pal nestled all snug in their guestroom bed, While visions of new fucked up Christmas traditions danced in their heads; And brother Jim in his 'kerchief, and DCRTV's Dave Hughes in his cammies,Had just settled down for a long drunk nap,When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, Mike Sorce sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.Away to the window he flew like a flash,Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash. The moon on the breast of the new-fallen fake SacTown snow. Gave the lustre of mid-day to his rented laser light show, When, what to his wondering eyes should appear, But a East Coast sleigh, with people he burned in the past,With an Irish dj, so lively and quick, Sorce knew in a moment it must be St.Mike O'Mearanick More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,And he whistled, and shouted oh hell no, and called them by name; "Now, Rob! now, Buzz! now, Mason and Ardinger! On, McBride! on Murphy! on Freda! To the top of the porch! to the top of the mistaken stucco Granite Bay wall! Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!" So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,With the sleigh full of bad blood, and St. O'Mearanick too. And then, in a twinkling, Geronimo heard from the roof. FUCK YOU ASSHOLE & TO YOU DAVE HUGHES AND DCRTV "Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night." AHHHHH (12/24/10)

Ever hear of Caller ID?? Mike had Buzz call one of the #'s that popped up on a few of those late night phone calls, and more than once, Don answered, but when Buzz accused him, Don immediately changed his voice and started acting like he was another person, it was so stupid. Also one of the calls came directly from the hospital where Don was when he fell a few months ago. Mike is really pissed off now.

Sounds like Ronick is just an ass. No wonder he prints T-shirts while others his age run real corporations.

Funny thing is...

Buzz called me a couple of nights ago, and of course I immediately changed my voice and acted like I was Don. I think Buzz has a hard time seeing the numbers on the keypad, that explains the confusion.

Mike: Telephone harassment is a real problem though, especially for celebrities, may I suggest that next time you simply backtrace it.

This is some great trolling, I must say. I don't really understand the inside joke that these unregistereds are using regarding this prank calling thing Don->Mike, but whatever, it's still funny.

Seriously we are to believe while in the hospital Mike is alleging Don crank called him? This is imposssible to believe. Don had 20 stitches in his face and was an a neck brace yet crank called Mike from his hospital bed?
Unbelievable.

OK, stop right there. Why wouldn't tough guy O'Meara deal with Donnie G. mano a mano?

After all, didn't you tell us he bitch-slapped a thieving bartender in front of a crowd at his restaurant?

I though O'Meara liked to kick ass and take names - it's sad to see he has to get Buzz of all people to do his work for him...

That's what we call "devotion to the craft". Even a near-death experience and an ICU visit won't stop the malestrom that is Don's love of mean-spirited practical jokes to frustrate former partners while they cling desperately to remaining strands of credibility in a failing market.

Oh give me a break with that injury business, what a phoney baloney Don is, he deserves an Academy Award for that sorry act. I was at the Cal Expo when it happened, yeah, he fell off the stage, but it wasn't that high and I'm sure he could've gotten back up if the security guards wouldn't have freaked out and held him down. He got banged up, but in no way was he sustaining some kind of serious injuries. This is mostly just an act so he can gyp insurance money from the production company and threaten to file a law suit. And I dont believe one bit the whole story about "20 stitches"- they kept him overnight to avoid malpractice suit. Don himself even said he could've jumped right up. He wasn't hurt that bad, he could've easily picked up that phone while he was in the hospital.

Agreed...

The accident was most definitely staged as part of an insurance fraud scam, and of course for the free publicity. I'm glad someone else has seen through Don's charade.

Don't believe me? Just Google "Don Geronimo, accident photo", you won't find any! Need I say more?

Despite his family, all of the money and the successful ratings that Don has it seems that he's still envious of Mike, that's just sad. What will it take for him to stop calling?

Growing up as an child in my adolescence I really thought Mike was funnier than Don with the Prank personas and stuff. But, it's a business and Mike's out there to make money but that was Don's calling too and I think he's better at it.

Well, I was in my teenage years in highschool when I started listening to WJFK Howard Stern in the Mornings and Don Geronimo in the afternoons. Howard was more outlandish and funny and it seems at the time the these two pair Don and Mike weren't just as funny anymore. It could've been because I was focusing on my graduation and all that Highschool what am I goign to do with the rest of my life stuff, but it came to no surprise to me at all that their show fell apart.

And it's not that I'm saying that they weren't funny, just probably more focused oriented on on the workaholics driving home from work to the family or whatever business awaited.

I was sad to learn Don's Wife was killed in the Car Collision, but like his whole show was about how fucked up his life was and her family was his forsaken family in exchange for how dysfunctional his life had been.

Really, I wish both of their personalities the best, but what was there worked back then so I guess the future is ups for fortune tellers to tell.

All the Mike O'Meara Show fan fiction (can't believe there is such a thing) on this thread is hilarious.

Don crank calling Mike and Rob(b) being some kind of wanted man because of something he said to the failcast's 10-person listener base is, as Don used to say, slap-nuts funny.

You know, I've been asked quite a few times what my beef with the MOM failcast is. I think I have a pretty conclusive answer for those people.

The failcast represents everything that is wrong with America. It's a celebration of mediocrity that doesn't deserve to be celebrated. It's blaming others for one's own lack of imagination and effort. It's denial of personal responsibility, a lack of consideration for one's own obligations and a belief that someone else...the listeners...should solve the problems created by these idiots' bad decisions. It's "success" measured in the number of excuses that can be made up to rationalize failure. It's fiscal irresponsibility. It's financial stupidity. It's denial of the obvious for the sake of trying to save face. It's crapulence wrapped in a ribbon and bow in a pathetic attempt to pass it off as "cutting edge." It's a pile of shit covered in gold spray-paint that is being peddled to morons as the mother-fucking Oscars of podcasting. It's vomit without the after-taste because you are passed out. It represents the worst that America has to offer.

Really? You think that O'Meara's podcast represents the worst thing that America has to offer?
Son, you really need to take a break (like a year) from posting nearly non-stop on the internet and get outside & see what the REAL world is like. Then come back and tell me what the worst thing in America is. It seems like you have no life outside of your little insulated internet fantasy messageboard world here.

I also can't believe you're taking a drunken, overweight, talentless radio personality this seriously. You're hanging on with bated breath for bits of information related to every dipstick financial move he makes, how crappy his ratings are, how low his iTunes ranking is. You sound like one of his biggest fans! If you really hated Mike, you wouldn't hunger for every little table-scrap about his life to post on this forum. And if you REALLY hated, you just wouldn't care enough about him to post on here. The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference. By hating him, that means you're actually interested in him and his life.

I can also guarantee that America's free market economy will eventually put an end to Mike's podcast... it just takes time. That's just how it works in this fine country.

And most of all:

I'll add an addendum to that:

The show is also holding back Oscar from being fully committed to a much funnier podcast which is actually HIS show. Mike's bitterness at Chad for still being on WJFK is standing in the way of Oscar and the Big O and Dukes show. Its selfish, childish and unfair. As we are all wont to say: "Go screw", Mike.

You are right about Mike's selfish and childish behavior. Only an immature asshole would begrudge Chad for having a job at WJFK or would be angry at Don for deciding to go a different direction in life after the death of his wife. It seems that Mike is incapable of empathizing with anyone else...classic narcissistic behavior. If he had empathy, he would be encouraging Oscar, Rob(b) and Buzz to strike out on their own instead of being tied to this failed experiment out of some unfathomable sense of loyalty.

Valid points...

The good ship D&M has been resting on the ocean floor for a while now. Mike is still clinging to the wreckage though. Rather than tread water he has decided to pull the others under as he uses them for buoyancy. Of course that's Mike, clinging to whatever he can to keep his head above water, without actually doing any of the work himself.

I can rattle off about a dozen other applicable puns but allow me to digress. Mike used to be a hard working guy back in the day. I shit you not! When he first met Don Mike was working in the production department at Power 105 (WAVA), he did the station imaging and cut spots. He also worked with local production companies doing vo and on camera work in local spots. Don recognized Mike's potential, and D&M was born.

The guy hustled, and he made peanuts. Most importantly he was funny and charismatic, some may have even described him as likable. It seems like 20 years on easy street has made O'Meara a bit soft and very lazy, he has lost his drive and ambition. So at this point he's the radio version of Crusty the Clown, just going through the motions to get whatever pay he is able to at this point.

Who the hell thinks Mike has some kind of undeserved grudge against Chad Dukes?? If you only knew half the shit Dukes has pulled over the years! Mike's actually the bigger man for not taking matters into his own hands. And not just Mike either: while Buzz was in the hospital Dukes sent him a real nasty letter accusing him of stuff he didn't do and making very upsetting remarks about Buzz's illness. He's pulled a few fast ones on Robb too.

Mike has every reason in the book to hate Chad, just stop pretending it has anything to do with shit that went down at JFK.

We would have to believe that DON has never heard of caller ID, that he's so stupid that he crank-called Mike from his hospital bed phone. Only someone so painfully stupid that he sets his car on fire trying to jump-start it would do that.

It sounds like somewhere along the way Mike developed a sense of entitlement. For most people, Don's leaving would have been a wake-up call. But Mike took the WJFK gig for granted, hiring a mediocre producer who wouldn't push him and handing the mic over to two lesser talents in order to lighten his own workload. The result is Mike's current career trajectory.

How would you know any of this if you're not

A. One of the MOMS crew
B. A troll making shit up out of a dislike of Dukes

What has Chad "done over the years?" He sent Buzz a nasty letter while in the hospital? what are you smoking?

Yes, O'Meara is the MUCH bigger man (Ha!). Maybe Mikey won't fuck with Chad because he knows Dukes has a house full of guns and a bit of a temper. I'd delegate beefs with Dukes to an underling stupid enough to do it, apparently O'Meara's got plenty of dopes willing to do what he won't.

Just from listening to the BOAD podcasts over the past few months, I believe this post is complete bullshit,,,on the most recent podcast Chad talked about how much he likes Buzz and what a bg supporter of BOAD Buzz has ALWAYS BEEN,,,

There's definately someone out there that doesn't like Chad and posts on this forum making crap up all the time

I personally could care less if Chad's a total ass in "real life", he's entertaining to listen to, and that's fucking rare now-a-days

The new BOAD podcast is up now, take a listen if you want to hear something funny, it's one of the best yet

The mere notion that Donnie G. would crank-call MOM is hilarious. Please, child. It's not like there's a shortage of folks pissed at MOM -- how about ex-restaurant-employees?

I'm sure some seriously misplace egotism played into all of that. "They won't fire me, I'm MOM!!!" I know people like that. They incorrectly think they are so important and valuable that they can just skate by.

What's Dick saying?

I invite everyone to participate!

e.g. "Guess which one of us has a better chance of landing a major market DJ gig?"
or "What will drop first, the ball or your pink slip?"

At this point, there are MANY more laughs in Dick Clark's New Years Eve gig than in a year of the failcast.

OK, so he's not INTENTIONALLY funny . . .

I find it very ironic that someone posting here seems to know exactly what happened when some asshole threw shit at Mike. A little suspicious, wouldn't you say? Whoever did it is damn lucky Mike didn't see who did it, or your ass would be sitting in jail right now. Instead you took off and hid like a coward, thinking no one would see you. And I wouldnt go around bragging about it either, because Mike's not letting it go, he will find out who threw it, and I pity the poor sucker who will have to own up and face the consequences.

OK, I'm convinced now. These posts are clearly much more entertaing than anything O'Meara and his wacky krew have done in the past two years.

Keep 'em comin'!!

And if you come near Mike O'Meara, guess what, consequences will never be the same...

Safeway? This post is total bullshit, everyone knows that Mike shops at the Bloom near his house or the new Harris Teeter on the corner of Liberia and the parkway. They usually take Carla's Lexus SUV so they can load it up with all of the snacks Mike will need for the week. If someone were going to pull a "prank" on O'Meara, don't you think they would invest a little more time studying his daily routine, the layout of his house, what time Carla comes home in the afternoon, what time Mike puts out the trash Monday morning, etc. To do that you would need a lot of free time, high powered binoculars, wireless microphones, a myriad disguises, and of course a van to park on say, Portner ave for example. But who the hell would do that?

Why? So you can hear Mike say the word "shit" when he talks about his dog's shit?
